This has happened on LeeDroid's and the Senseless Extreme ROMs. All of my sync accounts (Facebook, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Gmail, and G+) will just stop syncing. You can't manually sync them, and it shows their last sync as sometime yesterday. This naturally makes my phone unusable as I don't get my Gmail on it. Has anyone had this problem, and what did you do to fix it?

This happened to me twice, all I did was reinstalled gmail and it started working.

Hey Guys,
I am having "Force Close" when I try to sync my contacts with google account. I am running stock build and not even rooted. Suddenly yesterday I had a force close and I tried to wait for a day, also restarted my phone twice between yesterday and today. Then I tried to dig into the problem and realized that it was a problem with contacts syncing. If I remove check mark from contacts and sync there is no problem. But when I try to sync contacts it gets force close.
I have plenty of apps on it and also plenty of customization. I do not want to do factory reset. I had set this phone up for about 25-30 days now. No problems untill now.
Please some one help me. Oh and it is my primary google account.

Somebody in this thread is saying that there is a problem with Google's sync, but I don't know if it is the same issue. Maybe try waiting it out for a day?
Also if you try a different Google Account does it have the same problem?
I don't know about that. As I have too many contacts. and my another email is just junk. It's only for fun stuff. So I can't check synching problems with that account.

if you are trying to sync contacts with your google.com account. google is having a global issue. I work for tmo so can confirm. no eta just keep trying.
I had this problem yesterday morning, but all has been fine since.

Has anyone had this issue since the update where the sync icon permanently shows.
I have disabled every sync in accounts and then rebooted and i still get the same thing...... arggghh
Strangely, my flyer is now doing the same thing, does anyone have any ideas???

instead of rebooting hit the power button and restart that will shut down every app to its normal state

ok try turning off data then restart the phone see if that works with no data it cant sync
This is being discussed in another thread.
1.Disable automatic syncing.
2.Sync manually once. Then re-enable syncing.
Still doing it? disable the syncing of 'watch' in accounts and sync.
This should cure it and credit to the posters in the other thread for this fix

This did not seem to work for me. When you say manual sync do you mean go into each listed item and hit the sync now button?
Watch is and never was auto sync in my handset.
Any help would be great or the pointer to the other thread!

Well had a play and it seems if I stop the auto sync, cancel the existing sync and turn auto sync back on it works fine.
I can only think on startup there is an issue with one of them, not got the time to work out which at this point, could be linkedin for HTC as I do use that. Will try it fist and let you know.

Ok,
I noticed my battery was being killed quite alot and i couldnt work out why, then my mate relised my phone is constantly syncing the whole time.
now i have already turned off auto-sync, gone through all my accounts, turned most apps to sync manaually and also got juice defender and canceled a few apps (like stocks) disabled to connecting.
Now i noticed every time i restart my phone, it comes up saying syncing in task bar at top. now if i go to accounts all the sync symbols are all greyed out (black shows its syncing). I cant seem to find what the is atcually syncing. But the button at the bottom says cancel sync, i press that and it all stops syncing.
My problem i have is i think its my google account which is stuck doing contacts, but i want to know why it doesnt it stop syncing, it almost gets caught in lop and stays on complete the whole time the phone is on unless i manually stop it??
Can anyone help me?

EDITED - Also just noted that my enhanced email hotmail account is under as exchange, it could this that is stuck as sync. although when i cancel all syncing i still get emails?

EDITED - Ok little more update, if i go to accounts and sync, cancel sync, Everything stops syncing. Then i go through like facebook, exchange, google and sync now, it comes up in task bar syncing and then dissappears afterwards when finished. So question is what is getting stuck syncing everytime i retsart my phone??
No one has any ideas??

Well i think its because of htc sense account...remove it...it might help...on my sensarion it used to sync continously and make copy of all my contacts again and again...so i just login with the google, facebook for htc sense, facebook, exchange, htc sense one by one to find out who is the culprit...and it was htc sense..

Got a strange issue with my sensation, a couple times a month all the pictures in my contacts are missing.....
these pics are synct from my facebook account...
When i open up my fb app after this i need to login again and re-sync my contacts.
Don't no why but it seems android or facebook won't remember my login permanent :silly:

I have the exact same problem but don't know what's causing it. I think it has something to do with an error in Android's autosync. It acts similarly to what happens to when I change my facebook password and usually occurs at times when other apps also have trouble syncing, making me think the sync error causes the facebook app to believe the authentication token it has is invalid and so it asks for your password again. This is just my best guess though. Anyone else have any ideas?

I'm having a problem with my account syncing to my phone. When I go into my sync settings I get the, "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." error at the bottom. I receive emails and am able to go on the play store just fine, but everything else isn't really working, especially my calendar.
I've recently changed roms-from Bam Android to Pacman-but I've had this problem for about a week before I changed, and its been almost two weeks now.
I've tried everything. Factory reset, disabling and re enabling accounts, clearing caches, downloading third party apps. But my calendar and contacts still won't sync-though I don't really care about the contacts one. In fact calendar isn't even in my sync list to be checked. Why is that? And can someone help me?

I'd personally check with the developer of the ROM you're using.
I'll try that but I personally think it's on Google's end. Cause it was acting like this on a different rom I was on, and now, all of a sudden my Play Store isn't syncing. I need to find a way to contact Google.
