I tried a few apps like LCD density and blade buddy. Though the density changes r done, they have NOT been very persistent. They r getting lost after a reboot.
Can anyone pls help me in keeping these changes persistent, across reboots, until I change again.

instead of using apps just edit the file /system/build.prop using root explorer
find the line "ro.sf.lcd_density=240" and change 240
add the line if you didn't find it

How did you change the build prop? I used root explorer to find it, long press it, open with text editor, find the upercase S and change it to a lowercase s, saved changes, rebooted. Works perfectly now.
all i did was change permissions to r/w and opened up astro except it wouldnt let me open it to make changes. ima try root explorer then

I never had any luck w /data/local, works fine in/system/media tho. Rename, set permissions, done.
:edit:
Could try KP's method using adb if all else fails.

That did it. Ty had the rw-r-r set right just didn't know what name to change the .zip file to.

FWIW, I've noticed that simply removing/renaming the sprint_bootanimation.zip (the yellow sprint animation) from /system/media and leaving the bootanimation.zip (the red moto logo) sped up my boot time a bit. It appears that the phone will run bootanimation.zip followed by sprint_bootanimation.zip. I haven't tried removing bootnamiation.zip because I don't like a plain black screen during boot, even if it is a second or two faster. Plus I haven't found a boot animation I like yet to replace the stock one.
I have a rooted AT&T LG G2, trying to add two lines to the bottom of my build prop list so I can edit the "type" setting on my APN, it's currently greyed out. None of the editor apps that I downloaded from the Play store are letting me add the two lines. Can open the build prop file but nothing happens when I start typing. Have tried Build Prop Editor, ES File Explorer and Root Explorer, switched R/O to R/W, same deal with all of the apps. Any ideas on what the issue is?
How about you copy the build.prop to your computer and edit it using notepad++

I will try that. Thanks.
I was able to fix this issue by using SQ Lite Editor from the Play store.
Can you describe how you use SQLite?
Anyone experience the above before?? Mine disappeared somehow....
Edit: I did the changes many times to cfm this is happening to mine. Changing the edited build.prop back to 480 does not solve this. Only way is to use back the original build.prop.
I am sure nothing else is edited so it's quite strange this is happening.
Did a hard reset didn't quite solve the problem. When the phone restarted with the sim, it defaulted to 4g. But once I enter the network selection menu, it jumped back to 3g again as there was no 4g selection available.
I realize what is the problem. I was using the built in editor of root Explorer to change the lcd density in build.prop. When I make changes and reboot, the lte options in network settings will disappear. Using back the backup build.prop solves the issue.
Can anyone verify this?

Yes I can. I had the same issue after editing bulid.prop with editor from Root Explorer. The only way to edit your build.prop is to copy it to Downloads folder on storage and than copy it to your PC to edit it. After editing copy it back to Downloads folder and later with root explorer to /system folder and change permissions to rw-r-r. And reboot. That works everytime.
Hi
Today I unlocked my bootloader, I changed somethings in the build.prop file. The lcd_density value is changed. When I boot my device, there is a purple screen. I can't connect adb, fastboot is the only thing that works. Can I flash a new build.prop file, or edit the file from the pc?
Thanks in advance, I'm sorry for my bad english,
Mathijs

Well. You learn a lesson here. If you're going to mess with stuff, always back up. Try changing the LCD density value back to 320. Then see if it works.

Use a root file explorer. Navigate to /system. There you have the build. Prop
