Bluetooth Pairing Force Close - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using Prime 1.8.4. My tablet is posited with my Jawbone but will not connecT. Every time I try to connect them, I get a force close popup. Can anyone help?

+1 Bump, I've got the same problem

My problem ended up being only related to the specific headphones that I have. When I paired my phone with my TF, it worked fine. Check to see if other devices work and we'll try to diagnose the problem.

Totally forgot to check this thread! I just tried pairing both a Jawbone Jambox and Motorola S9-HD. Both device show "paired but not connected." When I click on the "wrench" icon under the Bluetooth menu it will force close. Please help. I'm on Prime 2.0.2.

Running Prime 2.0.4. Tried pairing Jawbone Icon and got the same result. Any help would be appreciated.

bump
am getting this on Krakd. Anyone able to clear it out?
EDIT: remove everything under /data/misc/bluetoothd. That will clear all paired devices.

That still doesn't solve the issue. Please, somebody take the time to investigate this. I would if I could, but am too swamped with other stuff to try.

Bluetooth Device Problem

I have noticed a couple of times not that i will sync a BT device but a little later its removed from the list. Any thoughts? Thanks
Update. I have realized that this happens everytime i do a softreset using rebootnow app. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks
Also this happens when i turn my phone off... no one else has this problem ???
sorry to keep pushing this thread but its the most annoying bug i've ever had. I tested almost everthing except a hard reset but whenever i do a softreset my bt devices that i have paired with get erased.... any guesses
I'm having similar problems - if I turn the phone off & back on again, it won't connect to my car. The bluetooth menu still shows that it's paired, but it won't connect (even if I try to manually connect). The only way to get it to connect again is to turn bluetooth off & back on - then it connects automatically.
I've only seen it delete paired devices from the list once - that was when I rooted the phone. It hasn't deleted them since.

well my phone is rooted so i'm hoping thats not the problem. Also I just made a lengthy video to show the problem and i will post it in a little bit on here so others can see the problem.
so for some reason i can't get the video of my friends iphone 4 but i was looking through the settings.db file and i found some interesting stuff about the bluetooth devices so i was wondering if anyone could look at this and tell me if there is something wrong also can a couple of people post their settings.db file on here so i can compare. thanks
I Get This Too!
For me it seems to only "remember" the devices that have phone capability turned on.
For instance, it never loses my Jawbone headset but it always loses my Kensington LiquidAux which I use to play music through my car's stereo.
But if I turn on the LiquidAux's phone option, the Captivate remembers it.
I've also paired it with the Motorola HT820 stereo bluetooth headset and it seems to remember that one as well but that has phone option too. I'll have to try turning off the phone function and see if it remembers then.

yes that is the exact same problem I have, If i disable the phone option for the BT car stereo then in gets erased when i restart my phone but if i keep it enabled then it doesn't seem to get erased. WTF can someone provide a logical explanation for this or can someone who is rooted give a counter example
My phone is rooted and currently running the JH2 ROM.
But I have experienced this problem with the original ROM as well.
I've tested with three different Bluetooth stereo/phone devices and the result was the same with all three: remove phone option and the profile eventually disappears.
As long as you don't disable the phone option of your bluetooth device it should remain in the Captivate's profile list.

are you saying that the jh2 rom does not have this problem??

No, I'm saying that it definitely DOES have the problem. So it does not appear to be ROM specific. There is a JH3 ROM out now that I think I will try today. I'll post my findings once I've had a chance to experiment.
Also, I'd like to know if anyone running any of the other modified i9000 ROMs, like JM5, is having the same problem.
Well, I just installed the JH3 ROM but the problem is still there.
Looks like we'll have to wait for Froyo and hope for the best.
Problem FIXED in froyo ji6
I just want to let everyone know who has had this problem that it is fixed in the leaked froyo build jfyi
I can't get the Captivate to connect via Bluetooth to anything other than my car.
It pairs with my Windows 7 computer, but will not connect.
I've even tried connecting via Bluetooth to Kies without success.
Is there a way to do file transfer via Bluetooth?

I'm running froyo and it's not fixed. I didn't have this problem with android 2.1, but noticed the problem after upgrading to froyo.

[Q] Issue with bluetooth earpiece Latest Vegan Tab flash

Getting a "Paired but not connected" issue with my bluetooth ear-piece and I've tried everything to get it to connect, even force closing wiping all the data from the bluetooth application and rebooting several times. I've only had this problem since switching from cyanogen mod to vegan tab (Love vegan tab btw) does anyone know some fixes or solutions?
Thanks in advance :3
come on :\ doesnt even one person have a suggestion?
I was able to pair my phone with the Vegan Beta 5.1 gTablet without issue...
I just bought a new headset and will try it and let you know...
Working fine for me as well but when I disconnect I have to re-boot to get audio over speakers on the GTAB
hmmm, thats really odd, maybe my headset itsself is being stupid. Thanks for the feedback guys.

I've found if you plug and unplug a regular wired headset into the headset jack, thst usually fixes the audio be muted on internal speakers.
bluetooth help
I am having the same problem. Tried 2 different headsets, netbook, and my moto droid - but everything says "paired but not connected". nothing works! please help
may be a direction for a fix; DEVs could you clarify for us
I found this in a post today by enigma0456:
More research finally revealed something. BlueGPS4droid at sourceforge not the market. So, the external gps was "paired but not connected" until there was an application (bluegps) to "connect" to. Once that was installed I turned on the bluetooth and it immediately saw the hollux remote gps receiver. Tested it with Maps and it worked beautifully. So theories:
1. If there isn't an app waiting to use the bluetooth device it will pair but not connect until something asks for it.
now I realize this has to deal with gps but as i understand all phone apks have been removed that can be and not lose functionality in order to save battery life in Vegan 5.1 so if the above quote is right then there is no app (phone.apk etc.) to ask for the use of the ear piece and thus the paired but not connected issue.
now some people have mentioned not having issue getting their BT headset to work and maybe this is because the headset offers another use in their programing like they are designed to work like headphones or something and then there would be and app to ask for them and so they connect
the ones that do not work on the other hand like mine are only designed for phone audio; ever notice that on your Droid cell that your headset will say connected to phone audio, well in our case if the phone.apk/s are not there then there is nothing asking to connect to it.
DEVs are there any ideas to get functionality back even it that means adding back the phone.apks--and is that possible to do with our re-flashing a rom like side installing it or an update.zip
Thanks

There is an app on the market, called "headset toggle widget" and that will do the trick and unmute your speakers
Possible workaround...
Don't know if this will help but, after I paired my BT headset with GTAB, I then paired it with another device (my phone) after which GTAB started giving me the paired but not connected message when I tried to connect back to the GTAB. What worked? Well, now before I select the headset device in GTAB's bluetooth device menu, I put the headset itself back into pairing mode. THEN, I select it in GTAB's bluetooth device menu and voilĂ , it connects. Downside, I have to put the headset into pairing mode everytime I want to connect it to GTAB. (Haven't bothered trying to unpair the headset with my phone yet to see if it makes a difference.) Hope it works at least as temp fix for ya.

Cannot pair with bluetooth headset (jawbone + EB Froyo)

I searched but found nothing in relation exactly. So this is kindof weird, thats why I'm posting. I searched through google, LG forums, jawbone forums and t-mobile forums, nothing exactly in relation (especially dealing with multiple ROM's) or any type of fix to a related issue.
So, I have a jawbone 2 headset device. Stock before I did anything, it paired. Diddnt use it for a while their, and then stared flashing some ROM's. I mainly used cm7 based rom's and paired my headset just fine, very easily actually and fast. I'm having proximity sensor issues, so I had to revert back to a froyo build (EB right now) but the same goes for ultimate rom.
Every time I try and connect initially, i get a force close on the settings. (when jawbone is in pairing mode) Then its in the list of bt connections of course, and i try and re-connect it and it spits out: Their was a problem pairing with Jawbone because the PIN or Passkey is incorrect. Now I havnt been able to find out how to either change the key or the pass. The key is the default 0000, I have even reset the jawbone to when I turn it on, its in auto pair mode. I have done hard-reboots, battery out's almost everything I can think of
So I'm stuck, any information would be completely awesome, and I hope its not super easy... Well I do, but it will not credit my intelligence.

There's no answer in this old thread but I am having the exact same issue. It's happening on 2 different phones with different ROMs (Bionix and Weapon). I had the issue before on Weapon 2.8 so I downgraded to 2.7 and it was working. I then when reset my headset to connect it to the other phone, and it's giving me the problem again. Has anyone solved this? I am using a Blu Ant Q2, is that a bad device for this phone? Thanks.
Pairing SGS3 to Jawbone
So frustrating. Hours spent on this. Have 2 Jawbone II s and neither will pair with Samsung Gal S3. Soooooo frustrating. No answers on web to date. Have tried reset of Jawbone. Tried holding TALK button. Tried pairing in every way. No success. Sgs3 does detect many things but not Jawbone. Please answer. [email protected]. Thankyou out loud!!!!!!

I have karbonn A21 running 4.0.4 ICS. I have issue connecting my phone to my ford figo bluetooth. There are mainly two checkboxes 1. Phone audio 2. Media audio under the bluetooth settings. The problem starts when I pair bluetooth and connect Phone audio, the error appears 'Com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly' and when i say ok immediately second error pops up saying 'Com.android.setting' has stopped. Though I am still able to play music on my car stereo by checking 'media audio' but unable to make/receive calls as Phone audio get unchecked after the error. Guy i have tried most of the method found on googling but nothing worked. Please let me know if any one have solution for this.

Google has changed the stack on the latest version on JB, but I believe ICS is still BlueZ. I would checkwith the ROM developer to see if that has been addressed

Guys any updates on this.
I recently had a problem connecting my Galaxy Nexus with my Kia Sorento UVO system. Nexus is running on JB 4.2 and worked fine up until yesterday. I ended up doing a factory reset on the UVO phone system, Then re-paired Nexus and all is fine.

Any updates on this issue????
Looks that's the fate of all unbranded android phones. I have seen iphone or blackberry working super perfect in Figos.
Someone said in another forum that BTmono will help in that case. But I tried and it doesn't help in anyways. The same crash issue. The only difference is that it connected well, and when I tried to do any phone operations like - redial, address book access etc. it crashes in the phone and disconnects from Figo.
Of course, the music play back works fine. Only phone doesn't.
Will try after modding with "karbonn a21 xf.zip" and see if there is any relief to BT connection issue. Will post soon!

Bluetooth not working with car unit

Hi,
I just got this phone from my friend who no longer needed it. I can't make its BT work with my car for some reason, even though it works with regular BT headphones. If anybody knows a fix for this, please help. It says paired, but it cannot actually connect.
Thank you,
