My phone has no data access. I thought something went wrong with my phone. I called Verizon and it seems like they are having a outage. But I don't know why 3g and 1x would be down too.
I live in Arizona and my data is out. My brother just texted me, who lives in Portland, Oregon, and he said his data is out too.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I called *611 and talked to whoever I could because tech support was closed. She said the network is down and they are working on fixing it.
Confirmed it was down in TN, AZ, OR, and CA now.

seems the valley(oshkosh,Wi) is down too, not to sure though, only have one phone with 3G/4G to test and that one's data is gone.

argh i rebooted like 20 times. this is now my 4th full ed1->ep1q->gummycharged
i guess once i get gummy back up i will wait out the outage

Supposedly the outage only affects 4g LTE phones.
Regular 3g phones are fine.
Here in las Vegas my data is out.I was abt to blame my ROM update when this thread caught my eye! Omg! I have WiFi but have never had to use it. Noooooo! =\

i don't think it's just the LTE thats down either, i just pulled my sim, rebooted, set the radio to strictly cdma...even 1x for that mater, and still no dice, so it's not just the LTE portion.
WiFi FTW!! ;p
No data in central illinois either. It isn't a radio tower problem thus it doesn't only effect 4g, or only 3g/1x. For whoever mentioned that.

For the past few hours I've been stuck in at 1X. I've tried wiping data, going back to stock, pulling the battery, pulling the SIM card and still have no luck. It sits at 1X and will go to 3G for a second and then drops it and goes back to 1X. I was flashing some ROMs earlier (BAMF 1.5, 1.5 Remix and CM7 pre-alpha) and the problem seemed to start when I flashed back to rooted stock. I flashed back to BAMF 1.5 and it's still sitting at 1X.
Any suggestions?
UPDATE: Engadget has confirmed that there is a nation wide LTE outage for TB users.

Where are you located? I just made a thread....same thing is happening to me and it's driving me nuts. I'm in NJ and i'm on stock thunderbolt.

Hmmm maybe they tried pushing an update and messed something up just for the t bolt? Don't quote me on that, as that guess is a shot in the dark. I just don't know why or how it's affecting the tbolt all over the states. If 3g is fine for other phones SHOULDN"T ours be good as well? Just tryin to understand and maybe learn a lil something.

Maybe it has something to do with the LTE sim card and something they are doing to the network. Because I'm using 3g on my laptop right now.

FYI:
I thought I lost my radio today, but there's a sporadic issue for 4G devices in non 4G areas that do not have 3G data access. I finally called CS for an update, and apparently 4G is also down in the TX/Gulf area with no ETA. txt (no attachments) and phone calls still work.
All my friends at work had data today, I was one of the lucky ones
I have been out all day. No 4g or 3g at all. Got 1x for a few minutes but went away and still down.
Data's fine here in LA just the usual dropouts

funny you posted this i was just about to do it myself i thought my sim fried or something so i flashed back to stock took it to verizon and they told me that it is down for 4g devices they can;t even activate 4g devices so i would lose my voice and text if i switched sim i live in salt lake btw...
3G is fine here in Fort Worth, couldn't tell you about 4G because I'm in CDMA only right now and too lazy to change.
EDIT: 4G is working fine too.

haahah right?! got to love those drop outs..its worst in an area that has bad 4g coverage..it will usually just stay in 3g but sometimes i get 4g...when im in a FULL 4g area i rarely get dropped out...

Same here... LTE is dead and 4G is cutting in and out.
Tried several different radios and get the same result.
One of my friends in Florida texted me awhile ago complaining about LTE cutting in and out. Apparently it was just a fluke. My LTE here in Indiana is fine.
My LTE here in Dallas is horrible right now. I can't even run a speed test on it.
I have restarted phone, shut down, even battery pulled and nothing.

Conway, AR here... I'm having terrible connectivity on HSPA+. I was actually about to change my radio. I'm using the note radio but until today I never had a problem with it. seems like I'm not the only one with issues.
Call AT&T and get added to the problem list. The more people who report it, the higher the severity it gets and the more people they assign to fix it.
Been on the phone with them for 45 minutes. They reset their end. had me check my apn's (fine of course), factory reset (pain in the a$$), and now they told me I can stop by a store and get a new sim card. They claim to have no issues in the area. kinda a pain really!
*by lack of connectivity pretty much I cant access any webpages. not even sure if I can get an mms.. kinda sucks. I doubt it has to do with the note modem I have been using. I'm flashing the new leaks modem UCLD2 to see if that helps.

I would not have done a factory reset cause that has nothing to do with it. If your service was fine yesterday and is crap today, it's their network.

Curious what radio and rom are you using? I find it odd that we are all having connectivity issues. They told me they don't have any problems with the network in my area.
Yeah I'm in Dallas and LTE is barley functioning. Took about 20 minutes to get to this thread (oh how I wish I was exaggerating). I don't even want to guess how long its gonna take to post this once I'm done typing xD

Ok, so here's what I did...
When I started having the issues this morning I was on NexusMod Beta 3 with the UCLC5 modem. I then downloaded the new modem UCLD2 and flashed it... Still no good. so I called AT&T (see brief post above)... then I figured I'd try a new rom. I downloaded the new Sky ICS UCLD2 base followed the instructions there (even reflashed the UCLD2 modem). Still no luck so I reflashed the UCLC5 modem. Now I have connectivity again. I'm going to be watching it closely over the next few hours. Not sure if this will help anyone but It's so far working for me.
My friend at AT&T just texted me, issue resolved.
I installed Shift_SensuAOSP_CM7 yesterday. I live in a rural area, but have always had 3G in roaming. Now I don't, and also in parts of town in the city that I normailly did I don't. It goes from 1x to 3G every few minutes.
Any Ideas?

Yup stock is coded to ALWAYS show at the very least 3G. So now that your on AOSP its showing you Sprints true service.

You never had 3G if your showing 1x in the same place. The ROM's that sprint puts on their phones is a lie and they make you think your always in 3G coverage no matter how crappy Sprint truly is.

That's interesting because it was always slower, but I figured it was because Verizon was capping the speed of something, but now I know it's not even on 3G at all.

Well I use Wifi at the hosue. But when I am at Walmart or something in town I use it there. Works ok, just slow. I just thought maybe I lost 3G roaming, but now I see it was never 3G.
So I can't get LTE or hspa+ to work on my n5 using at&t. MMS doesn't work either.
Hspa works fine. 6mb down and 1mb up. Which is fine for me. But still strange. This is a new at&t Sim. So its not a simcard issue. I just recently got data on my account. Because before it was just a minutes only plan and I kinda cheated the system and got a unlocked phone, simply poped my Sim in and thats it.

What ROM are you on? You should be able to go to settings/more/cellular networks/access point names then choose either ATT LTE or ATT Phone. No editing required.

Tried att phone. I found some kind of APN just now, it finds hspa but its spoty at my house so can't check for sure if I get hspa+ or LTE. But i m using cataclysm ROM. Elemental x kernel.
One thing I noticed is the only APN that works is .Cingular. Anything .att doesn't work.
Just checked. My house is covered with 4g LTE

Your might have to call ATT and have them provision the phone. They'll just need the imei.

Alright. That won't effect the plan I have? Trying to keep costs low and don't want to be charged extra for using a smart phone, they don't know I have one although online it recognizes the nexus 5 model number and imei

Last thing to check would be to make sure you have Preferred Network Type set to LTE under Cellular network settings. Other than that you might have to live with HSPA. Trust me though ATT knows damn well it's a smartphone. They may consider your plan grandfathered they may not. If they don't expect a bill from them sometime in the future.

The plan I used to be on was discontinued. And then I bough an att HTC first. Went to the store and they gave me a new Sim to fit in it and warned me I may be charged for data in the future during data sweeps. Then I had many phones after that, no data. And now this plan I can have data :/ its the mobileshare plan. And oh they know its a smartphone. They knew I had an atrix HD so....that's kinda odd.
I'm just wondering if it costs extra to have LTE vs the 3G.

No, LTE doesn't cost more than 3G. It's all part of the same data plan.
