[Q] Navigon Select with Mexico maps - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Because, as newbie, there is no way to post this question into the Navigon Select thread of the Windows Phone 7 Software Development forum, where the question belongs, i have to ask this Question here.
Is there a way to use the mexico maps of the iphone mobile navigator on WP7?
Because there are no other mexican maps for Navigon?
Is there any way to change this map with HEX 32 or other programms to use it with the aviable Navigon XAP?
If nobody knows, please move this post to the Navigon Select V 3.0 WP7 thread in Windows Phone 7 Software Development

Convert Iphone Maps
No until now there is no way to use the maps in Navigon 3.0.
Maybe you have to ask in the Android forum there are ways to use the Iphone Maps with the Android Navigon
and the Maps of US everyone is using in the Navigon 3.0 are from Android.
There can be a way to bring that together.

I tested a lot of things because here in Mexico are no other offline programs aviable to navigate.
I used the Iphone maps but the problem is I donĀ“t know wich nfs to use because there are not the same aviable like the ones of WP7.
Then I found a page that described how to make Iphone maps aviable for Android Navigon 2.5.x
I changed everything like decribed but after installing on WP7 with these map and NFS an ERROR ocupiered

Did u test it with the old Navigon Version?

No not until now. But I will test it.

Working OK with 1.4
I got it working with iPhone Mexico maps. I'm using Navigon 1.4. Only thing missing are the voices. Trying to figure out how to get the voice working.

[Q] (Solved) Get TomTom on Tmobile USA HD2

I have searched and read every TomTom thread I could find, but I could find no information about TomTom working in the US, with US maps.
Does anyone have TomTom working on Tmobile USA HD2?
If so, what version of TomTom and where did you get your maps?
I will gladly pay TomTom for the software and maps, but it doesn't show USA maps available when I selected the HD2.
I don't want to spend money for something that doesn't work with USA maps.
Thanks
Working TomTom Tmobile USA
So this weekend, I installed the modified cab from the following thread on my Tmobile HD2 stock rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=647096
I can say that it worked perfectly!
Once installed, TomTom allowed me to choose 1 map to download at no charge.
I choose the Orlando Florida Metro area map and after testing it this weekend everything works great!
I don't know if this map is only a 30 trial, but it did prove to me that it works on our USA HD2.
I will gladly purchase voices and complete USA maps if I can figure out how...
Wow.. glad I found your post.. Tomtom looks and works super slick on the HD2. Just a quick question.. After downloading the free map.. I went to tomtom and went to download maps and when I selected the HD2 the US maps aren't available.. I also tried to download from the app itself.. you run into this?

Best Australia GPS Navigation software for HD2

Hi there,
Can anyone suggest an Australia GPS Navigation software to be used on my Hong Kong Traditional Chinese version of HD2. I am going for a trip of 12 days in Australia so even a test or trial version software is okay.
Thanks in Advance.
garmin is good .. i like it !
I thought Garmin no longer makes GPS software for general WM market but only to Asus only, can we still get the software somewhere? If so, can you pm me the links?
Try iGO8 or Copilot 7 or 8. For iGO8 you should be able to download various maps, etc from PPCWarez.org. I have it on my Telstra HD2 and it works very nicely. I also have CoPilot 7 and this too works well. Good Luck

Bing?

most HD2s come with IGO and you get a free map, but personally i didnt like it. you could try google maps, which will do navigation but wont do the voice prompted directions (you can download it by going to m.google.com on your phone). i use google maps for walking, and i have garmin mobile xt with the city navigator europe map (which ive just updated ). if you know where to look, you could probably get this for free, but that isnt legal. i dont think thee is a great choice of free solutions. you could talk to orange, and maybe they will give you some money off your bill as the maps service doesnt work on the phone
My hd2 didn't come with igo so where can I get it? Took a quick look around and couldn't really find a clear answer
waze, google maps, bing there are lots...
Legal Free Navigation
Bing Maps has turn-based GPS guidance. So when you reach a turn it will show on the screen. For guidance it's better than Google Maps, but still not as good as TomTom etc.
It's search engine and street views are good.

The answer is within google, sorry I cant mention illegal sites
With the right .cab, map, and keygen, you can get TomTom 7 running on HD2.
I use TT7, as I find it better than the rest.
Would give links, but it is warez.

Can I install/use Garmin Streetpilot GPS without 3G/EDGE?

Hi:
I am kind of regret that I got the HTC Windows 7 phone. Now I can't use any of the old apps like spacetime, tomtom from my windows 6.5 mobile since I won't be able to install the cabs on the Windows 7 phone. This sucks so bad. How could Microsoft do this?
I see that Garmin came out with a Garmin Streetpilot GPS in the market place for $38.99.
I don't want to buy it until I know what I am buying.
Will I be able to use the Garmin Streetpilot GSPS on my HtC surround 7 phone if I don't have 3G/Edge? I don't want to pay $50 for a data plan every month.
Can I download the maps and everything else via wifi and GPS will work on the road since I can't connect to the internet on the road with wifi?
Thanks
No, you cannot download any maps upfront.
Wow. Now I really regretting getting the windows 7 phone. Even if I buy the Garmin Streetpilot, I can't use it if I don't have a data plan for 3G or Edge.
According to this link: blog.gsmarena.com/garmin-streetpilot-now-available-for-windows-phone-7-priced-at-39-99/, it seems you can download maps for your route in advance. i just want to know if you can do it with wifi only when available.
Unfortunately, the application does not come with the maps built-in and they are downloaded on an on-demand basis. But you can download the maps for your route in advance before heading out and if required the application will download the rest over 3G, Wi-Fi or EDGE.
Thanks
Or you can use Navigon
hey,
bud you can you use navigon v3 for you wp7....trust me theres no data charges and you can download any map...just google it....its pretty good!!
Google is not needed - just search xda wp7 forums ("Software development"). All googled info came from here, XDA
This link will help you
Thanks. I have a HTC Surround 7 which is already unlocked when I bought it.
It seems I also need to jailbreak the phone as well inorder to install apps not in the Marketplace. It seems scary since I may damage my phone and cannot use it anymore.

Hi:
I follow the link to install Navigon 3 on wp7.0, I did not add maps or do anything.
I just launch Navigon select afterwards, it started to download some 2GB files from the internet and I don't know what. after the install. I started it again and it says "The use of navigon select' was free of charge for 2 years. This period has expired."
I thought it was free?
Any idea why?
Thanks

You didn't read the directions. It is a hacked version. You need the Android maps & Data files. I just uploaded the data file that work with USA maps in the Navigon 3.0 thread. You need to "find" the maps on your own as discussion of wares is not allowed on XDA. You need to disable data/wifi on the device & run a special server that the creator included with the modified XAP. For more & full instructions, read the thread.
I need the North America Maps. From this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919612
I need to extract the ipa file to get the maps. How do I do that? What tool?
Thanks
Thanks. I live in Canada and I need Canada maps for Navigon v3. I don't know where to get it.
Any links?

We can not post links for the maps here, as it's considered warez & warez are against XDA terms of service. You'll have to "find" them on your own. Some people have posted hints in different threads. Just look around...
