HTC is tricky tricky. I thought this was going to be easy, but I had to use every bit of my smali hacking knowledge to kick it's ass.
I used a stock 1.45.401.2 (2.3.4 EU OTA) deodexed Rosie.apk to mod from. So this should work on any new major ROM out there (Revolution HD, Leedroid, InsertCoin, Virtuous, my ROM, etc), and likely even work on the up and comping TMO OTA patch.
I haven't swapped out the image because I don't really have a good browser image to match, so you're stuck with the personalize button picture, unless someone wants to provide me with a good one. I'll swap them out np.
Download CWM Flashable Version
Download Rosie.apk to push to /system/app (or place with RootExplorer)
Instructions to push
Code:
adb remount
adb push Rosie.apk /system/app/Rosie.apk
adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/Rosie.apk
You could try this one. I'll keep at it, if you don't like it.

Working excellent here. Thanks for this. But can you please try it with a world image like the one posted by "Behold_this" in the 2nd post?
Your modded Rosie is a perfect fit, stock 4x5 app drawer but with Browser right key.
worked perfectly, anyways to assign custom browser? i like maxthon, and i quarantine my stock browser, so unless i give up that ram i cannot use personalize button for my custom browser. (currently) let me know if this is possible, Thanks again (click)
I'd really like this with Virtuous Affinity (sense 3.5) you think it will work of Rosie is different!!

Upon install it will copy over the EnableJIT, DisableJIT, and the 691 Kernel to your sdcard for your convenience.
If you follow these instructions to the letter you shouldn’t have any issues as you can always disable the JIT to return to normal use.
Make sure you change the wallpaper as instructed there is a bug and if you do not you will loop.
Installation Instructions
WIPE, WIPE, WIPE
Flash the rom , boot complete, sign in, and let everything update.
THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!Change the wallpaper, I don’t care which on you pick just pick something different that the default one on boot
Then reboot to recovery
Flash the 691 kernel
Flash the EnableJIT.zip
Reboot (dont wipe)
It may boot loop once just let it go. if it doesn’t take reboot to recovery and flash DisableJit.zip
Reboot.
Then you can try again on the enable jit, once enable it has been smooth.

Strange but it was dialing right away for me until I set up my googlevoice app now the lag is back.
google voice will lag the dialer no matter what rom you're running.
it'll lag even more if you select the option for it to ask you each time you dial.

One thing I noticed after I flashed this to my hero was a2sd was version 2.7 Beta 7.
I was trying Fresh 2.1.2 earlier and I know that one used a2sd 2.7 update 1
I found the latest a2sd from another XDA post (sorry I can't post links yet)
so I copied that to my sdcard and flashed that and it seemed to update fine.
Is there any reason I should stay with the a2sd in the rom and not the updated one?
Flashed this a couple of hours ago. Nice to have a rom with everything in it. If I want something removed, then I just pull it. The only problem is that you cannot do a prl update. I pushed the OMADM.apk file from fresh to the /system/app folder and everything works as it should.
Great job getting this out there. Really appreciate it.
I have attached the apk to fix the updateing issue.
Only issue I've found so far is that Teeter won't run (It crashes for me on launch and I have to force quit).
Of course that may not be an issue for others, but I wanted to report.
Hello everyone glad to see there was a demand for something like this, Just my personal opinion but the dialer/phone lag seems to have been reduced greatly with the update, also the phone seems a little more responsive all around, havent seen any negative's about the update as of yet.

I was having the same issue updating my PRL and pushing the OMADM.apk file took care of it! On a side note I now have PRL 60666
Ive always found it interesting that Android’s stock browser does not have the Chrome browser icon, seeing as it technically is a mobile version of Chrome. So, I did some quick reversing and took the stock 2.2 browser and replaced the icon. The result is a new Browser.apk, identical to the original stock one except for the changed icon.
To install this, just read on for the full instructions. Note that we will be backing up your stock Browser.apk so you can easily revert the changes. Also note that this requires root.
Firstly, you need the Android SDK, available for Windows, Linux and OSX here
The following instructions are for Linux, but given you have set up the SDK correctly, the instructions are the same regardless of which operating system you use.
Firstly, connect your rooted phone running Android 2.2 to your computer. Then download the new Browser.apk and save it. Note that for some reason, the file name gets changed from Browser.apk to browser.apk when you download, so be sure to rename it.
Open up a terminal and navigate to the directory in which you saved your Browser.apk and then type in the following..
Code:
adb remount
Then we will take a backup of your current Browser.apk.
Code:
adb pull /system/app/Browser.apk Browser.apk.original
Then we will push over the new Browser.apk
Code:
adb push Browser.apk /system/app/Browser.apk
Lastly, we reboot the phone
Code:
adb reboot
After the phone boots back up, you will notice the new icon in your launcher menu. Enjoy!
This was tested and confirmed working on my rooted Nexus One running Modaco's rooted Android 2.2 ROM.
Think whoever moved this misunderstood what this is.. its an app basically..
theres something in market called fake chrome that does just this
Sure, but that wont replace the stock browser icon.. it will just add another one.. so then you have two..
Icon looks great; however, FC's on enom 2.11.3

If you tell me how to do that, that would be awesome, unless it is exactly like this:
-boot into recovery
-Mount /system partition
-adb remount
-adb shell
-cd /system/app
***I used -ls to list everything in the folder on my mac, not sure what the command or you windows people would be. But that listed every .apk and .odex file in the /app directory***
-Locate the files you want to remove
- rm what-ever-file-you-want-gone.apk
- rm what-ever-file-you-want-gone.odex
Oh hey, can you include voice search and voice calling in this clean stock rom by any chance?

Wow that didn't even cross my mind. Sorry to bother you so much, and thank you for the supremely quick responses. Also your doing a fine job on android development for the RCMagic. =]
well as long as my phone lives, it's on borrowed time, have to reflash radio alot these days cause it breaks alot now
Oh no, that's not good. Well even if it does go downhill, you can upgrade to those nice nifty new fangled devices, like the nexus one, or dare I say it, HTC evo!
not really the evo is nice but will not work in little denmark
the most fancy we have is desire or samsung galaxy
Oh, thats not good options at all. I'm sure something will come up to cold little denmark eventually though =]
Did not notice there was a separate thread for the spartan/minimal Rogers version.
capy do you perhaps have time/pleasure/both to implement this rooted stock rom...:
1) with ML
2) with extra APNs
3) without Rogers apps
You seemed pretty positive about this on the other thread, hence for bothering you again here
BTW, can anyone tell me if the following apps are inside this minimal ROM? Google contacts? The HTC dialer? The Google Calender? The Market?
Themed to look like the Gingerbread (2.3.x) Motoblur Builds from devices like:
Droid X/X2/2/3, Photon 4G, Triumph, and Atrix
This will work on BravoX Rom as well as stock Bravo 2.2.1 (as tested by abhi897)
I have only tested it on BravoX RC2 so I can't guarantee any results, anything you do to damage your phone is not my responsibility.
This modifies all of the framework-res.apk and some of the services.jar
What it changes:
Status Bar & icons
Popup menus
Buttons
Drop down menus
"loading" spinners
and other things i can't remember
Requirements:
Root
BandroidX's bootstrap recovery or Sndinit.apk (below) or have ADB set up with knowledge
some knowledge on what you need to do if something goes wrong with your phone (e.g. SBF, nandroid restore)
To apply:(With bootstrap recovery or 2ndInit)
Download the flashable zip below to sdcard
Boot into CWM recovery through BandroidX's recovery app
make a nandroid backup
Select install zip from sdcard
Select choose zip from sdcard
Select the downloaded .zip.zip
select yes to confirm
wait for installation to finish (a few seconds)
Reboot (will take a while because of the modded services.jar, so BE PATIENT!) Pull Battery and boot up again if boot takes longer than 5 minutes
Enjoy your theme!
(With ADB)
Download the .zip to you computer
Extract the services.jar and framework-res.apk to where your ADB directory is
Plug your phone in with phone portal and ADB debugging enabled (settings>applications>development)
Open up your command prompt
Type these commands (after each, press enter):
Code:
cd [directory of adb and .jar and .apk]
adb remount
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb push services.jar /system/framework/services.jar
adb reboot
(reboot will take awhile because you are modding the services.jar, so BE PATIENT!) Pull Battery and boot up again if boot takes longer than 5 minutes
Things needed in upcoming updates:
Change some white font to black for easier reading (such as pull down menus)
If there is anything else, let me know

Very Cool, I have DroidX and wow it looks just like it in the pics! I am going to install this on my dev bravo and check it out.
One note to users, I would not use the services.jar w/o my ROM, the services.jar is deodexed and you cant mix a dedodexed services.jar w/ a non-deodexed framework, you will bootloop.

This is Very Cool Jorgonv!!!
Jorg, is there a way we can get an Odexed version of the "services.jar" file, for those who wish to use the stock rom?
How does it run on the hardware? Any issues so far?
I will probably flash back over to the latest RC and test it out.
Lately, i have preferred staying on the stock Rom, as it seems to score better in Quadrant... (i think maybe because of the deodexing, it needs to do more at start-up, leaving some resources still open, or used.)
Never-the-less, I think the Rom bandroidx has compiled for is is am amazing piece of work, and only the beginning to our list of supported Os versions!!!
I can't wait to load this theme up on the RC.
Will test it out and see how it goes!!
bandroidx,
Do you foresee any work with a complete vanilla gingerbread, or higher, version of android being cooked?
This bootloader situation seems kind of sticky to me, what kind of keywords would you recommend i search for, in efforts to overcome this limitation?
Thanks!!
I love it!

Glad you like it. I've seen some people with the same syncing icon problem and the only solution was to wipe data.
I'm not planning to making it with a circle icon, this theme is only droid x 2.3.
I will be making more themes in the future, possibly with circular battery icons.

I tried to make an odexed version before bandroid's rom came out, but had no success. I could try again
I dont think the odexed version would make the phone run any slower. I am running the rom fine at 1 ghz and no lag. The only difference is the first boot-up after wiping the cache. after that, it boots up at the normal speed

you should read android central's new piece of quadrant benchmarks. real world feel is probably a better indicator and the rom feels faster.
the rom removes bloatware and services that would usually run and waste memory like voice commander nad others, the deodexing if anything should speed things up.
i am starting to think odexing is just a way for a oem to lock things down a little more. but i really dont know too much about beyond the basics.
quadrant can be swayed far too much by IO, and io can be effected so easily in so many ways.
either way, i wouldnt concern yourself too much with quadrant scores when deciding to run the rom or not. quadrant can be a good indicator like when overclocking (and nothing else has changed except clock speed) but when it comes to different rom's I am not sure its as good of an indicator. I do own quadrant advanced though so I can run it on the rom and see what scores differ specifically, i am betting on IO, but who knows.

Swype Beta, or the stock bravo one?
True. I flashed over to rc2, only, and it scored near the same rang as the stock..
I concur with the topic of real world feel, and benchmarks.. Benchmarks can only tell you so much..
Well, my interest is more towards breaking the boot loader moto has placed upon the newer phones.. Do you know of any current projects to defeat this you may be able to link me too?

I'm having the same clock text color problem for the update, but I already tried re-flashing and that didn't work. I'm going to try doing the cache this time to see if it works.
Edit: After wiping both the Davlik cache and the cache partition I re-flashed, but the clock text didn't change. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out.

I'll look into it more since there is a couple of people having problems
Just to make sure, it is date font when you pull down the status bar that is still white?
Great job on this theme, it really is great!
(7/3/12) THESE WILL NOT WORK ON CLEAN ROM, AS THAT IS ODEXED AND THE MOD IS DEODEXED. I will make odexed versions asap. Please give me a day or so. Thanks!
Steve
Hi All,
This is a port of hamdir's super smooth and ultra smooth Rosie mod. Please thank him at the original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656201. This mod basically "flattens" the widgets on your homescreen so they scroll more smoothly, and are less laggy...IMHO, it makes a HUGE difference in the smoothness and feel of your Rosie homescreens.
This mod come in both Regular and Landscape-capable Rosie versions, so please be sure to choose the right one for you...
As usual, you use this mod at your own risk, and I am not responsible for what happens to your phone, you or others as a result of using this mod...
THIS IS FOR DEODEXED ROMs ONLY...
To use:
Make a Nandroid backup and a backup of your current rosie.apk;
Download the appropriate zip and copy to sdcard ("LS" means "landscape" and "SS" means "super smooth", while "US" means "ultra smooth");
Flash in recovery (recommended to wipe dalvik cache)
Enjoy...and let me know if there are issues...
Steve

Ah, that is likely due to no dalvik wipe, try:
adb shell
su
rm -r /data/dalvik-cache
If it works, I will add to OP...REALLY want CWM recovery, this is a PITA!!!
Steve
i'll give this a try really quick and let you know...

Thanks, if you get stuck on loading, please wipe Dalvik cache...I'd try it, but flashing the RUU again for the 5th time today trying to get the installer scripts right for my "ROM" and the 3-dot mod...
it went through the app loading process after reboot but still no luck. how do i push the original rosie back?

See OP. It is attached. Just copy over to system/app
EDIT- I guess I might have to adjust how this is installed if it doesn't work for others, as the Rosie.apks are just fine...please let me know...
i cant get acces to any of my apps. how do i adb push it

okay, for a second i thought i was gonna get stuck on loading. i adb pushed onto an odexed ROM after getting rid of the original Rosie.odex. then i wiped cache before doing a reboot. i still have the 3d scroll effect. maybe you have the links mixed up
edit: i'm gonna try the other one

I'll test, I'm using windows so after pasting the apk in the appropriate folder how would I go about the cache wipe etc? No adb on the comp.

Hope AT&T One X can unlock at an early date!
yeah 3d cube effect is on both for me but the ultra smooth had noticeably less lag. easy install here, still not a Rosie fan. not until that dock is made clear

I think you have to be willing to factory reset. Same with anyone who is stuck on loading and has no access to adb...a factory reset will keep the mod, but you will, of course, lose your data.

It's still a cube, just it's "flattened", so it's a lot smoother, faster....

Yeah, I updated the OP, as it sounded like it would go back to the normal ICS scrolling animations, sorry bout that! It is a hell of a lot better, though, no?
Also, I am with you on the dock bar. A lot of the Rosie elements are in m10 files, which we can't edit yet (I think, fallen out of touch with virtuous studio)...I am guessing the dockbar is, as well, but haven't looked.
