Hello everyone,
I have just bought myself a Desire S.
I have learned how to get to the HBOOT Menu.
I really do not understand what do every selection do on this menu!!
I need to back up my system, in case something goes wrong
How to do this?
My phone is S-On, un-rooted
I do not plan to root it.
Thank you very much.
EDIT: ANYONE WITH SOME HELP PLEASE?
Anyone can even point me to the right thread ?!

Hi all,
I've finally given up on trying to fix the wifi, no software fix for this issue is available.
Heres my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302347
So! My question is how do i return to stock? I've been through the removing s-off, basically by flashing an official ruu, but it remained s-off and it read locked at the top of the screen within the bootloader (white writing on pink)
I don't think HTC will accept this so did i do something wrong? Or is this it? If the bootloader reads s-off then i can only assume that they will return it to me, making me very sad
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi,
Have you tried playing with the connectors when you take the back off the phone?
I believe that the 1St connector above camera is for wifi.
Try putting a bit of silver foil to make a better connection, and see if that helps.
Hi everybody... I hope there's some smart people out there.
I've used this thread to downgrade (or try to) the RUU to an older HBOOT, so that the bootloader could get unlocked using revolutionary.
Everyhing was going smoothly until the install of new RUU. It stopped at 22 % without any reason and made an error. Now I'm stuck at the HTC logo, still S-ON and nothing has been done - other than bricking my phone.
Anybody got a great idea what to do know?? Just to make it work again?
Thanks.

you might want to try factory reset, Boot the phone holding down the volume + power and then factory reset. This worked for me, when my phone went on continuous loop and with HTC screen and my operators logo.
let me know how you go, and i would wait for a better solution for getting root on the newer versions rather than carrying an expensive paperweight.
cheers!

Sorry for being rude, but the smart people are usually reading Guides before downgrading
I rooted my HTC Desire S after downgrading it's HBOOT from 2.00 to 1.47 something. I was not satisfied by using customised ROMs with lots of bugs so I flashed stock ROM HTC Saga Asia India and then updated it by mistake or you can say foolishly. Now my phone is not booting and it is stopped on logo screen. I tried to use recovery but it just wiped data and and reboots when I select Install Zip from sd card.
Any fix for this? I have to go to HTC care center or it can be sorted out at home? Thanks in advance.
hi,
i thing you have been flashed wrong RUU, or your procedure is wrong,
have you know your phone's cid
post here your phone's cid, anyone suggest you which ruu file you have to flash.
If you could explain properly and in proper readable font, what steps exactly did you perform to reach this phone state - people would help. As it is, my eyes hurt from looking at your post, I only see huge letters and can't read anything out of them.
it's same case with me..
and now i need some help too

I suggest you read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...[GUIDE] How to be a New User (and not a noob)
I know you've been told to stop tagging your problems on the bottom of others, if I've noticed your posts then I'm sure a mod has.
Hey everyone, I was trying to root a friends evo shift, i dont think it worked.
Right now its looping from the htc screen to the sprint screen and back.
I've been looking at these forums cant really find any help as the device is old, but any help would be greatly appreciated !
Edit: I can get into the hboot menu if that helps ?
Are you s off or s on rooted?
stare into oblivion
Fall into sleep
And what root method did you use? I seem to remember a bootloop being triggered in at least on of them.
Hi guys im a total noob who rooted his phone (which took about 4 hours btw) a while back so i can not remember anything so if you help please do it in simple terms please lol
Ok so i have a htc one m8 , fastboot on my computer and i have found out that the cidnum is VODAP001 and the version_main is 3.29.161.9, other than that i aint a clue what to do next to to put the stock recovery on so i can update my phone so i can then re-root,
Do i need a specific recovery version? if so can you point me in the right direction? and once i installed the stock recovery can i just go to software update on my phone to update it
Thanks guys
Someone must know
Can anyone help at all?
