About twice a month, it seems like 4g data goes down in phoenix. Anyone experiencing this? I change to LTE mode in dad bamf settings and get nothing.

Negative, I work in PHX live in Gilbert... it's never gone down for me... I have had the phone occasionally lock itself in 3G when I know I'm in a 4G zone, but a reboot or LTE on/off usually fixes that.
Mine was out last night but thought it was mostly due to storm, back up again as I am using it now. Queen Creek is my location.

i have lost my 4G service in Phoenix before but then i switch set dns to the google dns option and it works.
Other than sporadic issues lasting a few minutes, have not had any outages in the past few months. Out in the Queen Creek area.

How'd you like that storm? I live in the outskirts of Queen Creek where the microburst hit. Kinda weird seeing twenty powerlines turned into splinters, looks like something snapped them at the base like twigs.

no 4G in my area yet, although since yesterday the 3G has been going up & down regularly and is still doing it today. a friend of mine has a Droid Charge and has said the same thing is happening with her phone.
the "3G" logo will suddenly disappear & the bars will go off, then it'll either come right back up(or after a few seconds) and sometimes will show "1X".
i'm in Carlsbad, CA btw. i wonder what the hell Verizon is doing....
Mine cut out for a minute or so but nothing major.
i live in the tempe/scottsdale area and have never gotten 4g outages
Works for me as well. Scottsdale/Phoenix border.
Its been intermittent for a day or two in Dallas/Fort Worth when ever they do the network upgrade nationwide for the new networks to come online.

I was turning off 4g from my girlfriends TB and noticed that the bottom buttons were lit up after reboot. So I turned off 4g on my TB and same result! Working lights! They turn off when the screen is off and turn back on when the screen is woken up.
Anyone know why this may be? The lights don't work continuously when 4g is on. But do when turned off.

my lights seem to turn on and off normally but the backlighting behind the home and menu buttons (especially the E in mEnu and the upper right of the house) looks kinda dim.

They weren't working for me with 4g on. I live in SLC and we don't have 4g yet. Maybe this could be why or its probably just a coincidence but I thought I'd post my issue/finding to see if I wasn't the only one.

I live in Chicago and i have inconsistent working bottoms lights also. hmmm, correction, i had issues. just played with it now to get what it was exactly doing and there are on constantly now when screen is on. yesterday there were only on for a moment then went off.

I live (and work) in salt lake city too. I can't wait til we get some 4G. We have a LTE tower that just got built in the west valley city verizon call center (where I work) so when i get my thundeebolt on monday or Tuesday I will have access for nine hours a day, five days a week. Good to see a fellow utahn.
Here is how to turn off 4G.
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Go to phone info.
Select CDMA auto (PRL) to turn on 3g, select this option otherwise you will have issues with texts and calls. This is normal 3g that every phone uses.
Select CDMA/LTE Auto to go back to 4g. Battery life improves, I turn off 4g when my phone is on stand by or when I am not doing anything where I need alot of speed.

The lights seem to be controlled by a light sensor. If you hold your thumb over the Verizon symbol, the lights come. I wish there was a setting to make them come on with the screen.
Awesome to hear! I work at ZAGG's corp. Office, so I should get decent 4g coverage from that tower at your work. I thought I was the only one on here from Utah. Haha only kidding. Thanks for the info!

Mine is also dim in that spot. Is anyone seeing this?
Thought it was interesting to find out today that when I put my Thunderbolt near my weather radio the radio started buzzing loudly.
To see if it was the phone itself or 4G I switched to 3G only and the buzzing stopped. It also stopped on WiFi. So, looks like 4G and weather radios don't mix....at least at a distance of 2 feet or less.
Any idea what could cause the interference?

Probably unrelated, but I read on here when the phone first came out that the LTE wasn't dead-on the exact frequency intended by Verizon -- that it had to be changed at the last minute due to interference with the FAA.
I've used both the MR2 and 2.5 radios and both have the same issue. Whenever it's loading something 4G drops in and out constantly. The icon disappears and then reappears. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm in the Chicago area so getting a 4G signal.isn't an issue.

well, i had consistant 3G signal in a known 4G area. started out all good, with solid 4G, then slowly started to loose 4G all together. drop data completely ect. then i could just not pick up 4G unless i had full bars, and even then, it was slow (around 5mbps downloads)
tried a new SIM card, nothing
got a new phone yesterday and everything is perfect now. we'll see how it is after a couple weeks though.
Is it possible that it could be the antenna on the extended battery cover?

Could be. I know that without a battery cover on my phone, I can only get 1x. So you may be on to something. Check the contacts on the cover to make sure they are not bent and getting good contact inside.
I am not in 4g area but I am having same issues on 3g, it will just cut out randomly, it will stop downloads, it will disconnect me from gtalk. I am on mr2.5 radio. Think its Verizon/ LTE issues, but its getting old.

I"m in chicago and have this ****ing issue as well. it's really pissing me off. happens when i tether and load too many pages at once on the computer. 4g disappears for a second or two then reappears, but i can't connect to internet on the tethered computer. speedtest app on phone will work just fine. running the test and tethering--4g disappears. running test alone- a ok. Are you tethering when the 4g disappears?
I was running the mr2, mr2.5 radios on gb roms (synergy, das bamf, 2.1, 3.0 , gingeritis) all have issues. an hour ago i switched to the froyo radio and das bamf 1.8 and so far so good.
still don't know if it's ****ty connection here in chicago, bad ****ing radio (gb ones) or verizon trying to block my tethering. i will get back after more tethering to see if it disappears.
i did also try to overclock, undervolt, change the speeds to no avail.
posted my solution on another thread, here it is again
well i solved all of my tethering problems by going back to froyo. am now on bamf 1.8 remix and loving it. tether works like it should and even works with the screen off. something is off inthe gb kernal that forces tether to close when screen is off. slight remedy is to up the processor speed, until you lose the 4g signal lol.
i think i'll just wait for the official gb, need the internet and all.
For the past couple of days around the same time 10pm I have lost my signal and it doesn't reappear until the morning, or at least that's what happened this morning. I'm running Apex 10 and the 5.1.2 of Talon. It's very frustrating because I can't use the damn thing as a phone and I'm not even sure if the signal will come back. This just randomly started happening what could be the problem??

Thanks, the fact that Apex is an i9000 rom seemed to be the problem, because my signal went out again tonight. I flashed Fasty III to my phone and magically I had a phone signal! Thanks again, really appreciate it!
Is anyone else having problems with att data services?? I just disconnected from my wifi, and it seems that att data is not working, can't browse the web

Mine does the same thing. Usually if I wait just a little bit, it will come on. Never had this problem on GB. Thinking about going back until the new JB ROM gets up and running a little longer. Almost there!

Mines stock and rooted and will drop the data every once in a while even in the middle of downtown dallas. I just toggle data off then back on and it works.. I get the same issue with GPS... on 2.3.6
