[Solved] Flashed LG Optimus One P500 Problems - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I wasn't sure where to post this :/. I basicly Rooted + Flashed My LG Optimus One today and I was wondering would Orange accept the phone back (It's on Contract) if it's flashed + Rooted :/. Please Reply ASAP as because my Contract runs out within 2 Months :/

No they would not you need to reverts to complete stock. Including rom spl and radio so look for a stock rom. Check the LG website they probably have one.

I'm still on the Stock Rom, The Only thing I've done is Flashed + Rooted. I thought Orange UK Hard Reset the Phones after taking them back in :/.

Did you hspl the phone. Could you even hspl the phone. If you hspl its permanent but you can return to stock spl.

Sorry, Really New to the Android Modding, What does HSPL and SPL mean :/.

You can do this through terminal emulator + factory restore. I think superoneclick lets you unroot too with one click...

I can Unroot with Gingerbreak, Just wondering if Orange UK will take the Phone back Flashed? If Not, Will they give me an option to Keep the Phone and end the Contract :/?

Hspl and spl are two things associated with the bootloader hspl is usually hard spl which is an unlocked permanent bootloader all with unlocked security allows the flashing of most custom roms and radio's and reduces the risk of bricking your device. Spl is usually the stock version meaning what u get out of the box. It pretty restricted and chances of flashing customs successfully is low.

If you flash the stock firmware you will revert back... check out the LG-DRM and KDZ threads.

Yeh, I flashed The Clockwork Mod Recovery, Sorry for not including that in the Last Post. Every where I look, I can't seem to find a 2.2 Orange UK LGP500 .KDZ :/. Maybe I'm not typing the right things .
I've found a Post here that helps a little: http://lgoptimusonep500.blogspot.com/2011/01/how-to-flash-original-firmware-on-lg.html
The Top Link for the Country + Network Codes is dead though :/.
Would the 2.2 Orange UK update be this?: http://hotfile.com/dl/102446651/f17a370/LGP500AT-01-V10c-234-33-OCT-11-20100-DZ.zip.html
I found it on a Post by nasirahmed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-944881.html
ORANGE UK LGP500AT-01-V10c-234-33-OCT-11-2010+0-DZ (http://hotfile.com/dl/102446651/f17a370/LGP500AT-01-V10c-234-33-OCT-11-20100-DZ.zip.html)
Roughly Halfway down the List.
The Link for the Country Codes Just Shows up Blank, Tried on IE 9 and Firefox 6.

HOW-TO | Unroot From 1.47

Sorry guys if this was posted already. I had been searching for a way to unroot totally back to factory and the RUUs were giving me all sorts of errors... 171, 170 etc. So I finally found a way to actually make it work.
** If you are rooted and have the 1.47 update and cannot unroot with the RUU you were in my boat. Here's what I did:
1 - Download the ROOTED 1.32.651.1 from http ://geekfor.me/evo/rom/Supersonic_1.32.651.1_rooted .zip
(Remove the spaces from the url)
2 - Put that zip in the root of your SD card and then boot into recovery and flash it.
3 - Download the official 1.47 RUU and it should work on your device with no problems.
I am sorry if this guide was elsewhere but this is what I came up with on my own and I wanted to share it in case there wasn't a working unroot guide out.

Yes. http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Supersonic/
the ruu does not restore the PRI to 1.40 if you have the engineering boot.
From what I can tell, there is no way to restore back to 1.40 pri.
Can someone post the stock 1.47.651.1 in a zipped image format for the bootloader??

There are adapters and you can also put the card in another phone.
I will look for the image
Download to root of sd and rename to PC36IMG
http://www.mattwhitlock.com/PC36IMG-1.47.651.1_eng-hboot_RA-1.7.0.1.zip
They do not check for root and to be honest its perfectly LEGAL now to root a phone so no WORRYS leave it as is
thanks again for the really quick response.. I have a mircoUSB adaptor that i use, and my roomate has the same phone as me so i can get my battery charged.
i may just do as you say and go with the sprint stock rooted rom.. kuz this is proving to be more of a hassle than i thought it would be.
thanks
It's still void the warranty even tho its legal so save yourself a potential hassle and unroot

In the MOST EXTREME case but its highly doubtful and has been proven over and over. I for one agree you should unroot it as best you can so it doesnt allow the carrier or htc to figure out the root method etc but if you can't I wouldnt worry one single bit. Good luck let me know if I can be of anymore help
hmm.. okay.. so that zip file that was there.. i already had, and i already tried flashing that.. and it didnt work last time, nor did it work this time
i have hboot 0.79.000
i have radio 1.39.00.05.31
and i flashed to a rooted 1.32 rom like it said i had to do.
Im using clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.1
When i go to install zip from sd card>choose zip> and select the file attached, it just tries to open it and within a few miliseconds its back to the screen i was just at.
if i were to rename it to PC36IMG.zip and let bootloader load it, it will say 'wrong or no image'
I think im going to give up..
i found this. i will give it a try i suppose:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701835
EDIT: NVM i forgot my USB doesnt work. lol.. oh well.. i dont think sprint will do anything.. its a sprint rom anyways.. Ive replaced hard-spl'd winmo phones throu att before
arrrg.. windows mobile made more sense to me.

You arent nand unlocked just bring it back do a full system wipe
It also doesnt hurt to try again make sure that you download a fresh version of the file and wipe the sd card of any other files if possible if at least make sure there arent any other pcimg files there

[Q] going to start experimenting with my Nexus s

Finally got a nexus s, & wanna start experimenting with root & ROMs, but i used to htc sense phones in which i can just use stock rom exe to go back to stock ROM, how do i do the same thing with my nexus s, i mean if something goes wrong is there any way of going back to stock ROM,
don't say just do the nandroid, because that means rooting first, can somebody please help me on this one
starting experimenting
if you want experimenting with your NS you have to root the phone first. It is really easy to root the nexus s, just have a look at this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895545
and then you can make a nandroid backup, like what you said.
if somethings goes wrong anyway, there is a way to go to stock as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
just try, in worst case you can go to stock
The answer is Nandroid.
Nexus phones are different. Super easy.
Fastboot OEM unlock
Accept the warning
Fastboot flash recovery blah.img
Make nandroid, mount it back it up etc. Then flash whatever rom u want.
If u want to go back to stock, nandroid recover then
Fastboot OEM lock
say yes and you're back to stock.
-Nexus S
It is NOT necessary to oem unlock the phone to flash clockwork or a custom rom. See this method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931865
Also, if you're going to oem unlock, be aware it completely wipes all data off the phone, including anything on the sdcard you may have put there (like pics from the camera).
Finally, the most bizarre thing about the original post is that you're willing to flash custom roms, but not to root? Huh? You're aware that most custom roms come PRE-ROOTED, aren't you? What's the difference? Just curious....
By the way, Google's own blog states they intentionally made this phone easy to root and add customizations to...it's extremely safe and easy.

polandy posted above a perfect guide to return back to stock just as shipped through manufacturer. Just make sure you relock the BOOTLOADER for any warranty purposes. Now you can flash all you want and can go back to "stock". Here is the link again, http://theunlockr.com/2011/01/20/how-to-unroot-the-nexus-s/

I didn't say a there was European version of the Nexus S (yet)...but it's well known that there is one coming. I said this was a European version of the ROM.
Did you read the thread that has the files? The first post says that the guy obtained it from Samsung service center in England. Then someone asked if there was a US version, and no one corrected him in saying that this one was or wasn't. Granted, Samsung England could easily have access to US ROMs from the Samsung mothership, so that alone is not proof it is European.
However, if you download the rar file from that thread, and unrar it, you'll see that it contains a file named "CSC_I9020_EUR.tar" which is clearly a EURopean CSC file, making this a European ROM.
The PDA file's images may be 100% the same as a stock US phone, but until someone flashes this stuff from Odin and somehow runs a diff against a stock US ROM, I'm not assuming it's the same thing just on faith. You're welcome too, of course.
What's interesting to me is that there is a CSC at all. I don't think our Nexus S uses it, or at least it doesn't use it in the same way as the Samsung issued ROMS do. CSC is carrier specific customizations, if you're not familiar with it; it's a way to add bloatware and carrier settings to the phone.

[Q] HTC Sensation: Phone ON, but screen BLANK after Android 2.3.4 OTA update!

Hi all,
I got the Android 2.3.4 OTA update, downloaded and installed it. The Sensation switched on right after update. The HTC boot screen came up, the boot-up sound played, AND THE SCREEN WENT BLANK!!
Now, I know the phone is actually ON, because I can call it from another phone and it rings. Also, the regular gesture on the screen to answer a call works too, but still, nothing shows on the display.. it's totally BLANK..
How can i solve this issue?? Thanks in advance
Try flashing a RUU again, there's a thread with all available RUUs here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
If you have a Tmobile Sensation then select TMOUS and open it after it downloads, and follow instructions. If it doesn't work, you should put the warranty to use if it has warranty.

Just wanted to note to you that my phone has never been rooted or has never had any custom firmware or any such thing done. This was the only OS update i've done since i bought it. Other than that, only tiny apps and games have been installed.
Also, the phone is not locked to any network.

Yes, the RUU is a file that you open and it's like an OTA update but for computer, something like that. I have a Tmobile Sensation and I flashed this one:
RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714_signed
It's the latest leaked RUU I think, and it's the same version that came with my phone when I got it. I used it to get S-ON too after S-Off and rooting. There's a tutorial for that too here if you want to root. Let me know how it works.

You not rooting/unrooting. You're just flashing the stock ROM back onto the phone. See it as reformating a PC hard drive for a clean installation. You will lose all data, mind

can you please give me directions on which RUU to choose and how to go about doing the installation? umm... please...? *innocent eyes*
Haven't tried taking the battery out yet..? First thing I would do
Hi Tirozz,
Yea i've done all of that:
- took off battery, put it in after 30 seconds, switched it on
- did hard reset by going into that special mode by pressing power and volume down
- took off memory card and switched on
still nothing..
MicroWise, there is a way to get back to Android 2.3.3. Download this RUU if you have a Tmobile Sensation:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/cb7...00P_10.11.9007.15_M_release_193714_signed.exe
Open it in your Windows PC and follow the instructions, then you'll have the stock Android 2.3.3 back again.
If you don't have the TMobile one, download the corresponding one from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
Let me know how it goes.
I had the same problem,
& i solve it by installing the previous ROM & don't flash the update

Check the RUU forum thread and ask if someone has a RUU for your HTC. Or you can try rooting and getting SuperCID so you can flash any RUU file, but it's easier to ask on the forum thread for your compatible RUU file.

[Q] RUU on an un-rooted phone

Hi all,
I'm with an unbranded EU phone which already been updated to 1.78.
I'm still suffering from several network issues which make this phone a great screen and CPU unit but with limited and frustrating network capabilities.
I was advised by HTC to send my unit back to a software repair (they agreed the hardware is not an issue) in the Greece lab.
I already did several factory resets with no help.
I thought that running RUU of 1.53 and then w/o any software installation and w/o SIM run the OTA to 1.78.
Is it wise?
Is it possible?
Thanks!

Thanks!

You can only run an RUU and/or and OTA after you've returned the phone to stock, i.e. use a custom recovery to flash an image of the stock ROM (1.53 or 1.78, it doesn't really matter but I guess you want the 1.53), then use fastboot to flash a stock recovery and then you may also need to relock the bootloader.
After this process you can either run an RUU on it or just do the OTA, both methods will be fine and the phone will no loger say TAMPERED but it will say RELOCKED so it will not be 100% as it left the factory in terms of warranty and as of now there is no way to get around that.
you dont need stock recovery, Just relocked bootloader and a stock ROM.. Stock as in NOT MIUI or CM9,,, more like a HTC ROM ...

Umm.. didn't work for me until I also flashed stock recovery... Plus, if he's sending it back to a service centre I guess it's a good idea to have it as close to stock as possible. Just my opinion, anyway...
EDIT: Well, I guess the RUU and/or OTA will overwrite the recovey anyway...
yeah i always thought we needed stock recovery, but i flashed the new Vodafone UK RUU the other day over CWM and it worked
But yes, it overwrites the recovery anyway so i guess it doesnt matter which way you do it
Guys,
Thanks a lot - I might didn't put enough details:
I'm on stock, never rooted that phone or opened it via HTCDev.
It's as if it was just bought from store and OTA to EU 1.78.
I wish to stay unrooted and w/o HTCDev intervention.
I'm still interested in going back to 1.53 (via RUU probably) and then redoing the OTA to 1.78 w/o SIM so it might result in better situation than I'm currently, network wise...
What do you say, can I run RUU on unrooted untouched new phone?
yes you sure can !!!
You dont need stock rom, i flashed ruu 1.78 over custom rom, with stock recovery / bootloader relock. it was a sense based rom, perhaps it wont work over a aosp rom

I know I don't need, yet I'm still with the original stock ROM as if I just got out of MobileZon store (5 weeks old phone)...
Thanks!
I tried running the 1.53.401 Europe RUU with no success as I got error 140 - incorrect Bootloader.
where do I check my bootloader?
you cant downgrade with RUU only upgrade
unless you have S-OFF thats why you get the error
Thanks.
So all I can do now is wait for the next OTA and hope for good?

I'm having cellular network issues.
I might wait for the OTA or Root it and try one of the roms.
Thanks a lot!

what radio do you currently have ? 0.16 is the latest
if you have a older radio there is a guide on how to upgrade it. There are also newer RUU's being released with the new radio included. Thats how i got mine, cause the OTA didnt work for me
I've already updated OTA 1.78 so I also got the 0.16 radio - is there any newer one?
Also, will I be able to update RUU 1.78 on my already 1.78 phone?

Did you ever manage to fix this?
My phone became unusable as a phone after it got the 1.78 OTA

I didn't but you might try running the RUU while the phone is in fastboot status.
I'm not sure if the RUU will be able to get the phones data to block you from downgrading...

[Q] RUU Hunt

Hi, Could anyone point me in the direction of an RUU for a UK O2 for my presently bricked S? I'm hoping that it, in combination with the All-in-One kit, will enable me to escape my present state of affairs. Pretty new to this recovery malarky so any pointers would be extremely welcome. Basically tried to unroot my handset but ended up with an unuseable lump instead. Boots OK but freezes at the unlock screen (although I can get the settings bar to drop down it won't let me access any of the sub menus). Surely someones been here before? Thanks

Pull the battery out n put back in then press and hold volume down + power button, that will boot u into bootloader then try factory reset option. If that cant be done google "shipped roms" and hopefully ul find the correct ruu there.

Does anyone know another site for stock/shipped roms? Im looking for a stock 2.3.5 or lower rom for uk orange network. It seems to be the only rom not on the shipped roms site.

Pretty sure there isnt any ruu's for orange network. U can search if u want but dont think there is. U could try a WWE or Europe ruu (unbranded) but thats up to u, and i dunno if it will work. U mite need to make a gold card to bypass the cid check.
