wvga to qhd upscale - HTC Sensation

Dear,
is there any app or something which upscale apps, which are greated for wvga-screens, to qhd, to make them fill the screen?
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards
Mario

Download Spare Parts. And then in the app, untick Compatibility Mode
Swyped from my HTC Sensation

Many thanks!
Sounds great, but doesn´t work for my.
WVGA-resolution apps still not fit the screen. ;(

Reclick and then unclick compatibility mode and then restart the device. Some apps have better results than others, though.

Works now, many many thanks!
It's great!
But,
all the qhd-stuff will displayed in maximum resolution, rather than in wvga and scaled up, right?

Is it possible to upscale iGo this way also or we should wait for the official release (which won't be any soon)?

T-Mobile SDA alternate camera software?

is there such a software for the t-mobile sda that is like an alternate for the camera software found in windows that allows you to select more effects for the pictures; one that has more options than the microsoft one?
Try Cool Camera
yeah, cool camera's pretty cool... but not a lot of difference to what you already have default on your phone... but definitely worth a try (you can also use your phone as a webcam with this software ^_^)
anybody have a link for a full version download?
Do you guys manage to run Cool Camera with proper screen orientation ?

Chome Weather 2.0

FYI, CHome Weather 2.0 works on the VOX. Please follow the link to see the original thread in the Excalibur forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396068
And click here to download the files needed for the Vox.

Hello...just downloaded this version of CHome Weather and it looks amazing...great job. There's only one problem, probably related to the 240x320 cpr file because, like I already read in the excalibur forum, there's an issue in 240x320 where the background looks a little odd and doesn't fit the area like it supposed to. But again amazing job...keep it up
EDIT: I've just used a version of the 240 x 320 cpr file already used in another version of your plugin and it works great now
I was just now testing the other layouts and there are some issues:
- I realized that everytime i change the layout, it doesn't matter the cpr 240x320 file i did put there because when the layout is changed the cpr file is kind of replaced by the one corresponding to the sellected layout.
- In the HTC and Iphone layout, it shows always an icon with a cross below the icon of the current weather, instead of showing the icon corresponding to the weather.
- In regular layout, the gold and silver backgrounds don't work well in 320 x 240.
- In the regular layout, in the 1 and 3 layouts, I can't see the hi and low temperature.
Yeah, you'll have problems with the portrait layouts.
Is it possible to fix the problem with portrait?? That is the last thing, that keeps me from donating.
I am so happy with this program. I worked as Organic M's test subject to get this working. I can't say I notice the problem you guys are talking about in regards to portrait mode.
This is what I see:
have the author, removed the files from the location... I am unable to get those...
Can someone help plzzzzzzz!!!!!!!
Thanks

There are 2 links in the main post at the top of this thread.
The first one is the weather program
The second one is all the files that need to be installed to /windows on your device
Davis,
From your post, it looks like that screen is in ladscape mode. Portrait is taller than wider, yours looks wider than it is taller.
Thanks a lot.. I found the same at the post. I was just eager to get Weather update on my VOX...So got carried away...
Thanks

Well if you put it that way, you'll definitely NOT get me to fix the portrait layouts. How about.. "here's a small donation and small request... I would really appreciate it if you could work on the portrait layouts(which is a major PITA) so this works properly on my phone".
Well then I Only wanted to know if it is possible to do it. But I can live without it. I can look outside to see the weather. You know I made a lot of stuff for the Vox...but I never received ANY donation!!!
works beatifull. got no issues with any layout (i'm using plain black background). excellent job!
the only question i have is if it is possible to manually edit order of appearance on home screen somehow as i could do it in standard homescreens in _home.xml file?

This is definitely NOT what I wanted to happen here. I worked with Organic M to get this app to work with our phone models and he was nice enough to help us out.
This is far from the thanks that he deserves, since the app is designed for an entirely different model.
Why so serious? can't we all just... get along?

I think the Chome Configurator will allow you to change the order of Slides on your Home Screen.

I have no idea what you are talking about....
???
As I said I only wanted to know if it is posible nothing more. And I just wanted to clarify that people here are not thankful! I really do apreciate his work. And the work of all the other coders and cookers! I hope you understand my point!
Does this plugin use necessarily the whole width of the screen, or is it possible to customize its size or layout (present conditions, 2-days forecasts, 5-days forecasts...)?
At present I'm using Fizz Weather with Orange plugin on my Wings, in order to show an analoug clock and weather forecasts next to it (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=89987&d=1212446950); will it be possible to make the same thing with Chome Weather?
So... is anyone still interested in making this work better with the Vox ? Maybe ask some of your ROM cookers to look at the policies in the registry and ask them remove the restricts that don't allow cab files to copy files to the \windows directory ? Then I wouldn't have to make two separate .cab files when I released a new version That, and if anybody wants to help test the portrait layouts, we can make this happen.
Yes it would be great to see the weather plugin fully working on the Vox...that thing about the restrictions I never understood that because after checking myself the registry many times, I saw that the restrictions were disabled and the thing about installing files in the windows folder still remains a problem...

Screen Resolution

Hi Guys,
Quick question with regard to the increased resolution on this device.
If you run an app that was designed for a 320x240 screen is the app displayed differently on this device?
Does it still use all the screen or is it presented slightly smaller, does that make sense?
Cheers,
D.

Usually it expands over the whole screen taking advantage of the higher resolution. Fonts maybe smaller or get resized. Graphics are usually displayed in double size. Most programs keep the aspect ratio.
Thanks Jorlin, that's good to know.
Just need to be patient now!

[Q] LCD Density App - Does it work?

Google's already indicated that tablets and smartphones won't be sharing the same Android build until Ice Cream Sandwich in Q4, though interestingly enough, it turns out that the tablet-friendly Honeycomb actually has Gingerbread's interface quietly tucked underneath. According to modder Graffix0214, all you need for making the jump is one simple tweak in a system file: assuming you already have root access, use your preferred method -- Pocketables recommends the LCDDensity for Root app -- to change the LCD density value to 170 or higher to emulate a smaller, denser display. After a reboot, you should then see some Gingerbread love as demoed by Graffix0214's video after the break; and likewise, set the value to 160 or lower to roll back. It sure is nice to have an option, eh?

I am curious if this works... if it does then maybe full screen apps and video players will not have the status bar.

I didnt see this until I arrived at work so I couldnt try it. Just wondering if anyone has. I saw that Zoom supports it.
I am sure that it will work- It is not really a surprise to me.
I remember messing around with the density setting and, even on my HD2, the icons and everything would completely change depending on what the density was set to.
That was a far back as 2.2.

[Q] If I remove softkeys, will Apps recognize the device as 1080p?

The title says all.
If I remove softkeys, will Apps recognize the device as 1080p? Some Apps are optimized for HD resolution (mostly games that play in landscape). So, I'm just wondering if I remove the softkeys at bottom, the Apps will recognize the device's screen resolution just like HTC One, SGS4, or SGN3.
Could anyone confirm please?
Thank you!
As far as I know the softkeys dont have anything to do with how apps recognize the device. The apps would look the same if the softkeys weren't even there maybe a slightly longer but not enough to make a difference
Just hit the thanks button

I find that a game like "Puzzle and Dragons" display different layout and resolutions depending on the available screen real estate.
I'm sry...didn't know there was "Thanks" button. Will definitely click it for ya
