[Q] Black screen on wake up - HTC Inspire 4G

Happens 3-4 times already, without a reason sometimes when i try to switch it on it shows black screen,i'm trying holding the power button but no use.. only when i remove the battery for minute starts working again.Phone is brand new rooted with stock Rom 2.3.3.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Same for me with superposr rom on Google Nexus s. But never with oxygen rom.

Is flashing custom rom the only solution?

do you have your cpu overclocked, or any undervolt scripts installed? my phone would freeze, or phone would crash if i overclock to high and if i install any undervolt scrips over 25mv

No overclock no scripts, I was thinking about overclock but didn't do it,really start worring now. Thanks for the replay.

what are your cpu settings ? something has to be off. i dont know what else would cause this

Go in recovery. Do a full wipe ,then reflash your rom
sent from my unity loaded inspire 4G

when you talk about reflashing my rom, what exactly do you mean??
My problem is that I have a stock phone (not rooted, just the stock rom) and I did a factory reset and now my phone goes into that black screen and I can't do anything :S

Oh if your not rooted disregard my earlier post. Only meant for rooted phones. Sorry I'd contact HTC about it and see what they tell ya
sent from my unity loaded inspire 4G

So I'm not the only one with this problem ... Wonder what exactly is causing this...

if reflashing your rom didnt fix the issue i would turn your minimum cpu setting up to like 350, something like that. sometimes our phones act funny at low cpu settings. Not all phones, but some. try that and see what happens

So far so good,if it happens again I will try that, thank you for your time.

Help!

to start i have the stock rom and rooted
well i installed the 1.5 kernel and all was well and everything was smooth. so i decided to install the 1.8 kernel and it was good for a a day and then today my phone has been really lagging in some aspects like going through my home screens(i have launcher pro) and at times when im in settings or something and i tap the home button it goes to a black screen and says launcher pro is having problems. so i took that off and went back to sense and that was also lagging when swiping through homescreens and opening the app drawer, and that never happened before. im running it at 1209 max and 806min most of the time .
so my question is: if i want the 1.5ghz kernel can i just flash that back over the 1.8ghz without doing a full restore? would there be any problems? any other suggestions?
thanks
Your min is set way too high for one and u should be able to reflash the other kernel with no problems

OC Daemon

If I want to OC to 1.8 ghz using Daemon Controller what should the Wake min/Wake max Sleep min/Sleep max be
The same with the governors for both
I know there's a thread that explains it but I couldn't find it :/
Thanks!

Simply leave everything as is and just change the wake max to 1728000.
Alright thanks I did that then I reboot but when I tried quadrant standard the results ended up the same as without OC. Anything wrong that I did?

can any of you please help me try to un brick my phone. recovery image wont work and i have no other roms to flash to on my sd card. it happend after i tried to flash the updated version of the revo.. hd rom that has this new oc daemon in it. i can do pvt messages to keep this thread clutter free but im just desperate and trying to find smart people who are also awake at this hour because it is extremely vital for me to have a working phone later on this morning so that i can not be stranded in texas longer than i already have planned for with my car accident.

Thats because Quadrant is a load of crap. The results are different everytime regardless whether your running 1.2Ghz or 1.8Ghz.
I never believe Benchmark programs.
Alright well thanks. Now I know

Sorry for the "not really helpful" response...
Nah dont worry now I know I didn't do anything wrong with the OC
well if you overclock from 1,2?? to 1,8ghz your score has to change. should go up at least 35% ...
Even if these benchmark tools are crap

Aw that sucks
What did you have before ics ?
Are you using CWR ?
Did you do a full wipe before installing the rom ?
Yeah did
I think something happened to the screen..

Same issue but does not require reboot or reflash.
When you touch the brightness it goes black, BUT if you press the power, then press it again it will wake up to previous brightness and if you leave the brightness alone, your fine.
I was on a ginger rom before but did a full wipe, wiped caches, and also did my permissions as well, no help.
mine wont even turn on anymore
the screen is dead they told me
im gonna send it to asus on tuesday
thanks for the help guys
now i have no tablet

[Q] HTC One XL flashed with the newest Viper XL ROM...

So recently, I flashed ViperXL 2.0.0 to go along with the Beastmode 3.0 kernel. Everything has been going well, but I've been encountering some sort of bug...that doesn't really seem to be a bug, but there's something definitely up with my phone.
About once or twice a day, my phone will just get up and reboot itself completely randomly. I'm not sure what, if anything, is actually triggering it. The weird thing is that other than these reboots, my phone runs extremely smoothly - without lag, freezes, or anything of the sort. I'm not sure what the problem is, and I can't really replicate it because it happens so rarely. Anybody else encountering the same sort of issue?
Wrong Forum. Try clean wipe, cache and dalvik cache as well and re-flash the rom.

I was hoping to avoid that actually, because I've set up all my apps, settings, etc. all nicely after migrating from the stock ROM. The problem is that the reboots are sparse enough so that it's not a hindrance, but it happens enough such that it's a lingering annoyance.

wrong forum ... and thats the simplest way to fix the reboot problem im on viper and have not had any troubles
also get a backup app saves time..
backup only the data when doing a backup in recovery wipe and reflash 2.0 and them restore data . if the reboots are still there then i would say its an app causing the reboots

I normally use Titanium. So you're saying to not choose "App+Data Restore", install the apps directly from the market after a flash, and then load the data in?

I use app + data but only for market installed apps, I don't backup system apps or any of the apps installed with the rom. I personally have not had any problems doing it this way. I have not had any reboots or major lags on Viper XL btw.
I was seeing this as well, are u oc to the max 2.1? If so bring it diwn to 1.8, and see if it fixes ur problem. It did for me. One of my hox phones can run 2.1 no issues, but the other one........as soon as i try 2.1 i get all sorts of problems. Try a reflash of the kernel, with 1.8 speed. Post results.

I actually flashed the 1.8Ghz version, and I have been running it at 1.7Ghz only.
However, I have all the voltage-step frequencies set to the default. Global voltage is also set at "0 mV". Does anybody have any suggestions for the Voltage Frequency Steps?
Also, although I have the "Use Separate Voltages" unchecked. I noticed two separate settings for Frequency steps that seems kind of odd.
On one, the frequency says 0MHz, with a corresponding voltage of 852mV.
However, right underneath, the frequency says 0MHz again, but with a voltage of 0 mV. Is that something I should change?

On what frequency is the CPU running? did you apply undervolt tweaks? sometimes CPU running too high causes Freezing, and the max frequency differs from device to device. Try setting it to 1188Mhz and see how it goes.

I tried that as well :/ i ordered another battery to see how that works out, i think it may the problem because the battery drains massively then after its rebooted it would go up by like 10+
Hopefully that will sort it out :fingers-crossed:
