Then why would you make a post in ASUS Transformer development thread about the xda app?

I have the same problem.
When I tried the XDA App on my Asus Transformer, the XDA App crashes and force closes.
For me it seems to happen every time I try to log into XDA Forum.
After that experience I have simply uninstalled the XDA App from my Transformer and I am using the standard browser to log into the forum.
And an answer like what I have quoted above may be indicative of attitude of some of the developers on the development thread. So may be I would not bother with this XDA App to log into the forum, though my browser on my Asus Transformer keeps popping up the message trying to get me to install this XDA App - I guess I shall ignore that message.

[Q] XDA app issue with long posts?

Does anyone else have issues with the XDA app when using the transformer?
Everytime I open a thread to read that has a really long post (usually the first one) the words all get smeared and garbled looking while scrolling. Short posts are fine though.

I have four Android tablets, which includes my ASUS Transformer. The others run Froyo. Not one of them can successfully use the XDA app - it crashes quite repeatedly. I've only tried the free one. It's possible the pay-for version might work better. I'm not willing to try.
Bye.

I see the same thing and I find it quite annoying.
I had this happen, but then i bought the paid version of the xda app and the problem stopped. Might just be lucky though

What display setting are you using within. The information get the issue with the "basic", white on black, and but the "premium", black on white with orange headers, seems to be fine.
Had the same problem. Display style premium and basic solved the issue.
The XDA free version does FC often.

Ihave the paid app, no FC issues. But does anyone notice it uses data unnecessarily while closed? Is there an update for this? I usually just kill the app or turn off bg data. But I don't want it to happen anymore

The free one ain't any better. Odd that the home of android hacking uses such a feeble platform for their mobile forum app.
Xda doesn't dev the app. It's done by tapatalk. Came out with a free one for xda, then made a paid one so you could donate to xda. The tapatalk app is the same with options for every other forum in the world that is compatible.
Go to General/About XDA/(then a sticky is there for reporting bugs, and requests)
Grab a logcat of the fc and post there.

That's why I said platform. This app is the slowest and worst behaved (enter app at last viewed thread, back button closes app). I'd gladly pay considering what I get from XDA, but not for this frustration.

It's a buck and it does get more updates than the free. I bought it just cause. Not for a great app. It supports the site. It's a donation to the site seeing as how they are not the dev of the app. But, just so happens, the app works fine for me. Try the paid version or contribute to the discussion in the thread I mentioned. Idk why you wouldn't give the place a buck anyways.

Issue with xda developers android app

Hi,
I have an issue with the xda developers app. I receive a notification for a topic I'm subscribed to on my Android device (i9505) but when I touch the notification link, the xda app opens but sits in a state of limbo and doesn't open the link to the topic... Is this a known issue?

Its a known issue alright. That's one reason why I switched to Tapatalk.

A lot of issues with the XDA App

Hey folks. Maybe there is a place where this thread would belong I'm not sure as honestly the XDA has always worked for me. Lately that is not the case. I'm having all manner of issues with the app both on my phone and tablet. Every time I try to quote someone the app force closes. Also my "participated" list doesn't seem to update properly.. A few other weird quirks... Anyone having issues lately with he XDA app?

I had the xda premium app. It was running really slow for the past day or so. Pages not loading, really slow to post responses etc. Then I tried tapatalk, realized it was the same look as the premium app and I still had issues. But today it was working fine, back to normal. I read somewhere that there were some issues but they should be fixed now

I could be wrong but I think the XDA app is a paid tapatalk application. They let you buy and unbrand it for use for a price.
This also keeps happening even when I am in a thread just randomly pops up. I hate that my participated list won't update. I have to go to each thread and find my posts individually.. Very annoying.
I don't remember when this started happening. I don't remember an update that caused it..

Try using tapatalk, its free now, only the tablet version is paid. The free xda app hasn't been updated in aaaaaaaaages. I find tapatalk much better than the xda apps

This is actually not completely app related
We have been moving to new servers lately, which caused quite some issues (search for example still has problems).
But be assured that the admins are working on it
Thanks! I have to post this thanks so I can click your message to say thanks... Lol. Because if I click your post it highlights the one above it... Weird...

Hi, you've done a great work with the app. But it still force closes when loading long threads.
I will send you a bug report so you will be able to fix it.
Anyway, good job guys! Keep it up D:

It seems like your device is disconnected, it happens for me I don't know if it's my WiFi or the XDA app is causing it to disconnect

Hi,
Can you repost this into the "official" problems with the xda app thread? It is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841646
That thread is being monitored by the people who can actually, maybe fix the problem
Same problem here, it's been doing it for awhile.
