Sometimes the voicemail number is automatically stored as *87 or something like that. Try dialing your phone number

There is no lite version it is a voicemail replacement app,so if it said not compatible with your provider thn you can't use it. Sorry.

It's just saying that it cant automatically set up the no answer transfer to divert calls from verizon's voicemail system to GV. You can do that manually.

Thanks so much!

Sms question.

In messages ,on cyonogen ROM is there any way to have my picture on the "me" messages in the message thread? On HTC sense roms your Facebook profile is displayed for "me" while there is only a grey box there on cm7.

Make a new contact for yourself and it will show your image
I've tried that with my name and "me" as the name and I added all my info to those contacts and it still didn't work. I also tried rebooting my phone.

My evo shift works perfectly with MMS and internet flashed to Metro PCS... but when I get a voicemail I don't receive an alert telling me I have a voicemail or the symbol that appears. I am running cm7 aosp rom stable. Is there a fix for this? Thanks! Todd

No fix that I have found anywhere. Just use Youmail.

Google voice with hangouts

So I don't have cell service yet but I'd like to get my voice messages through hangouts. Is it possible? I'm on paranoid android with Franco kennel.

Yes. Go in your Google Voice settings and under sync and notification, select messaging app under where you'd like to receive your messages.

But then I can't send messages out without cell service.

You will need to be connected to WiFi. Test it out and post your results back.
Google voice will just reroute you messages to hangouts but it will still use wifi to send the messages.

I've already tried the suggested in this thread. No bueno at all. It don't work it stays stuck on sending when I start a message to a contact.
That's the only way I know of getting GV messages in Hangouts.
I've never tried it without service. I guess hangouts itself is totally dependent on cellular networks by default. Sorry couldn't be of more help.
Sit tight. I'm sure someone else will have another idea for you.

Some chef should be able to compile it with PA. The code is available on Koush's Github
