I have not tried this myself but if you install the modified 3e recovery there's an option to back up your current rom.

Install Froyo ROM

Please tell me a simple and easy process of installing Froyo to my Captivate.
most of the roms tell you how to do it.. You need to backup all your apps with titanium backup. go back to stock with odin one click. Then root the phone install rom manager. boot up into clockwork mod and install the rom.
it sounds complicated at first but after you do it a few times it is easy beyond belief

I think you need to root your phone first to backup with titanium backup...

I tired to do that but the only options it gives me is
reboot system now
reinstall packages
delete all user data
delete cache data
there is no backup option.
You need to root your phone first and install clockworkmod recovery. After that you should have the option to backup your current rom. Search for superoneclick to root your phone then download rom manager from the market and flash cwm recovery from inside the app. After it downloads cwm recovery and installed. Boot into recovery then backup.

the explination that robertd0619 is accurate but, what i found most useful to root my vibrant is z4root 1.3.0 its very fast and easy

Jb v4 unofficial back to ics

I'm currently on jb and I'm trying to go back to ICS. But every time I try to flash it I get stuck on the boot image? Do I have to flash ICS boot loaders?

Are you trying to restore a nandroid backup or just install an ics ROM? Which ROM are you trying to go to?
I went from JB back to slim and remics. I had to make sure I wiped everything, and I did a fresh install instead of a restore.
When moving from a newer rom to an older rom you usually have to flash twice. In your case once from the JB CWM and then again from the ICS CWM.
I had same problem. I do full wipes and flash ICS.

I made it so:
1) Flashed Semaphore ICS kernel with Odin
2) Viped data and cache
3) Restored nandroid backup with Semaphore CWM
4) Restored apps with Titanium backup

You cannot restore a ROM of a different version of android than the one you are running.

It mean that i should first flash 4.0.3 than restore the stock rom

check this "funbook gizmolord" website... goggle that words and check the website...
The way you're stating things is off, so I'm assuming you mean you created a Nandroid before flashing the new Rom? If so then yes, just wipe data, wipe cache, format and remount system and then re-flash the stock Rom by whatever method your devices uses.
