Any good app?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App

Ohhhh come on please can someone advise on a good camera app to use pn tab with zoom capabilities. I also really miss that function. Any suggestions will be appreciated

its only possible using software digital zoom, not optical. it can be made in some third parties like C360 or Vignette, but i dont know exactly)

There is no optical zoom on phones, only digital. Digital zoom is more or less like cropping an image and then resizing it, so the result will not look very good. If you still want it there many app on the market like devilng said. Or you can take the pictures normally and then crop and resize with a pictures editing program like photoshop or something. Like I said it won't look good.

A lot of people like Camera 360.
I personally don't like it, but it might be worth checking out.
Thanks. Really just want to be able to tap the screen to take pics.

try using vignette... i absolutely love it!
Vignette is BY FAR the best camera app for the Droid X!
I would like to agree on this! It is the best addition to the droid x! The pics are just that more vibrant! I always compare it to the Evo and guess what, the X always wins! Its not by liking but by actual aperture and density in the pictures! The live shutter vs digital is by far some kind of feat!

Just purchases Vignette, its f**king awsome. Love it. Thanks guys for the recommendation.

Vignette is great. Camera 360 does a few things better but if I ha to pick one...
Based on the posts in this thread I've been using Vignette for a few days and LOVE it.
One of the things I was really disappointed with in the phone was the picture quality, that disappointment has completely gone away with Vignette.
I didn't like that I had to keep going back to the home screen to switch from camera to video, but then I found the option to turn on the video button to switch with one tap.. awesome!
I'm pretty impressed. It didn't seem that much different from FX Camera when I looked at the previews, but once I opened it up - WOW!
I just purchased Vignette, and I'm finding it a huge improvement over the default camera app. However, I'm having trouble deciding what the best everyday settings are. Any ideas from you folks?
I second Mikerrrrrrrr's request, I got Vignette but I'm not sure how to use it effectively yet.
So far I'm using no effects, 5MP fullscreen (16:9) with auto WB, auto focus, and steady shot. Does anybody have other suggestions?
Also, is there a way to manually configure exposure and ISO settings?
I'd still go for Vignette. I also deleted the generic camera app via a root uninstaller as I won't have a need for that app.
I use Camera Zoom and it's awesome. Definitely worth checking out.

I can personally vouch for Camera ZOOM FX; it has a great interface and is really good to use; it also supports high resolutions.
Does anyone remember the link for the modified version of the stock blur camera, that saves the 8mp setting after its closed?
Also - Try the HDR camera, by almalence, does a fantastic job of capturing details and putting the 3 images back together.
I like retro camera. It takes pictures then "develops" them for 30 seconds or so, and look vintage as hell.

CM7 Compatible camera?

There are tons of Camera apps in the Market. Fuzzy and Blurry sounds like you have a fingerprint on the lens. I have nothing but good things from the CM7 Camera or stock LG Camera. They both have pros and cons but neither one of them produce fuzzy or blurry pictures.
Every single camera app I've ever used has produced the same quality images. Image quality is all about your physical camera itself, not the software utilizing it. Any camera app is just going to be using the same basic Android functions anyway, the differences are purely in the UI and any post-capture activity (filters, HDR, etc)

[Q] Replacement Camera App

Hey guys, coming from the epic I an missing the great camera options it had. Does anyone have a good app they use for pictures? I'm not looking for better output, but options like panoramic and whatnot.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.
The stock ICS camera app can take panoramic shots, albeit in not very good quality. For a replacement app, I'd recommend Camera zoom FX (was on sale for 10 cents awhile ago). It really depends on what features you're looking for though.

Camera360 another good one. They have free verson
Has bunch features like touch focus

Camera360 as well here
I use an app called "Pano" for panoramic shots.

lgCamera is also a good, free alternative with lots of options.
Is there one with zoom, or is that not possible on the nexus a 4G?

I'm using Camera Zoom FX and Vignette. Both are very good i think.
Both have a Zoom but of course only a digital zoom.
If you don't have a zoomable lense (nexus phones dont have) then only digital zoom is possible, which has a poor quality and you can do better yourself on your computer.

You realize since it's a fixed lens that any zoom will only be digital? Thus it's simply like cropping a larger picture to see a smaller section...
Edit: Didn't notice blackg3cko already mentioned this. My bad.

What is the best camera App for IQ?

Hello,
How are you?
SInce I am using my note a bit more to take pictures, I was wondering if there is a camera App that is better than the stock camera in regard to overall image quality, either by lower compression of files, or by better use of the camera hardware.
So, dear note users, what is your take on this?
Thank you.
Cheers!
I use as photo application Camera ZOOM FX https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom is very good camera App :good:
I'm running Paranoid Android and find the stock Camera to be pretty poor. The best alternative I found is:
Pro Capture
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.neaststudios.procapture&hl=en
I should say though, that the stock TW camera is better.
CameraZoomFX is good if you plan to add effects and stuff to your pic's. if you want a more DSLR/professional like handling of the cam app and .png files instead of .jpeg, you should take a look at FV-5 Camera https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.lite there is also a paid version with even more features.
I'm using Pudding Camera and it's really cool but the stock app in TouchWiz is enough for daily use.
I use the Camera X or even the Shot Control Camera.. They have many customizable options like a pro at your finger tips
I am using shot control too.
Dev seems responsive according to comments.
Have emailed regarding geolocation support and custom folder support.
Other than that, it is a pretty sweet app that allows you to access features on the main screen.
So you can control ISO, and exposures, and focus modes easily.
You can also map to hardware keys.
The Note's large screen does help a little here.

@Markuzy Totally agree with you.. Shot control screen is just great on the galaxy note considering the screen size. The feature request is also just what i was looking for.
Is there any mod for the camera on the note? Like there is for the HTC One X?
Cheers

Honestly my dream camera app will be something that can do everything from HDR merging to fast capture to panorama.
Unfortunately I have yet to find an app that does all that. Only the individual apps for each feature can be found.
One thing I found out is that localized touch focus on Gingerbread Galaxy Note is proprietary to Samsung while it is native to ICS.
This may be something that you are missing out on 3rd party camera apps unless you are on ICS already.

Try Camera FV-5. It has all controll on the screen.

The LG G2X CAMERA Thread!!!

The LG G2X has an 8M-pixel camera and if you know how t o use it, it can take some fantastic pictures.
I thought I would start this thread to discuss using the G2X camera to take the best photos and videos.
First, you can see my configuration in my signature. I use the DroidWall firewall to block network access to anything that does not need network access. This includes cameras, stand-alone eBooks, the Android calendar, games, and lots more.
The camera drivers are in the kernel so your choice of kernel may affect the quality of pictures.
After comparing lots of cameras I've been using the LG Camera Pro app. It's a paid app but it's worth it. You can also get the free version which has the same functionality except it's missing some JPEG resolutions.
Nice thing about LG Camera is you can easily adjust the exposure compensation so in a dark environment you can lighten the picture and still get a terrific photo. I get the best picture by pressing the Search button (focus) then take a picture.
Autofocus on the G2X with the Trinity kernel takes a long three seconds to take a picture, which is very bad.
Video performance is great, except that you can't zoom while taking a video. That is also a function of the drivers in the kernel.
Any other experiences or advice anyone wants to share on the G2X camera?
I use cm7 camera, exposure is easy to change (usually use it at +1). I'll upload my best pic later.
