Maybe I missed it but, where is an unroot for this phone? I'm just asking... my superoneclick doesn't have it.

Look around, its closer than u think...
Are you on GB rom? Super One Click doesn't work with this device runing GB rom. To unroot it you would need to format the system partition and flash back to stock rom.

You cannot superoneclick on the GB update. I got tired of waiting for superoneclick to be updated so I went ahead and NV flashed CWM, then flashed a pre-rooted OTA GB rom. All is good now. I suggest you do the same. Plenty of guides here, and its way easier than what I thought.
Sweet..lol the question never had ginger in it. All it implied was..."is there an unroot method besides the update doing it". If I'm gonna get a replacement, I need unroot. But I have decided to keep it. The freezing up isn't that bad.
Oh, I'm nvflashed back to froyo. Gingerbread update didn't impress me.

My only quesiton is once I flash a kernal that has CWM and root and then install a rom with CWM (assuming I got that part right) if I decide I want to go back completely stock is all I have to do flash a stock version of this phone through odin? Thanks in advance

You got it. Wish it was harder but its' that easy. You can find the stock unrooted version in the dev forum. Happy rooting.
Thanks!

Its almost impossible to brick this phone....if u can get to recovery do a complete wipe and flash another rom ...if not use gtg unbrick in infuse super thread to go back to stock or one of the rooted Odin packages...

only uckk4 is corrupt. that's the one that dropped today. all the other leaks are working. look for uckk3, or better yet get the phone recovered with the stock package, get cwm, (I'd use the defuse kernel oneclick heimdall, quickest way to get cwm from stock) then flash caty rom or victory rom which will be rooted.

I have a small panic attack when I think of people flashing ROMs without knowing how to restore/unbrick. Especially leaks.

I have a G2x with the stock 2.3 rom installed. I would like to root the phone but maintain my app data. I can't use titanium backup because I don't have root. I tried installed the rooted stock 2.3 rom but lost all app data.
Any suggestions?
If all you're doing is rooting you shouldn't lose any data. You only lose data when actually flashing a ROM, not by rooting your current one.

I knew about the zip, but will superoneclick still not work on the g2x? I know it used to not work with gb, but since they updated it I know it can do some phones on gb.
I rooted a friends sgs2 stock 2.3.5 using superoneclick.

Use the nvflash method and back everything up using clokwordmod's backup option. No root required. You can also save your apps using something like App Backup and Restore from the Android Market:

Hey guys. I have a rooted Galaxy S blaze and i am running on the stock t-moible rom. I didnt install clockmod recovery or anything like that, I installed Kies on my laptop and i saw it said new firmware was available. Can i install this or do i need to be unrooted??
U can but you'll lose root. But I'd Odin back to unrooted stock just to be safe

i have had my phone for a couple months and have been trying to root it i look on youtube for guides but this phone seems to be the odd ball.... its running on 2.3.4 and i have tried (superoneclick) and (unlockroot) and none seem to work. I have heard there is a way to do it by (ADB)? If thats the only way and thats how you are going to tell me how to do please explain this has been really hard for me. thank you.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but in order to root this phone you need to flash an already rooted ROM, you must use the nvflash link that was provided for you no matter what, and then once CWM is flashed, flash a ROM.
Hope this helped!

Ding ding we have a winner. Nvflash cwm recovery then install rom. All the roms you will find here unless it specifically says for warranty purpose are rooted. Super one click hasn't worked since froyo

I rooted stock 2.3.4. IMHO what is the point of super one click if you have to flash a rooted Rom to gain root (you don't)

ill try using super one click again. if it dosent work i guess ill have to try to nv flash it again
Super one click doesn't put cwm recovery on the phone if you want rooted stock kwes has one pre made flash through cwm easy as pie guys. I dont understand why you would want your phone rooted with no recovery installed. Just makes it harder to fix if you mess up
