I used QXDM's memory viewer to search for my ESN and after I did that the phone keeps restarting everytime I boot up QXDM. Does anyone know how can I resolve this issue?
Nevermind, I got it.

Everytime I plug the Shift into the computer everything works fine with programs like QPST and CDMA WS but when I try to connect to QXDM it resets the phone, any ideas?
*EDIT*
Nevermind, Bebbitt figured it out already!
Well what did you do to fix it? I have the same problem.
If I remember right, you need to turn off "core dump memory" or something like that and keep it from starting up on its own when you start QXDM. Did this problem start when you put in a address after scanning memory? I found a list of addresses for the Shift on here and one of the addresses I put in started this whole problem. All the credit goes to Bebbitt for fixing it though, we were stumped until he came up with the solution.
Hope this helps!
I came across an HTC 8X at my work, and it's stuck in demo mode. I've tried to boot the phone, and one of two things happen. I either get a exclamation point and then the phone reboots or I get a menu with the IMEI, SN number etc. I've tried to wipe the phone from settings and the only thing I am able to do is "update demo phone". There is a application stock on the phone called Microsoft Retail Mode which requires an RAC code. It also gives me the option of an admin password. I am unsure as to where to get these codes/how else to get this thing out of demo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I'm unable to flash the ROM as well)
I don't know if you saw this, but it looks like someone did a hard reset, and it took it out of demo mode...perhaps that would work?

so after almost a week of being down ive finally got my phone back to a workable condition. however, its stuck in roaming mode.
i did lose my imei, fixed that but it didnt seem to fix the roaming issue.
first thing i tried was to get a new sim card and the vz rep said as soon as i got data it would update automatically. i dont know if it did now.
the phone info screen doesnt show vzw and the carrier but it seems like everything else is correct(maybe).
i cant seem to get into the service menu except for a few different ends of it. nothing too helpful to this.
im trying to avoid sending it out to get fixed but after thins i may be stuck.
steps i made to get where i am
odin with root66
boot to factory recovery and factory reset(just to get it to boot)
used nv reader writer to write my imei to the phone.
reboot
still roaming
now in between these steps i did a lot of swearing and pming of people.(THANKS)
there are also some smaller steps that may have no importance to the outcome, but thats no big deal(airplane mode, switching the network have been tried)
does anyone have any semblance of an idea of what i can do from here?
Hi friends,
Does anyone have any idea which app/process causes the HiddenMenu "Invalid SIM" error? I have disabled the SprintDM app and the SIM Toolkit - any other ideas?
Thanks!
Maybe try the HiddenMenu app? It's in there. Device will prolly not boot after you remove it though, at least it didn't boot for me on my Moto e 2020. It booted though when I only Froze that app. You still will not be able to use another Carrier sim card though even if you freeze the app. Trust me, I tried on my Moto e 2020 before I ended up caving and buying the Carrier unlocked version for twice the price. I'm not sure if you are trying to bypass the carrier restrictions or not but it won't work. I bricked 3 devices trying. I do know the Carrier info is in the CID partition, but again, touching that partition will hard brick your device, which I found out the hard way. Freezing the HiddenMenu app will get rid of the invalid sim message though if that's all you are after
Does anyone know how to fix this issue . I'm using my original sim that came with the phone but it's tells me my sim is invalid. But if I put another carrier such as tmobile or sprint or metro i don't get this problem so not sure what messed up or how to fix but if anyone has any solutions please advise
Just got my S21+. Straight out of the box it kept shutting down.
Updated it to latest firmware bit still happening.
Can replicate the issue removing or inserting sim.
I'm assuming as it did this straight out of the box its a hardware fault?
Do a factory reset.
Before you load any apps see if it's stable.
Try another sim card. Don't remove it while device is powered on...
