Screen protectors - HTC Sensation

Hi guys I'm new to XDA Forum and I need suggestions on buying the right screen protector. Im looking for a screen protector that covers the screen from edge to edge dry apply, is there such screen protector like that because I've heard dry apply will lift the corners of the protector since the HTC sensations screen is concave or beveled. Hoping for suggestions and opinions. Thanks in advance.

Wet apply protectors are the best in my opinion. Skinomi or even better, zagg invisible shield.

Thanks. I'll consider this one since I haven't tried using wet apply protectors because I'm afraid of getting the phone water damaged..

Are you using or are you going to use a screen protector?

I think I'm going to go without one for the first time on any phone I've owned.
I never use them. Then again, I take very good care of my phones. Zero scratches (scratch resistance screens, of course).

I always put my phone into my pocket with keys and or other things in there. Even though I'm careful there are times when I'll forget it and put it in. Even though it won't scratch cause we have Gorila glass but I'd still like to have the piece of mind knowing my screen won't be damaged.
I had the myTouch 4G before thid and never installed a screen protector until I got a deep scratch and always been anal since then.

I went to the t-mobile store and bought a new rubber gel case and a 2pack screen protector from them. Surprisingly, I haven't put the protector on yet, cause the screen on this baby is gorgeous! Also, since it has gorilla glass, it shouldn't be a problem at all.
I'm using the one that came on the phone. When I get tired of looking at the air bubbles ill take it off.

I haven't used a screen protector since my Mytouch 3G. I am very careful with my phones and haven't dropped one is years. I think screen protectors take away from touch sensitivity along with dulling the colors of the display.
I never use screen protectors with any of my Gorilla glass devices. But I do use front covering hard cases when going out!
I guess a case yes but not a screen protector. The screen is good enough would be a pity to mess it with a protector.
I've got the tmobile brand screen protectors on , it looks good but the screen protectors scratch easy, already have scratches where I rub the screen most. Thinks about just ditching the screen protectors.

as soon as i purchased the phone i went to zagg.com and bought a full body invisible shield. its military grade and protects against scratches and such. just dont drop your phone. my nexus one looks out of the box thanks to the zagg invisible shield.
I've been using mine without it but if one comes out I like I'll get it.
I like being extra careful with my phone, especially the screen.
but what worries me more is if someone asks to borrow the phone, say female family member, and use the phone with earrings on...
non that are out now really satisfy me.
either too thin and scratch, or doesn't stick right/form at the edges causing bubbles.
has to feel right to the touch too...
Screen protectors?
I'm not at all concerned about damaging my screen but what I like about the matte finish protectors is that it provides a smooth surface for you finger and there are no fingerprints.
I put one on because it's one of those that reduce glare and I like it...it actually helps reduce glare. I also bought one of those zagglike protectors on eBay for 5 bucks so I can cover the bank of the phone and not get it all scratched up when in my pocket...helps with resale 5 months later when I get the Nexus 3

As a fresh owner of the Sensation, will not use one. But looking fwd to get a nice pouch

Its bare right now but waiting on fantomskinz to come out with one for our device. Zagg like protection without the orange peel.
I would use the screen protector I had a previous sensation that was all screwed up. Needless to say I had it for about 20 hours kept in my hd2 pouch and wouldn't u know a frigging scratch

you obviously don't need screen protectors for gorilla glass, its not the matter of "taking good care of your phone", but FINGER PRINTS AND SMUDGES are the worst! thats the only reason i put protectors on my phones or ipads. i ordered one yesterday on amazon.
Didn't use one on my previous phone (HTC Desire, still looks like it was bought yesterday), not going to use one on the Sensation either.
The thing more to worry about is the solid back made of aluminium. While it seems as solid as advertised, mine already features visible scratches, and I don't put it together with keys. It's the brown colour I suppose...

Does the tmobile sensation screen protector lift at the edges?

I was wondering if the screen protector at the tmobile store leaves air at the edges like all other screen protectors

Have them install it there. It only covers the display screen, it doesn't go over the full screen. It doesn't reach the round edges.
Your display is made from Gorilla Glass. You don't need a screen proctor, unless you don't like being able to see your screen clearly.
I use a invisible shield. I hate how the screen is curved at the border.
Yes. It lifts up around the edges over time. At least mine did.

Doesn't mean it's scratch-proof. I have phamtomskinz on and it's still clear.

oh so its smaller than the ones that are sold on ebay?
like they don't go all the way to the curves so it doesn't bubble up?

IIRC, the T-Mobile ones don't go to the curved edges.
I've used the official HTC ones and they cover the curved edges. They are so precisely cut its a pain in the arse to get them on! Not easy to get the edges down though. If you want one that is easy for the edges, look at liquid application ones.

The original skin supplied with my Sensation fit the screen perfectly. Unfortunately, the store rep did a less than stellar job of applying it. It was peeling up within a week. The aftermarket skins TMO sells do not cover the entire screen. So I purchased a Skinomi skin.

I have the official HTC one and mine doesnt cover the entire screen. Theres a 1mm gap from the edges of the screen. Maybe they redesigned them? It was pretty easy to put on and its been a week and no edges have come up yet, although I did use a hair dryer to heat the SP before applying it and while it was applied.
How much of the screen does it cover? Like just the part where the actual screen is and the capacitive buttons?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
I tried it and its not worth buying. First it only covers the flat area of the screen it doesn't cover the beveled edges, second no matter how careful you put the protector bubbles will still show up, third the protector can easily be scratched. So if I were you spend urs money on some other screen protector although I haven't found one yet that covers the whole screen.

Yes they do lift at the edges and get air underneath I still have the original screen protecter that came with mine I'm looking into a higher quality screen protecter now

Same here I got my phone replaced and still have the plastic on the screen that came with the phone. I hope somebody will point us to what screen protector that covers the screen from edge to edge that does not lift nor bubble
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I've had the T-Mobile protector since the release of the phone on TMO, and while there were some slight issues on application that caused the tiniest bubble in the top-right corner of my screen, I have not had any issues since then.
The protector is not peeling and is still as rock-solid as the first day. It doesn't cover the complete front face of the phone, however. There's about 2-3 millimeters of edge around the phone where the glass curves upward (that design, while nice looking, really kills most screen protectors).
screen protecter
The srceen protector is to protect the main screen as we all know is plastic gorilla glass is plastic and it isn't scractch resistant

[Q] gorilla glass

How about gorilla glass in u sensations? U have any scratches?
I have had my Sensation for a couple of months now, but I am very pleased with the screen!
No scratches!

nonetheless, we've heard some cases where it gets scratches. I'm using sgs ultra oleophobic, you can't tell it is there, highly recommended.
TouchPal'ed from my GT-I9100 using xda app.
CheckROM + SiyahKernel = gg
I bought a 2nd hand sensation from Ebay with 'perfect' screen - I can confirm that gorilla glass can be scratched to hell and back so it does need looking after.

Screen protector help

Looking for a good screen protector that feels natural and is clear. I have a Realook screen protector for my s2 and it works great. Can anyone give me some suggestions

Best dry screen protector

I need opinions on the best dry apply protector. Ones that dont scratch as easy... I know they are plastic and will scratch, but are there any a little more resistant to being scratched.
The ones I have been using are the 3 pack ones from Walmart.

Do anti-glare screen protectors make the screen pixels look all weird? I had this shortcoming with the S3.
I had the Walmart ones too, but they scratched easy on mine too, plus they're a little shorter than the screen. This is what I got, for couple months now and no scratches so far:

Most protectors that come 3 in a pack are going to be junk, and get scratched up in a month. Just spend a bit more, and it won't scratch, and it will last much longer. When I've spend $15 or so on a dry type, they've lasted over a year with no significant scratches. The better quality ones resist fingerprints much better, as well. I've had good luck with Bodyguardz in the past (with my Desire Z). But I haven't used one on the One X.
Why dry type specifically? Dry type will not adhere properly to the curved edges of the One X's screen. Been using the same Skinomi protector on my One X since May, and it still looks like new.
I have been applying the wet apply on iphones foe a while but for some reason the ones that are exact fit to this screen are hard for me to line up.
I'll prob I've the wet ones a go again.... You recommend the skinomi?

Yeah, I like the Skinomi. Plenty of comparable high-quality wet apply brands out there. But Skinomi is what I've had on my One X and HTC Flyer, and both have been great.
I had pretty good luck getting the Skinomi on. Actually find the wet apply to be easier to line up than the dry apply. The liquid allows the protector to be moved around a bit or slid into place. Then you can squeegee it down when its correctly lined up. With dry apply, you have to get it lined up just right as you are starting. Even then, if it looks right as you are starting, it often ends up being off by millimeters by the time your work your way to the other end.
Not to be off topic, but I have the Invisible Shield by Zagg. It's a wet application, but it was very easy. The trick is to get your hands fully wet, and get a lot of water on the screen protector too. Then it gets really easy to put in. Just be sure to squeegee AWAY from the speakers!
I have not yet found one dry protector worth a damn.
I have never had any luck with the dry stick on type of screen protectors. I bought the ArmorSuit on Amazon for 10 bucks and it has worked really well. It comes with a applicator spray, squeegee and cloth and is guaranteed. It has a little notch in it for the sensor on the top right of the screen. If it starts to lift or bubble you can just peel it off and spray it and your hands down and reapply, I have done it once in 5 months.
i also have the skinomi screen protector, and its definitely keeping my screen looking nice!
funny enough this threads convinced me to get a wet apply protector.
