Reboot into Recovery.
Perform Nandroid backup
Perform full wipe in recovery. Wipe data/factory reset or for best results select "mounts and storage" in clockwork recovery. Format /cache /data /system /sd-ext. Be careful not to format /sdcard.
Flash rom
Reboot
Enjoy

Flash at your own risk. These were made for the EVO but should work on the shift. If not they can be modified to work. PM me for Shift specific mods and I'll add them.
If I were you I would have a look at the updater-script before flashing anything here.
Extract the zip
Navigate to \META-INF\com\google\android
Open the updater-script. I use notepad ++ on windows or gedit, nano or vi on linux.
If you have doubts then replace the text in the updater-script with the following.

Synergy is one of the most popular sense roms around for the evo 4g and a couple other phones. And I as well am excited to see some new roms popping up for the shift!

I just wiped and reflashed and it loaded up fine. I usually format cache/data/system in recovery before flashing though. Good luck.

1. Download Rom.
2. Reboot into Recovery.
3. Perform Nandroid backup
4. Wipe dalvik cache and cache
5. Flash the rom.
6. Reboot.
7. The first boot will take longer then usual
NANDROID BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING PLEASE.
To set the alarm when using the ASOP lockscreen just tap on the widget clock if using it. If not using the clock please click on the red analog clock app. If you don’t you will have no way to turn it off.

3. Perform Nandroid backup
4. Wipe dalvik cache and cache
5. Flash the rom.
6. Reboot.
7. The first boot will take longer then usual
NANDROID BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING PLEASE.
When setting the alarm make sure you use the icon label alarm and not the clock widget as you will have no way to turn it off. This is because of the vanilla lockscreen.

Thanks to Konikub for the poster.
Everything works with this ROM. There is 403+ MB memory available after a clean installation, Dark Cocoa is extremely Fast and extremely stable. The dalvik has been moved to cache instead of eating up all of the main memory. Sports a SNQ 4 in 1 Reboot MOD, and automagically zipaligns all apps after each boot to help them load up faster. All apps have been updated to very latest. All apks have been optimized (ZipAligned) to the fullest!

Tune in Radio does not load. It is on a folder named "Tuneinradio" that is loaded onto the SD Card. Just open it with ES File Explorer and install. It should work after that.
The following apps in the optional folder will not install. I am currently working to find a solution to this issue. (app sharing, FM radio widget, FM radio, news reader widget, news reader, stock widget, stock, twitter widget, twitter, flickr)

Go to the "Themes" section of this forum and you see a thread with my collection. This ROM is kind of sporting two of themes....A5 and Mynimal

FAQ:
Q: How come there are no addons or themes available in Synergy Updater?
A: You first must configure an Addon/Theme server. Do this by going to: menu | configuration | Addon/Theme Update Settings | Manage Addon/Theme Servers | Menu | Update Featured Addon/Theme Servers" Then check for Addons and themes and there should be a list presented.
Q: When I apply an update through Synergy Updater, occasionally recovery doesn't apply the update and I get a screen with an exclamation mark
A: Clockwork Recovery has been tested to not be as consistent as Amon_RA's Recovery. At this time I recommend and use Amon_Ra's 2.3.* recovery which can be installed through RomManager or downloaded and installed manually from Amon_RA's thread.
Q: I am looking for a particular file that I am sure has been posted before in this thread. How can I easily find it in this huge thread?

FAQ:
Q: How come there are no addons or themes available in Synergy Updater?
A: You first must configure an Addon/Theme server. Do this by going to: menu | configuration | Addon/Theme Update Settings | Manage Addon/Theme Servers | Menu | Update Featured Addon/Theme Servers" Then check for Addons and themes and there should be a list presented.
Q: How come there Is Nothing In Synergy Updater?
A: Your Device Might Not Be Setup For Synergy Updater At This Time.
Q: When I apply an update through Synergy Updater, occasionally recovery doesn't apply the update and I get a screen with an exclamation mark
A: Clockwork Recovery has been tested to not be as consistent as Amon_RA's Recovery. At this time I recommend and use Amon_Ra's 2.3.* recovery which can be installed through RomManager or downloaded and installed manually from Amon_RA's thread.
Q: I am looking for a particular file that I am sure has been posted before in this thread. How can I easily find it in this huge thread?

I only just switched to Sense 3 yesterday with VU, which I love. I wanna run it for the weekend so I can get a better feel for it before I try this out. You know, so I've got an experience to compare it to. But this sounds terrific!
Is there any overclocking implemented by default? Or are we looking at stock frequencies out of the box?

its 2.1/3.0 only thing from 3.0 that isnt included is 3d rosie but theres a mod for that if you know how to adb push ill work out a flashable zip later

yea not a bug its a feature....the right button is remapped to rosie settings go to your app drawer click on rosie settings app and set it to whatever you want if you want it to set to the stock personalize screen ill have to make a mod for that

FAQ:
Q: How come there are no addons or themes available in Synergy Updater?
A: You first must configure an Addon/Theme server. Do this by going to: menu | configuration | Addon/Theme Update Settings | Manage Addon/Theme Servers | Menu | Update Featured Addon/Theme Servers" Then check for Addons and themes and there should be a list presented.
Q: How come there Is Nothing In Synergy Updater?
A: Your Device Might Not Be Setup For Synergy Updater At This Time.
Q: When I apply an update through Synergy Updater, occasionally recovery doesn't apply the update and I get a screen with an exclamation mark
A: Clockwork Recovery has been tested to not be as consistent as Amon_RA's Recovery. At this time I recommend and use Amon_Ra's 2.3.* recovery which can be installed through RomManager or downloaded and installed manually from Amon_RA's thread.
Q: I am looking for a particular file that I am sure has been posted before in this thread. How can I easily find it in this huge thread?
A: In your web browser click on the paper clip next to this thread on the index page of "EVO 4G Android Development". A list of all of the threads attachments will be presented.
Q: Do you have any tips on conserving battery life?

Yeah he hit the thread last night pre-release ROM testers. I happened to catch it and barely got in under the wire.
Probably the best rom as soon ans you get the updater working I think that is a really cool idea a little better than miui

I would get rid of #2 then or leave whats compatible with the Inspire, you're gonna have alot of people complaining about soft bricks..etc..etc

I hardly ever change modems in the Ports. It wouldn't matter what one I would put in , everybody like to try different ones anyway.
