It would be healthy to look at video Reviews all ROM's on one device: speed of bootup, logos, speed of work, scores in test programs (quandrant), quality of work of the chamber, wifi, buttons of management, the basic appendices - a market, flashvideo (youtube), games (samurai 2), the installation complete set (what appendices are established with an ROM) etc. on each insertion for 2-3 minutes and all can be reflected.
What ROM'swere to be seen in reviews - all, including again appearing. For them already about a dozen. And to make a choice completely not easily for n00b's.
OK. I will collect all videos reviews in one thread. I think so it will be convenient all. After all even the advanced users don't flash all Rom's. And it would be interesting to much to compare them.
If it is a thread to you it is interesting, don't forget to press button "THANKS" under my message.
So I will know that thread is interesting to readers and it I will constantly update.

Moved to general and stuck
great thread, hopefully more people will post videos showing general use, features, etc.
I will be very glad, if the theme helps someone.
Itself searched for a similar theme at a forum and has been very upset when it hasn't appeared.
anybody have a better video of gAdam?
Im in the process of setting up a video blog for all the best step by step instructions found on the XDA Forums for the GTab... I am a 'seeing is believing' type of person and I think more people will be able to get through some of the tougher processes if they see it step by step instead of just reading it and possibly skipping a step...
GTabUnleashed.com (under construction... launching soon!)
Great thread, thanks for putting this together!

I dont have a video but I can give you my opinion...
Its different, kinda weird to use, and it seems to restart the GUI when you click on gmail windows sometimes which will restart all the section windows and restart your FB which seems to get kind of annoying. IDK... I think I might go back to TNT 4.x and just use a customization app, I dont like the fact that I cant close the windows either. And it seems kind of annoying when you want to use them you have to push on it once to make it start working, and then push what you want to do with the window.
@ absorbers- way to go on finding the vids!. Good post too!

This is just what I was looking for! I was trying to browse youtube, stumbling upon old videos. Thanks.
Nice. Just what I was looking for. Really wish the guys at futurecrue would have spent more time with the ROM rather than dicking around though... It looked good, but hard to tell from the video.

Yeah, the lighting and everything was good but they should have spent a little more time doing typical things with the rom.
1) running the browser, pinch zoom, full version of engadget load, etc
2) market running, browsing
3) quadrant (yes I realize it's value is limited, still nice to see numbers)
4) launcher scrolling, app list scrolling
5) a game or two, Samurai seems like a good choice to show Tegra working, Angry Birds for overall screen response and familiarity
Excellent wishes for those who writes for us video
thx man really appreciate it. trying to find one i will like before i get my Gtab
This is one of the best posts I've seen in several months. I really appreciate getting the visual comparisons of ROMs doing the same things. My favorite--at least from the visual aspects--is the Vega Custom. It appeared to have the quickest response and smoothest scrolling and I love the background. But I'm not quite ready to move away from my Stock Enhancement quite yet. (Read that as I'm not sure I could make the change and then recover if needed.)

Thanks g0t0.
Haven't had a chance to review the videos (since the GTablet has been ordered and not arrived yet), but I have a couple questions.
Which one of these ROM's is best to use?
After installing the ROM, are they typically updated several months later and if so, how do we keep current on the ROMs?
thanks
New android user here (3 weeks) and I just got the new Infused on my phone last night. But im not too sure on what the actual differences are? I know it had a different launcher (one i didnt like because I like 5x5 icons) but thats all that really seemed different to me. The status bar looked like a diff with a diff battery icon and a few different icons. Not trying to be a downer but what is the main reason people switch over to the Infused rom???
The main features are Voodoo lagfix and sound. The lagfix changes the filesystem that the phone uses to one that is much faster which makes your phone faster and smoother all around. I'm not sure on the details about Voodoo sound but I believe it basically installs different sound drivers that make better use of the high end sound card that the infuse has, making all of your music sound better.
There are other things such as other speed improvements, removed stock AT&T apps, and new themes as well.
Basically, it makes your phone way faster and better, themes it, and removes all of the unwanted crap.

Speed I havent noticed too much yet, but it was also fast as hell before and im coming from an iphone 4 so the big speed jump from that made this one less noticeable to me. So basically it uncluttered the phone and mades a few things different so they ran more efficient and cleaner?
and is there anything special I can do now? I know it says unbranded app market so what apps are there that I couldnt get before?

It was a question about the infused rom which is part of development so I figured it belonged here, sorry for the mistake
I think moto was saying that you could have posted this "in" the Infused ROM thread.
I'm on Infused 1.5 too. There are a wealthy of improvement built into the rom. See the change log for everything you need to know man.
I'm surprised this thread is still open. I'll answer the question anyways. the rom is based on the updated firmware, many people are unable to get it ota, it is deodexed which removes unneeded files that take up space, it is zipaligned(not completely sure what that really does) att bloat is removed, sensor related batery drain is reduced, wifi poling is less frequent(saves battery if wifi is enabled but you are not connected) low mem killer is tweaked(may improve performance) rfs file system is replaced with ext4 with special mount options for best performance without losing data (there are faster file systems but many don't have journaling or are not very standard), it has an improved driver for the headphone amp with bass boost and presets for recording levels and quality settings. a launcher with less lag and transparent background, cwm recovery without a need to mod 3e recovery.
basically it is a bit smoother, which may be hard to notice because the infuse runs pretty good, it has less of what you font need, and it has somethings you need made easier. and even things you didn't know you wanted but once you try it out you won't want to get rid of it

Please excuse the dbag, quite a few of them here, but there are enough helpful people that make this place usefull.
Rom developement forum is for the devs to post info on roms. I think they prefer questions in the rom thread itself or in general.
Motomudder77 , good job making newbies feel welcome. He said he was new to android. So reading the change log 100 times would do no good. If you cant post something helpful then dont post.
Dave
Ask your question in the Infused ROM thread, don't start a new thread.

Ok Guys, Its my first post here but I have been lurking around here for quite some time, so I wont be as annoying as most noobs I guess
Anyway, I've tried many different ROMs on my captivate and I find all of them to be pretty good but I am yet to find one which packs all the goodies I want. They are not too much to ask for IMO. I need your advice and suggestions on this.
I want a ROM with the following in it:
-Extended Power menu(Recovery, Download)
-Touchwiz4 or Touchwiz4.5 launcher
-Gpsfix
-SuperUser Enabled
-ICS boot animation
-ICS themed( but wiht TW4)
-Some Tweaks for more battery life
- Some cool lockscreens(Preferably the ICS lock should be there)
- Shouldn't scoop up too much of memory( In some roms I couldn't get more than 120mb free RAM even in idle state. I want at least 170mb free)

Unfortunately, no one can tell you whats good for you. The only way to go about this is to read. From your questions, it appears that you dont appear too noob So, read the OP and last couple of pages of the threads. They should give a fair idea if anyone is facing any particular issues.
On side note; it appears KK4 source code has been released. So you may want to wait for some time before the magicians (Read: developers) wind their magic for ROMs and kernels.
If none of the roms have all the features...find one with the hardest to do (lock screen for example) and then add the rest in yourself.
This is xda...a place not only to download cool stuff..but also a place to learn how to do things yourself.
Like saying it needs to have a certain boot animation and launcher, that is EASILY changed.
I have found Fasty lll a real nice rom if you haven't tried it yet give it a shot. All you can do is try them to see if you like them.
knighted4
I've flashed MANY different ROM's, and not a single one has given me exactly what I wanted for features(Quite frankly, it's not the Dev's duty to fulfil my every wish). So what you end up with is, find a ROM that has as many of the most important features for you, that aren't apk related, load it, and modify it to suit your needs.
Truely, that is the best you're going to get. There are SO many different options available that it would be near imposible to find one that hits each and every thing on your list.......UNLESS you build the ROM yourself, and you can then cook it to suit your needs
No single ROM can fulfil your every desire...every rom has its highlights and low points but miui is better but u need to look for a touchwiz apk and install. On the bright side miui has customizable boot screen and lock screen
Sent from my I897 in the LION filled territory called Kenya using XDA App
This can turn in a redundant thread since every person has different needs.
On that note, thread closed.
Hi,
don't kill me! i know that someone should choose the rom looking at his needs. But i have to clean a p500 of a friend and i need a suggestion on a rom.
- I've seen that there are many ICS\JB roms, but the P500 can handle one of this without becoming incredibly slow?
- Indipendently from the andorid version i need a lightweight rom, that dosen't take too much memory (since it is not much by default) and with a low battery drain.
- I prefer something fast and stable instead of something with more features but slow and full of bug
- The owner of the p500 had until now the stock rom, so he don't really need extraordinary customizations (so considering the point above i want to avoid the cyanogen roms)
have you any suggestions?
You should try SlimBean by popdog123. I really like this rom, and I'm looking forward to future updates on it.
If you prefer to have everything working, you should use CM 7.2 or CM 9. JB is good, but it lacks of wifi tethering and occupies too much space, so you need to use a ext partition on your SD card.
Original development section seriously? Mod plz move the thread.

Yes, my suggestion is to read through the OP's of the ROM's and pick one based on the criteria you have laid out above.

As a few of you may know me from the xda forums and my contributions every now and then i get an old device i like to mess around on where i either create a great rom or tool or toast the device, now is the galaxy note 3's turn.
I will be throwing together a rom based on the latest officially supported update for the note 3 and will be making the rom as flexible as can be, this includes stabillity mods, optimization mods, mods to make the device alot smoother and fluent and ofcoarse my internal theming kit, bringing almost every manufacturs launcher themes to this device, debloated(seperate bloat installer), but since i dont know much about the device i would like some feature request everyone would like to see on the note 3, development will commence as soon as i get feedback.
