I finally found a HDMI cable locally.
That way if it did not work, I could return it.
I got it at WAL-MART. I looked at my local WAL-MART they do not carry this item. I found it at a WAL-MART when I was out of town this weekend, When I was walking around the electronics area.
I saw all the people with mix results so I held off for a quality cable from a company I can trust and been making cables for a long time.
I got the:
BELKIN - HIGH SPEED HDMI CABLE WITH HDMI MICRO CONNECTOR.
6FT. OR 1.8M
$30.00
I just tested it out for 5 minutes last night. It worked great. I set the HDMI setting to automatic. As soon as I plug cable in it worked.
I was saying, Awesome!!!
Hopefully this helps people who need the cable and are scared of what cheap cables can do to expensive electronics.
Running stock Gingerbread Rom.

And where did you get it from? There's a TON of FUD out there about cheapo cables frying phones, hence people's reluctance to buy from monoprice/ebay.

That's what I'm sayin'! They all work the same. I'm not gonna spend 10x the price on something that won't work any better. To me, 1080p, is 1080p.
i can guarantee the $3 ones wont last..probably from ebay..lol but thats where i got mine from, cost me bout 10 bucks about two months ago and still works, i use it all the time especially weekends, make sure to check buyers feedback and also u can notice a crappy cable by looking at it...just be carefull when pickin but it's best to get one from a local store or t-mobile website
I had some money coming my way that I was not counting on so I say what the heck!!!
I saw all the complaints if all those cheap cables. I did not want to be one of those people.
I was just posting a options some people don't mind spending more on a quality product.

I've used my $3 cable almost everyday since receiving it 2 weeks ago and I've had no problems at all.
The cable actually looks like good quality....I got it from Hand Held Items. I'm usually the first to say when something looks cheap, but this $3 cable looks the exact opposite. I'm still shocked that stores can make money selling a HDMI phone cable for $30. What a ripoff....smdh
But I'm not knocking anybody who purchased that $30 cable, by all means if you got the money and want to do it .... perfect!

I'm kind of afraid to get one. Many reports of it shorting out batteries and ruining phones. Or were these stories just 'urban legends?'

I understand...Im not trying to sell anyone anything, I just wanted anyone that may be in the market for a cheap HDMI cable to know where I got mine from. I'll admit, some of the reviews aren't so great, but there are more 5 ratings than 1 ratings. I guess I have one of the 'Good' cables.
Nonetheless, good luck with any decision you guys make.
I got HDMI cable off ebay for me and my dad for $1 each lol, still working strong, but I cant say these $3 ones for our phones will be the same, I will be picking one up for mine soon.
I return mine. I am trying cheaper cables now that I know my phones HDMI port works. The Belkin one was a perfect fit.

6+ft mini-hdmi to hdmi male for less than $7.
Food for thought... seems none of you have heard of the future of internet shipping -- NewEgg... quality cable if you ask me, have 3+ of the normal hdmi and they sell adapters if you already have a hdmi cord, because how many times do you hook up your phone to a tv anyways?
Good link. I have to check that out.

Got three of these micros usb cables at the "Dollar Tree" for a buck a piece.
They are actually thicker and seem to be better quality than the uber lame cable samsung provides, but perhaps not as sturdy as those blackberry cables everyone loves. They make a good enough connection for ODIN to work, also lets me access the SD Card in windows just fine.
If you happen to have a dollar tree where you live, you no longer have an excuse to not pick up a few extra cables for charging, laptop bag, backpack, etc.
Plus when your samsung cable stops being picked up by ODIN you won't need to come crying to XDA anymore.
They also had mini usb, full size usb printer/scanner cables (A to B I think?) and etc. all for $1. Even picked up a USB car charger for my wife's car. I doubt it will last more than a few months, but compared to wal-mart price I can buy 14 of these chargers vs 1 wal-mart charger.
Pretty awesome, I looked for some last time I was at one (weeks before this post and before I even had this phone) and didn't see any other than ipod crap. I'll keep my eyes out.
Usually Meritline or Monoprice is my buddy for cheap quality cables and ebay (china) for little chargers and stuff.

Great find! Got mine today and a 2 USB port cigarette lighter adapter - car charger for $2.16 for the win.
I went to my dollar tree and they didn't have any micro usb cables. Bummed but they did have a firewire cable that I don't need for anything.

Those cables look like they're one hell of a deal for a buck! They do look a little cheaper made than a blackberry cable, I still have mine from my tour , but for the price? Worth all 100 pennies.
They do not last. I've been buying these for a while. Usually only last a month, 10-15 uses.

Meritline has 5ft cables for $1.50 each when you buy two. Idk how long they'll stay this price
http://www.meritline.com/usb-a-to-micro-usb-male-male-cable---p-40558.aspx
Good stuff, glad to see some other cheap options in here. For what they are, these cables should be a buck or two after all. Stores charging $9.99 or more are just out of their minds.
Anyway, I hope mine last longer than a month, if I have any crap out I'll be sure to update the OP.
I went back to grab a cable for my dad last week and they were all sold out, so I think I'll grab a couple of those blackberry cables posted in another thread.

i bought mine
my stock one got chewed up by my dog, i found that most micro-usb cables in my house only worked for charging,
finding one on ebay worked best. it looked more generic than most, no stickers on the back, but oddly enough, its the same (exterior looking) one that came with my galaxy tab.
my choice: ebay- cheap and quick shipping

I'm sure its good quality and all, but I paid under $10 for the one I got from Amazon.com (link above to the other thread) and it has worked for everything just fine. I have 2 of them now and I use them both for charging and data transfer all of the time. I guess it all depends on personal preference and how much you are willing to pay, but for $30 you can get three cables (and the 1 amp chargers with them) from Amazon if you are willing to wait 3 or 4 days for delivery. Of course, there is always the chance of getting a bad one when the seller sells 100s or 1000s of them but the same holds true for Radio Shack. I can only report the results I got.
I think the OP should buy one from Amazon.com ($10) and send me $10 also...still saving $10 in the process.
I prefer the stock SGH-i777 charger and cable over the SGH-i727 ones. You can get factory 2nd OEM ones on ebay for less than $5 with free shipping.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Samsung...Accessories&hash=item2a1a6cb3f6#ht_1490wt_905
Just a warning. Factory second means they have some scratches on the plastic charger. But the cables were brand spanking new. I ordered 3 of these. The SGH-i777 cables are a tad longer and feels more durable.
Get one here. 6ft gold plated for mega cheap.

It's not that I don't wanna pay, or that I look for cheap one.. but still there are some limits
Just looking for good one. Friend bought few cables, they were so stiff I was afraid they will break if you wiggle them, and micro usb port was also hard to inject into phone..was afraid to break micro usb port..
Was looking on LG web, couldn't find it for buy..
So, looking if someone have experience with some particular cable. TnX
Best cables I have ever used. Very high quality, they feel very much like (dare I say it), Apple cables with the hard shell.

I use the monoprice premium cables too. Had it for a couple months and no breaks yet. And life time warranty. Better than the amazon basic cables.
Ah yes, already checked monoprice, looks like good quality cables, but problem is that they don't ship to my country
And even if they did, I checked country next to mine, price would be ~20$, so..
TnX anyway
Try amazon. I bought mine through there.

I'm glad prices have gone up. That's a signal to the market that there is more demand than there is supply which will cause companies to produce more Type C cables.
Also, the fact that the popular/high priced cables are the ones that are "in spec" will cause companies to not only produce in spec cables, but advertise that they are in spec which will make it easier to find good cables in the future.
You just have to be patient...

I don't even know why Motorola trusted me with this tiny ass adapter But I lost the darn thing in a day. Does anyone know where to find a replacement that isn't from China and won't take a month to get here? My headphones have a removeable cord 3.5mm male on both ends...itd be nice to have a cable as opposed to an adapter.

Yeah they're pretty cheap, but they all come from China.
I am thinking that will be the only option as the original is from China...and I briefly looked into it when I first bought the phone, I was then unlucky enough to receive a defective device and returned it for a replacement...well the adapter was in the bag not the box so I got a spare for the inconvenience of returning to the store.
Bump. Has anyone found a seller in the states? The only places that seem to sell them are from China.
Honestly, if you're a regular listener to music it might be time to go BT.
I've been using BT almost exclusively for a long time and and it's really nice.
First, no tangling of cords. No having to un-knot the mess when you take 'em out of your pocket or bag... no worry about snagging them on something when I'm sitting on the bus communicating to work.
Second, additional controls. Most BT headsets have controls for volume as well as track control so you can adjust without having to open the music app on your phone if you playing a game, checking email, or reading a book. Or...
Third, you don't need to be right next to your phone. You could have your phone tucked away in a purse or bag or briefcase or backpack and still listen to music. Or you could have it sitting on the charge on the counter while you're moving around the house... as long as you're not too far away of course.
Not, I'm not a serious audiophile, so I admit that there may be some degradation of sound quality going via BT. It's no problem for me, but I can understand that it might be so for some people. But unless your the type that really needs super good sound quality... or you just don't have the extra cash handy, BT is the way to go in my humble opinion.

I too only found ones from China, and I finally found a listing in the US for the exact same product in the chinese listings, the white one, and I bought 3 of them. Huge mistake, don't go for them. They don't support stereo headphones :silly:
Huge waste of money. I too decided to go bluetooth as the poster above me, I use a pair of Beats Studio 2.0 (I know you guys hate beats, blah blah blah) and they work great. I did manage to RMA my phone though, as I was having some issues with the power button, and they just sent me a completely new Moto Z Force Droid in box, so I have a spare turbo charger and a new headset adapter

Just came across two eBay listings for what appear to be OEM replacement adapters (SKN6474A), thought I'd share (after I bought two for myself, natch). Kinda weird: same seller, but the first link is for $7.99 Buy-It-Now, the 2nd is for $9.99 but accepting offers. Haven't received them yet so can't say for sure they're the real deal, but the seller has 100% with 150 ratings. Act quick!
