I simply recolored the png's in an existing boot animation, and then 7zip slipped them into the existing bootanimation.zip. When it boots up, it plays the first folder in it's entirety, but the second folder, it only plays like 8 of the images in a loop, instead of all 65.
Any ideas?
Not off the top of my head, but upload the two zips if you want and I'll look at them.
Here are the 2 zips...boonanimation.zip is the stock, and the other is the recolored version.

Here is the animation, I renamed the files, rewrote the desc.txt file, and then rezipped them. Also here is a gif I made so I could see what it was supposed to look like when playing on my phone, figure you could use it sometime maybe.

There's a red version available in the Blood Red for Viper and Eaglesblood 2.3.3 theme thread. It's currently broken, to where it only plays part of the animation...it's still looks pretty cool. I haven't had time to fix it yet. Gonna mess with it this week sometimes. School and another theme we're building is taking a lot of my time right now.

i put these three boot animations together.
the first is UltimateKill, i have found a couple mentions of it already being done, but the one i downloaded didnt work on my hero and the other didnt have an attachment.
my version is abit crap, its not sized correctly, its just 160x120. i tried sizing it up, and rotating it, but the thing ended up 19mb. so this zip just has the basic gif in it.
the second is a fractal ish thing, i was googling 320x480 animated gif, it looked pretty good so i put it in a zip and thats that.. i dont have a link for this, down load it and look at the gif...
the third is haters gonna hate. same deal with it.

all three files say signed, this is because the original i lifted from the linked animation was signed, i didnt do anything to resign or verify or anything like that... so if changing a gif matters for signing, then they aint signed...
update:
all three are tooooo small.
the fractal has potential. needs resized and rotated for a better screen fit.
the haters is total crap, not sure about why.. but dont bother..

if you post the zip here Ill change the color for you, and put it in my boot animation thread. I don't have a copy of the stock boot animation though.
here is the black boot animation (quitely brilliant), this is flash-able through cwm. I recommend an nandroid back up first.

has anyone found a way to replace the bootsplash? I know it was pretty difficult on the Captivate.
I'll work on the one. It will be a little harder, I would rather use a vector program to make it but that is going to take a while to do. The problem I run into when editing stuff like this is interpolation with the pixels and it ends up looking digitized. Ill give it a shot. Yes you have to push it through abd.
I've taken it upon myself to AOSP-ize a Sense ROM in the most complete way possible. I've done pretty well so far but I seem to have hit a snag. I swiped the stock MMS app from CM6 and pasted it into myn no problem, but I can't for the life of me figure out why it's framing the black background in white:

It looks fine with the white background, but as soon as I switch to the dark the frame remains. I cycled through all the images for both my framework and the MMS app itself but I can't find anything... Thoughts? Am I missing something?
I'm not a Dev. But maybe it needs resized. Because it doesn't look like it's filling the screen

It looks like the background is set to white, with black and gray list items on top. The color setting is most likely in styles.xml or in one of the layout files.
I thought about that too knoc, but I don't think its the case because the text field stretches, and that's part of the app. I may be wrong though.

yep, looks like a draw9 patch bug to me too. something isn't stretching right.
So did you modify any xml's? Or are you just copying and paisting. The reason I ask is that by your description is sounds like the padding is all f'd up. I know there is a flashable zip that removes sense if you want that. You will have to check around on here to find it.

Only minor problem is it's a
tad bit short so i get about 10 to 15 black screen before my os boot.
I can always modify to make it loop
I thought I had set it to loop, but I guess not! I'll fix it and upload later today. It matches my bootup time exactly so I hadn't noticed yet. Thanks for letting me know.
I've updated the file linked in the original post with one that now loops properly.

Are you rooted, and your file manager set to use superuser permissions?
The process for replacing animations on Lollipop may also be different. I'm not sure.
Yeah i am rooted and i tried with es file explorer and root explorer but it keeps giving me copy failed.. And i am scared to delete the original one and put this one instead

IMO, LG G3 (the first screen) logo should stay a little bit longer..may be a little flashing or zooming in/out would complete the animation for me. Right now, I feel like that we are not 'proud' of owning a Lg G3 and therefore just want to flash G3 for a brief moment. Rest looks awesome and creates sophisticated animation. Just my two cents. Keep up the good work!
