I don't see a setting anywhere to automatically subscribe to threads I respond in. Can anyone help me with this?

Subscriptions?
Please elaborate where you found it. There is nothing obvious that I can see to subscribe to a thread.

I just started using the XDA Android app, and I feel like a moron but I can't figure out how to add a forum to my "Favorites" list. I've tried long-pressing, looked in the menus, etc. But I can't figure it out. Is this some kind of test?

i have the same question
When in the forum you want as favourite, just press options and choose 'Subscribe', you'll get a notification saying the forum has been added to favourites.

But doesn't subscribing mean I'll get email notifications about every post? I do not want that.

You can change your subscription settings, you can also press and hold on a thread or parent thread to subscribe.

Oh, you're talking about subscribing to a thread. I was asking about subscribing to an entire forum. I do have some individual threads in my topic favorites, but I don't see how to get a forum in the forum favorites.

Works the same way, you can also subscribe to the forum from the website and it will show up under your favorites.

Yes, after you press subscribe there's a new prompt that asks about notifications...

Would greatly appreciate if there was a report button on xda app, then I don't have to switch between pc and phone(I don't use phone browser much). If I have posted it in wrong section or if someone else has.
Also, just a wish, it would be great if we could delete posts, which nobody has replied (then you don't have to worry about losing info).

You can request the XDA app feature in this Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841646
Also, deletion of posts is not possible/doesn't implement to normal members because its the privilege of a Moderator.
Re: Report button for xda app
I read it elsewhere that they didn't allow to delete, because they are scared of losing info (something along those lines ). But if we were able to delete un replied posts, if we solve it or find a link, then it wouldn't be a problem would it
Ps:thanks for the link

There is actually a [Solved] tag working in Questions and Answers section if the purpose of Thread becomes solved. Don't know how it works, but have seen in that forum. And I don't think deletion of empty threads would be possible at all for the Thread Starter, and the nearest bet would be to report it to the Moderator for deletion. App called Forum Runner does have the report function, if you used to browse XDA majority of the time from the app.
EDIT: And deleting Thread just because you've found the solution is not a good idea, because if you've posted the link inside it maybe it would save somebody else or would be helpful who're on the same situation.
How do I do this?
Trying to find a thread I started. Even when I do a search under my username it only comes back with one reply I made a couple of days ago.
In your profile, statistics tab, you can find a link to all your posts.
Or at home, general tab, you can select participated tab which will list all the threads you have ever posted on.

Thanks.
I think they must've all been deleted as it shows just this one & the one I mentioned.
A shame, someone replied to a question which I've just found the time to try. Now I can't find the thread

I mostly use google to search in forums, cause the built in searchers suck badly. Try using google: arb76 site:forum.xda-developers.com
hi i always have problems in internet because of my traveling, thats why i always download custom roms whenever i get a chance and also it's first page of thread for any info i might need when i install that rom.
but i found that sometimes solutions to problems are found if you read full thread, so i got this idea of why not download a full thread for later use specially if i can in pdf format.
i searched google for it, there are many old questions of this kind but no i couldn't find any solutions.
i found httrack, it looks good but its far too complicated for a user like me, can anyone have a look at httrack and tell me how can i use it on xda?
or if there is any special software for xda which can download whole thread with images please?
any help would be appreciated,
no one?
I am looking for the same answer. I want to be respectful before just posting a question but some threads have 30-80 pages and there is always refer back to some other prior posts so I have not found a good way to catch up on a thread. I have tried reading from the end and going back 3-6 pages but I suspect there is something along the way in pages 20, or 38 or 43 that is relevant. If there is no solution, then newbies end up posting at the end of thread with what others view as lazy and not reading the thread. How in the heck do you download the thread so I can do a faster read?
{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
no, thats not what i am trying to achieve, i want a full thread to be downloaded, like with all pages it have, so i can read offline all the pages. i can't save as every page if a thread has hundreds of pages. so it's not practical.
but thanks for you input. i would wait for someone who might know a way...
I'm also looking for a solution...

To be honest, I doubt XDA itself will want this kind of function to be availble because it is funded by various ads, ads that can only be seen and only generate funds when actively online.

This was the reply I got :

I think what user wants is... getting an XML with all post texts including poster name/info (though it means attachments cannot get) as in when trying to extract all PMs from XDA site as an XML file.
That would be very long and huge size on 2000-10000 paged threads (even with 10 posts per page). But that could be very practical if possible

I understand but unfortunately it's not possible. The best way is to change settings to show 50 posts per page and use Chrome (or similar) to "print" and "save as" pdf :good:

Try loading the page, then right click in the page then choose the "select all" option to highlight all the text on the page, then copy the text, then create a new text file, then paste the copied text in the file, you'll have to do this with each page of the thread.
Or, you can use screen record and scroll through the pages and posts while recording.
