Speaker is not working! - HTC Sensation

Hi all,
I just recently flashed Bosnia's Senseless Extreme 2.0 ROM and everything worked great. Now for some odd reason today my speaker just stopped working. Ringtones, youtube, music..ect
Headphone works, talking on the phone works.. its just my speaker is not producing any sounds!
Can someone help!?

Make backup , wipe data/ factory reset before flashing. dalvik cache and fix permissions after flash of rom. Let sit for 10 min.. Make sure you reboot once before installing all your apps. What sound apps you got on your phone? Any? In other words what im asking is do you have any other apps besides the one in settings that controls volume settings or enhances volume?

[Q] Can anyone help me with this COREDROID download please?

I have been trying to download this coredroid @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858418 but don't know where to download it exactly. It took me to the coredroid home site when I pressed download, n I downloaded v1.4, but when I flash it via cwm recovery and reboot it to install it from my sd card I get an error message. I forgot what the error message said. I have downloaded other roms I had to flash, n they worked great! Only having problems with this one... Can someone please give me the direct link to download this? Because I really like it and want to use it on my phone. By the way I have a rooted HTC INSPIRE 4G. Thanks!
You downloaded the one for a different phone. Here they are.

I have HTC inspire 4g! Remove the spaces from the link above.
Ok. Did you wipe your phone first or just flashed the ROM? Just asking because I'm running RCMix 3d right now. Should I do a wipe first or just flash n should i update my ROM manager before I flash coredroid 8?........ Well, nevermind about the questions because it just want work on my phone. The home screen won't even show it says loading and then the screen blanks out and loading pops right back up. I can get into the stuff that's on the lock screen by pulling it to the ring, and I can get to my setting by pulling down the notification bar. I can't access any of the home screens because loading keeps popping up. Why is that? I tried the one you posted above also, still the same as the other ones I have tried. :/ I really like this rom though, maybe it'll be fixed and working properly soon. Oh yeah I did a hard reset on my phone by holding down the down button and power button and tried to flash it afterwards, but still the same thing.
I am New to this game as well, but try and do a clean install wipe all the settings and things like that from the recovery menu then install zip from sd card and see if that works.
I have wiped it from the rom manager, but the home screen still stayed on loading and I can never get to the home screen because of loading blanks out n appear again.

As I'm having the same issue after loading the HTC Desire HD v8.0 update please share what you did to fix this issue.
After I put CoreDroid on my SD card I went to rom manager and went to install zip from SD card, then go down to whatever ROM you're putting on your phone click on it... if your coming from another ROM clear Dalvik cache and wipe data cache, but if your not coming from another ROM just check wipe data and cache. Then press ok then it should flash and reboot on it's own. Let me know if this works for you.

If you're going from one ROM to another, you should always do a full wipe of everything or you'll run into trouble eventually. Installing a minor revision update of the same ROM usually doesn't require wiping anything unless the developer says otherwise.
I was just telling him how I did mines, n I didn't come from a different ROM that's y I didn't clear Dalvik cache I only wiped data n cache. By the way a developer did tell me to wipe my data if coming from a different ROM to start fresh... So now with that being said, @ henry, should I clear Dalvik cache and wipe data and cache every time I switch to a different ROM from ROM manager???

I am running a previous Coredroid release, so I would think that all I'm doing is an update, did you do the cache and dalvik clear after the update or before?
Before, then I deleted it and put a different ROM on here, after I took that ROM off I downloaded CoreDroid again and put it back on here. So yes, I cleared Dalvik cache and wipe data.

Not saying wipe your data though since you're still using CoreDroid.

ended up having to do a data wipe after all, couldn't get out of the reload loop otherwise. /sigh
Oh sorry, glad you have it working.

[Q] Home and search button stopped responding?

Hey guys,
I'm running the Octane ROM on my SGS4G, and suddenly both my home and search touch keys stopped functioning. However, they ARE triggering haptic feedback (a vibration in the phone when pressed)
Does anyone know what causes this and what's a common trouble shooting route?
I updated my binary in super user and updated busybox...nothing changed.
Also, I don't know if this is related to the problem but it happened at the same time: text msg notifications are permanently as if the phone is on silent; no sound or vibration. Just a status bar icon.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, this phone is my only daily.

Have you rebooted the phone? If so, I'd suggest doing a backup then performing a factory data reset.
Yea I rebooted several times..
could I just wipe the dalvik?
If I only do that, what information is lost on my phone?
Also the update from busy box said it might require I do a package reinstall "without" a factory wipe for the update to take effect... Any suggestions on that?

You could always try wiping caches first. No data loss that way. The Davlik cache will rebuild itself over time.
I'm nto sure about BusyBox, though. Maybe someone else has an idea?
What about the cache partition?
I guess my question is, what exactly are you wiping when you wipe the dalvik and when you wipe the cache partition?
and is it a safe practice for when strange problems like this arise?
Just wiping the cache.completely safe and the first thing to try after a reboot.also I would suggest fixing permissions when clearing the cache

Well I found the answer to what they both are Here
Figured I'd post it for anyone who every comes across this thread.
But thank you for going into more detail about it Somairotevoli.
where is it i fix permissions? In super user you mean?
And i just finished doing a full wipe =/
fixed the problem...but just sucks. Im glad i removed the SD card before hand, I think it tried to format it.
Does a factory wipe touch any SD files?

Fix permissions in the advanced option of cwm
And no factory reset does not wipe sd unless you tell it to when you're doing it from your settings menu

ah, gotcha.
Wish I woulda have tried that before wiping.
Another question: After the wipe, I lost all the fonts that were originally there after I first installed Octaine ROM.
I'm thinking I should just reinstall the package, but I'm afraid I cant remember if I had to disable VOODOO lagfix first and whether or not i still have to change the mounting points before i reinstall the rom..

Glad you got it working though sucks you had to wipe everything. To be safe I would disable voodoo though I do not know if it's necessary. Definitely go into CWM and re-check the mounts first before flashing.
Well, unfortunately, after a full wipe... everything worked fine for one day... then suddenly the phone froze and restarted. After reboot, some apps had the android image on their icon and ALL OVER my wallpaper was a skull and cross bones image...cascaded in rows and columns all over the background..
and ofcourse.. my home and search buttons are non-functional once again...
What does this mean??

I'm running the Octane rom too, and have started having problems with all four buttons, but mainly the outside settings and search ones. Other roms do the same for me now, so I don't think it's the problem. I have fully wiped, reformatted, fixed permissions, you name it.
It dosen't seem to matter what happens, they still resist working properly. So are you saying that doing a wipe/reinstall/permission fix did it for you? I can't tell if it's a physical thing or a software thing, but I'm leaning more toward software.

You should probably re download your desired rom, do a full wipe (data, cache, and dalvik) and re flash. this sucks but should work. Did you by chance ever flash a kf series 2.3.3 ROM?

After the wipe did you install a new ROM or stay on Octane? Maybe try wiping & install Raver's KJ6 stock via Odin or CWM. Run stock for a few days and see if the problems persist.

[Q] HTC Music player stop working and no phone tonality when making a call

Hello guys,
Yesterday I have downloaded and installed Beats Audio™ Installer for CWM from Google Play for my HTC Sensation 4G.
Unfortunately it didn't work for me and worse, when I enter the "Sound Enhancer" , I get the following message, "Music has stopped unexpectedly. Would you like to tell HTC?" Force Close or tell HTC
I have also noted that when I am making a Phone call, I hear a weird sound instead of the normal tonality.
In fact, the worst part is that I didn't make a backup of my stock ROM. So I am desperately trying to fix it but in vain :-( I have wiped cache partition, wiped data/factory reset, wiped Dalvik cache and even performed a Factory Reset but it didn't help.
As I am a newbie, I was wondering if some smart guys could help me!
Thanks in advance
flash a different rom with beats built in?
You mean the solution to fix everything is to flash my stock ROM with a custom one?
Here's the thread for mod you have installed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525226
You can go through it to find out if anyone else is having the same problem.
Am a newbie myself, but i dont think the Sensation 4G is one of the tested devices for this mod.

how to unflash?

I recently flashed the snapdragon extreme sound enhancer mod, and I don't see where it took effect at all.. maybe it didn't do right or I'm missing something, but I have a horrible time in phone calls lol. Echo and a tank sound.. read the thread and its a known bug, but I want it off.. any way I can "unflash" this without wiping everything? I mean I can wipe and reflash cleanrom and all that, but I'd rather not go through the titanium restore process if I don't have to!!!! I searched but there's no clear answer.. only guys that help get the mod to work. I just want it OFF lol

You probably don't need to do a wipe. Just wipe dalvik and cache and then dirty flash CleanROM on top of it. As always though, make sure you make a backup just in case!

[Q] Speaker is dead

I can still hear if I use the regular handset, but I can't hear the phone ring, play music, or use speaker phone.
It was working one minute and gone the next. Stock rooted, ICS.
Hardware or software?
Happen to anyone else?

Happened to my wife on CM-10 nightly but a newer nightly fixed it (Probably Kernel issue) :good:
Try the usual: wipe dalvik and cache partition (make sure you dont have quiet hours set) If all else fails, wipe dalvik and cache partition and FORMAT System and reflash.....Data will be untouched.
Hope this helps you.
