[Q] Archos G9's - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I'm looking forward to the release of the new Archos G9 tablets, I already have an Archos 101 and I was wondering if the G9 was going to be the same physically? Or are there physical changes with it?
And also, what does everyone think about the Archos 80? I'm not sure on the whole 4:3 thing..
Thanks

why not just go to the archos website and just read up on it. the g9 series will be far better than the g8

Two new Archos Android tablets

Archos is said to have two new Android tablets on track for CeBIT
I have high hopes for these tablets. If they have reasonable specs and a low price and I will have one. My only requirement is that they are wi-fi capable so I can tether it to my Hero on the go.

Off topic
I prefer one of this ones:

Yep, that Archos 9 is very cool
Got me thinking about how cool it would be to tether a windows 7 slate. Depending what the final specs and price are when the Lbook T9 is released this march,I may go that route.http://www.slashgear.com/lbook-t9-multitouch-windows-7-slate-tipped-for-350-in-march-0759451/

[Q] Install Archos Multimedia Applications on Android Phones

I have a Captivate and recently bought a Archos 32 for my daughter. The device is ok for the price and it has an amazing Multimedia Application. I wish my Captivate had something similar! I tried a few apps but even though they let me browse all the file on my network, the video players are really bad.
The Archos 32 access all the media on my PCs and on my DNS323 (NAS). And it plays everything, it's really amazing!
So I was wondering if it would be possible to install that on any other Android device, and more specifically on the Captivate.
I'm really surprised nobody have thought about that yet
I asked the same question over at archosfans forum and no, you cant because archos changed something in android itself to make work... i wonder if the new multimedia apps for G9 HC 3.2 (due to late Setember 2011) will need those framework changes too or if they will run on other tablets.
Would love to see their multimedia apps on my TF101
That's funny how my $150 Archos can do that stuff and my $500 Captivate can't... well...

Android Tablet that supports USB audio

Hi all,
I'm in need of an android tablet that supports a USB audio in device. Has anyone tried this at all? If so what would be a good tablet to go for?
I've been looking at the archos 101 G9 but it hasn't quite been released yet and I need one now, which is a shame.
Any other suggestions?
Is there anything I need to bear in mind?
Also has anyone written code to interface with a USB audio in device? Is it possible to use the "AudioRecorder" class with a different device number perhaps? Or does it need to be done some other way?
Thank in advance!
Hi,
as i know Archos-G9 allready in the market.
NookColor works also with USB-AUDIO.
USB audio works on my Allwinner A10 tablet witn "Unofficial CyanogenMod 9 for many AllWinner A10 tablets" firmware from Christian Troy
Never heard that before but im sure Galaxy tab 10.1 will do it
It will work
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
I'll check my Iconia A500 when I get home to see if it does.

I Need Tablet Help!

Hey guys,
I first wanted to say, I have heard nothing but great things about this site and the people of these forums. That’s what brought me here today!
About two weeks ago I bought a Nook Tablet. I didn’t really want a full tablet because of the price and only wanted to do a few things with it. After playing around with it for several hours I realized that I had to pay for apps I got free on my phone, I was able to sideload a few apps but didn’t block automatic updates so now my Nook is running 1.4.1 or whatever it is, so now I have to use the Nook app store.
So this leads me to my real question. What is a good android tablet I can watch Netflix, play some basic games ( Angry Bird, Farm Story, etc ) , read books using ( nook and kindle apps ) and have the ability to play around and not be so limited.
I was looking at the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Samsung - Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
Are these two good tablets? Sadly I haven’t had a chance to play around with them in person yet and only have until tomorrow to return my Nook. I was very happy with the speed of the Nook Tablet so if these are just as fast or faster then ill be happy. Please help me out guys, I’m open to other tablets etc. I’m just looking to keep it under $400 if possible.
Thanks you so much guys,
Glen
Nobody?
You could root your nook tablet then you would get the android market.

I have the Acer iconia a500 tablet and it is great. It can do movies and apps like Netflix great. Plus plenty of games.. and books.
Also you can get them for around 330$
I would also suggest rooting your nook to allow for the android market.

Samsung 7.0+ is the best 7 inch tablet avlible.
Kindle fire is great for a lot of stuff, and crazy cheap, but isnt really android, its just Android based. Still, if it fits your needs its great.
Cheapest full android (honeycomb) 7" tablet is the Acer a100
Good facts, and straight to the point. If I could thank you on the app I would..

HP TouchPad is a 10" tablet that will run CM7 and dual boot webOS. It ships with webOS. ICS is almost ready, just tying up loose ends I guess. They run ~$220 on eBay and online classifieds. 1.2Ghz dual core, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage. Check out the TouchPad forum, very active. The TouchPad has sold more than any other tablet, except the iPad. They have been discontinued, but there is a huge user and dev base, so they are far from dead.

just want to point out, HP touchpad is a 9" tab.
and if you want cheap, you may want to look at the Archos 70b full android honeycomb (soon to be ICS) including front facing camera and android market for $199
Vizio Tablet..
Has anyone found a way to root this tablet after the 1.5 update? Or knows how to downgrade it so i can root it.. Thanks
At the opposite end of the spectrum, what is the best, most powerful, most beautiful Tab out there, or to be released soon? I got a B-Day in April and want my wife to get me one, I am drawn towards the Galaxy, and have the SII as a phone, but would love to see the communities opinions...
the trasformer prime 2.0 <3
best by far.

[Q] Archos 11.6 Platinum Rebrand?

Hi,
Like most people know Archos tablets are just rebranded Chinese tablets. For example the Archos 9.7 Platinum is the same as the Onda V972.
Now I am very interested in the one with the bigger screen. The Archos 11.6 for example. Does someone know from wich brand/type this is a rebrand?
Thanks
Wes
Any news
Any news on this ?
I would be interested also !
Btw the Platinum 80 seems to be a rebranded Onda V812
