[Q] Message length in Korea - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there,
I am currently using my Omnia 7 with WP7 (no Mango) in South Korea. As I bought it in Germany, the default length for text messages is 160 signs; due to the different language system, messages in Korea usually have a limit of around 45 signs.
Is there any way to change this? I found no way in the options and it is pretty much not possible to guess how much space I have left whenever I type a message.
Thanks in advance!

Which ROM and tasks on the screen

Hello!
I am new on this forum and i have a few questions. I bought Mda compact from German T-mobile and I changed the language to English with I-mate Jam rom from XDA-wiki.
The problem now is that all the time zones and units in the jam are American and I live in Europe. So AM and PM time in no god for me because I am used to 0-24 hours and so on and on.
Which Rom would be best for me???
The second question is: which application I should use to make my tasks show on homescreen in the same way than the calendar appointments are. I would like that at least 3 “duedate – today” tasks are always shown on the screen, like the three next appointments in calendar are.

Go to Settings - Regional Settings and select your country. I have min in US English but set time and date to EU standards and currency to CH.

Mytouch 3g Slide in Japanese

Hi everyone!
I am trying to find a way to make my wife's Mytouch 3g Slide display the operating system in Japanese. I've found a couple helpful apps like Simeji for input and SetJapan for the region settings. With these I can send/read texts and emails in Japanese, and some apps that supported Japanese are now in Japanese (like Google Maps). However the system menus are still in English.
Is there a way to change the whole OS to a Japanese version of android (like the HT-03a), or something to the same effect? I was looking into rooting the phone and seeing what I could do, but I wanted to see if it was even possible to achieve the desired results first. Any thoughts?
Ok, well not a very lively topic I see. I suppose I will look into making my own rom then.

Does Sprint support UTF-16 character encoding?

I tried the Sprint website. It's so hard to navigate their support forum I figured I'd ask here first, then if no luck, call them.
I have my keyboard on my phone (HTC Arrive for Sprint running WP7.5) set to English and Simplified Chinese. The system for writing out text on phones in mandarin is actually pretty slick, and I enjoy the ease of it. I can search things with mandarin just fine, but when I text message it runs into problems.
I can receive mandarin text perfectly fine, and I can write out a reply in mandarin and send it, but the recipient receives a blank, underlined space where my text should be.
If I can receive texts in mandarin, then it would appear Sprint supports UTF-16, right? But, then again, I am about 92% sure that my phone supports it based on how I'm using it so I don't think it's the actual phone. I think it's the network.
I realize this might be a repeated question considering there is a thread on east asian character support, however my problem doesn't arise with my phone not knowing the language.. so I think a new thread will help my question better.
BTW, I'm new here
Thanks for any replies.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Win GT-I8552 - How to get Chinese language input option?

Hi everyone,
Hope this is the proper place to post this. I wasn't able to find a forum specific to the GT-I8552.
Anyway, I picked up this phone last week while on a quick trip to Taiwan. Didn't have much of a chance to use the phone while there and now that I am no longer there, I'm surprised to find that the phone does not offer any Chinese language input options. There are a total of 45 different languages shown under the "Input languages" options, but no options for any version of Chinese.
A friend has a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 purchased in Canada and her phone is setup to use the Samsung keyboard. On the space bar, there are options to switch between the various languages by swiping it. In her case, she can easily switch between English, Chinese (Simplified) and French.
I would love it if such an option is available for the Samsung Galaxy Win. Does anyone know the secret of enabling or downloading the Chinese languages?
This phone has been fantastic for me with the exception of no Chinese. Please help! Not sure if it can help, but I am attaching a screenshot of the specifics for my particular phone.
Thanks so much.
Kenneth

[q] problem receiving latin characters

Hi there,
I´m from Portugal and I´m getting trouble receiving SMS with latin characters. For example, when someone send me the word "organização" it appears "organizaÇ?o".
On Samsung theres an option to change the Input Method to GSM, Unicode, Automatic. But I cannot find them on my One Plus One with android 5.0.2, and on my girlfriend Huawei Ascend with android 4.3.
Can you guys help me on this?
