I was wondering if there was a way to get all the youtube videos when clicked on in opera 9.7 to open in the youtube application. Opera used to open the mobile version of you tube which would link to the youtube application when I chose a link from google, now however, It links to the youtube site and I get the flash error message.
I'm going to flash a new ROM onto my HTC HD2 soon when they get the HSPL sorted, which will hopefully restore this function of opera. However, I was wondering if anyone knew in the mean time how to change this in the settings.
I personally cannot find anything in opera:config.
Also when there are embedded youtube videos in websites is there a way to click on them to get them to open in the youtube application?
I've tried installing flash for opera on my phone. Which I think is what changed this setting. I removed it because it caused problems with Opera crashing.
I've also tried searching for this in google and this site but all I can find is people wanting to do the opposite, open youtube in opera.
Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong place, but I cannot seem to download videos from Youtube using the latest Dolphin Browser on my N1.
To clarify, I went to m.youtube.com on WIFI, searched for the video that I want, clicked it, then clicked Download This Video in the pop-up. I then saved the file as video.mp4. However, nothing happens, nothing is added to the download list, and nothing along the lines of video.mp4 appears in Astro.
Anyone can advise on this?
^ does your program have anything to do with Android? I don't think it is what he's asking for
if you want to download youtube, why not use Tube Downloader in the market, it is free

Hello All. Noob here. I've searched the forums as well as google and not found a problem quite like mine. When using Facebook For Android, when I click on a youtube video link, the "Complete Action Using" dialog opens, but the Youtube option is no longer present. The only options are:
Dolphin Browser HD
Dolphin Browser Mini
Internet
Opera Mini
I have checked all of those as well as the Youtube app and none of them have any default setting.
Please advise me on how to get the youtube option to return
Thanks in advance!
*My apologies. Just realized I did not place this in the Q&A Section*
NM. I uninstalled/reinstalled the update and the YouTube option returned.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
moved to proper section
And now the YouTube option is gone again. WTH?

I am getting the same problem now too. I used to play videos from fb with the youtube app as well. Could be a facebook v1.6.1/1.6.2 problem
seems to be fixed in the fb update today, 1.6.4
I can view anything at or above 360p from YouTube via default or dolphin browser?
The default YouTube app sucks dong cuz it buffers forever and I can't change quality of video...
If anyone know why I can't choose 360p in browser please let me know.
In the YouTube app there is HD button to switch between SD HD.
If you visit the desktop version of YouTube on the xoom you will have the same options as you would on your computer.
If you don't know how to do that search for about:debug ua string.

I am running desktop UA but YouTube would not play anything above 360p in browser.
Is it only me?
I prefer YouTube in browser than the dumb app.
Same issue here, seems to have just started a couple of days ago as it worked fine before when watching 720p in the browser. Now no videos work in pluse, stock browser or dolphin. Just get "an error, try back later". So then I click to go to the YouTube page for the video and still does not work. The only way to work is to swtich the ua string to android, I use the dolphin toggle extension but it is very annoying to have to do this all the time, I don't want to view mobile site on my tablet. Wtf is Google doing this, why block tablets from seeing HQ video, the main differentiation between their offerings and the ipad.
My guess, something to do with copyright. I personally think that its stupid to block mobile video in the first place.
I have had no issues. 720p plays in browser. Check your settings for playback on the YouTube site. If that don't work. Clear data for browser. That will loose all your bookmarks etc though.

Got the same problems myself now.

R u using desktop ua or android?
I have no problems with it either way. If its android it just loads the mobile then I click on open desktop site. When on desktop it just goes right to desktop of course. No issues.
Cant watch any videos on the desktop site now.

You should be able to watch 240p
You're right, but that sucks.
Are you guys having the problem with stock Adobe Flash or only the modified version of Adobe Flash for hulu.com support?

Youtube doesn't even play for me with the flash from manta rom...
I have the modified hulu version.
am also using modified hulu version....
In my version of the hulu flash, all I modified was the version number and from Android to Windows so unless youtube now actually verifies the version number along with the version type, that may be the reason. There is a new version of Adobe Flash released yesterday, I will modify it as usual and will report the results here since I can't do much with hex editing as that is the only known hack.

can you post please because I would like to watch YT on my xoom again.
If you all are still having troubles with your Youtube on the Stock Browser, Dolphin, Opera, or Firefox, can you please give me some more details on your settings?
When you say "Desktop Browser" are you refering to www.youtube.com and forcing it to stay that way or is it going to www.youtube.com and then changing to the mobile version, m.youtube.com?
(Only Stock Browser) Have you done the "Aboutebug" (Without quotes) mode and change your browser to LOOK like a desktop UI?
~~If you are using the "Aboutebug" Mode, are you running on Wi-Fi only or are you running 3g?
(Dolphin/Opera Browsers only) Have you gone in and changed the settings to make it look like a Desktop Browser or are you still allowing it to display as a Android Device?
When the videos do work, have you tried to clear your Cache and History to keep the information in the buffer low when you are just getting ready to watch videos/just after you are done watching videos? (I ask because I noticed on my Wi-Fi Stock Rooted Rom that if you do not use the Youtube App, it bogs down the Cache and the History just gets cluttered...)
Are you making sure there are not other applications running too and choking out the Browser UI's? (aka, getting a task manager and killing apps before you go into another app)
I hope to help you out, as well as others in the near future (be it advice or with the same problem) and get this problem resolved!
Thank You for the information in advance! ^_^
Sure,
When you say "Desktop Browser" are you refering to www.youtube.com and forcing it to stay that way or is it going to www.youtube.com and then changing to the mobile version, m.youtube.com?
=> No, I'm using desktop UA string so it is always www.youtube.com. I have to manually go to m.youtube.com.
(Only Stock Browser) Have you done the "Aboutebug" (Without quotes) mode and change your browser to LOOK like a desktop UI?
~~If you are using the "Aboutebug" Mode, are you running on Wi-Fi only or are you running 3g?
=> I have WIFI xoom so WIFI only.
(Dolphin/Opera Browsers only) Have you gone in and changed the settings to make it look like a Desktop Browser or are you still allowing it to display as a Android Device?
=> Yes, I am using desktop UA in dolphin as well. I don't see why using mobile UA on the tablet is usefull at all.
=> Videos ONLY WORK for me at 260p....doesn't matter whether I clear cache or history.
Are you making sure there are not other applications running too and choking out the Browser UI's? (aka, getting a task manager and killing apps before you go into another app)
=> Yes, rebooted and only running browser...tried many many times.
Any solution to play Amazon Instant Video on android ICS (HTC ONE S)? There is no app in the market for some reason. The only app available is for kindle fire. The app was extracted from the kindle fire and is available on this website if you do some search.
It installs on HTC ONE S (not rooted, T-mobile). You can search and browse videos but when video is selected to play there is a message 'unfortunately, amazon video has stopped' 'ok'
Amazon video can't be played thru stock broweser as it says it need flash player, and flash player is installed! You can play it thru Dolphin browser with add-on dolphin toggle desktop/mobile. However, the quality is choppy and can't be used as this.
I have tried the above option over Wi-Fi and 4G. Same results.
Other threads suggest that we might never have such option since kindle fire is not working on ICS platform. I got this. However, is there any other option that could be used or third party made app not related to kindle fire. etc?
And, yes I know we can use netflix but I like amazon instant video selection more than my cancelled netflix. Also, amazon has free video for prime shipping members.
Thank you.
This works on the Galaxy Nexus, but I make no promise that it will work for you.
Install flash
Open the stock browser (Chrome Beta will not work)
Go to amazon.com
open the browser menu and select Request Desktop Site*
The page will reload
scroll to the bottom of the page and click "amazon full site"
The desktop version of amazon will now load.
Browse to the instant video section of amazon and select the video you want and watch it just like you would on a desk top browser.
Once the video loads, click the full screen button
Enjoy
*I do not know where this is listed in the HTC stock browser or how it is labled. If you can not find this option, you might try downloading a browser based on the stock browser from the Play store, like ICS Browser+ or Quick Browser. Both of them have options to set your user agent to desktop
