Just got mines in the mail, The case is silicone , not hard or semi hard plastic, So will see how the wear and tear is, from my experience they tend to stretch out with heat and this phone is always hot when in heavy use.
It has some kind of coating that makes it non slippery in your hands but still able to put it in and take it out of your pocket with ease. The cuts on the bottom are off a bit. but it still feels snug to the phone, doesnt add any real thickness to it,
The extra head phones plugs are coo, They sent 3 of them, but on their website it shows a audiojack plug and usb plug, but i only received headphone plugs. I payed like 19$ for case plus extras (plugs), build quality is good, as long it doesnt stretch out over time i say its worth it... will take pic later if you want to see

Thanks for review. I have a seidio case which is awesome, except it bulks the phone up a bit. I'd be interested in a thinner case. Is this one a dust magnet at all? Easy to get on and off if need to open up back?

Hey guys,
I'm looking for a TPU-style case for my HP Touchpad. Everywhere I look, the cases all have the front flap to protect the screen. This just seems to be a gigantic pain in the ass that I don't want to deal with.
Anyways, I have a rubber case for my EVO 3D. It's actually this Rocketfish case from Best Buy: http://goo.gl/oDOiG
Is there anything available like this for the TouchPad? I've been Googling and searching forums for forever and can't find one remotely close. Silicone cases are too stretchy and aren't glossy on the outside. This one has a rubber feel to it and is glossy, so it doesn't stick to everything.
Thanks for the help!
I've looked everywhere I could think of any haven't turned anything up. I've been using TPU cases on all my devices and prefer them over anything else so wanted the same for the TP. They don't seem very common for devices of this size to begin with though. Maybe an enterprising XDAr will step up. In the meantime I'm using the HP case which isn't bad at all.
given some time I'm sure they'll show....bear in mind this has only just become the most desired commodity....so the vendors need a sample to dish out the cases
this is what I'm after too really. Appears to be a real lack of anything decent in the UK at the moment Hopefully there'll be more released soon!
This might do, it's not exactly what you're looking for though.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Leath...K_iPad_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item415cc817ba
The front piece that you can see rotated pops off so you can leave the back/front flap sections behind and still securely hold the pad in the case.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245482
I've only seen a few rocketfish products so far and so far they seem like overpriced crap. Haven't seen they're cases though, how is it and how much was it?
I actually didn't want the HP case and my mother talked me into it. I'm so glad she did. The flap doubles as a stand, and two positions, one angled for typing easier and one standing up so you can watch stuff easier. Totally worth it imo.
I'm actually thinking about funding another HP case and just slicing off the flap and putting a screen protector in...would do for the near term. Honestly I haven't yet found a situation in a week and a half where the stand part was useful.

Really? At least for me I found that the lower position with the HP case is a perfect viewing angle for when I have the Touchpad in my lap. It also makes it much easier to type.

I tend to either sit with my knees up (I have a knee injury and until surgery in October I have my lt knee up a lot) or I hold the TP with both hands and type with my thumbs...in either case I have no use for the flap.
Unfortunately I tried yesterday to find another case but couldn't - did find more Touchstones but one of those is enough for me.

Are their any Skyrocket Dock chargers out their? I have searched high and low and can not find any...
I found a universal one online the other day that would be perfect.
Here it is:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sinjimoru-Sync-and-Charge-Dock-Stand-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-S-ll-Color-Black-/220855903037#ht_500wt_1180
I bought the spare battery system from Amazon.
Part: ET-CGPK004GSTA
Came with a NFC-capable Samsung battery and stand, I put my phone in portrait with it plugged in and can use the AirDroid application to send messages.
looking too
Since they put the usb port on the bottom, I am guessing they want to expand to have speakers, alarm clocks and everything else you can dock these phones in. I am guessing that companies that make this stuff will take a while to get these products out. I'm tired of seeing every type of docking station for iPods.
Hopefully there are making this location standard on all the new phones so it could be more universal to fit most android phones.
If anyone finds anything I hope they will post to this thread!

This looks VERY interesting. I have a flexible skin on my SR, and I don't want to take it off to charge it.....for $5 and shipping this could be a good solution for someone with a thin protective cover.
Yeah, thanks for posting that nexendz. I started a similar thread here with some other options but have yet to find something right. Right now I'm using a business card holder with some foam stick on pads as a stand with the stock charger, although that costs about the same as that Zenis dock.

I, too, am using my old Infuse dock. It's a little big, but it charges fine and might be big enough to hold a SR with a thin case.

The diztronic TPU case works with it but is tight. The USB plug doesn't line up with it while the case is on, but it does fit into the dock with this case. I use this dock as well in my vehicle and I just take the case off when I do.

It seems to be universal and I worry a little about the connection on the bottom of the phone but it charges the phone and stands it up with any of the three cases I have used so far on my phone.
I started a threat here to see if anyone has tried using the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 dock for the Skyrocket. According to T-Mobile and AT&T, the phones dimensions are identically the same.
will that work with the SR?

For $5 I don't mind roughing it up so will try to dremel out the sides and see if I can get a better fit to avoid removing the case every time.

Removed 3mm overall from the sides to fit case. Now fits the sides but didn't account for the back so it's a bit tight but I don't mind as it keeps it well seated. It is hollow behind the plastic so you will see the void behind it but since the phone will be in the stand it shouldn't matter, at least it's not white plastic painted black which would look worse.
Thanks!

Actually this is a good thread.
Why does not ONE single phone have a #@)*%@#ing shutter that closes over the lens? Like a regular friggin' camera. It seems so blindingly obvious. I've had to resort to using a loop made out of scotch tape to keep it from getting scratched or dirty in my pocket with all other stuff I throw in there.
Now sure maybe that'd add too much cost for phones. But what is even easier/cheaper? With less excuse?
Why do phone cases not simply have a little latched door that closes over it? Or a shutter that slides over the opening, to cover the lens and protect it? This is actually a much better question.. they have no excuse. I mean what is the purpose OF a "case" anyway? Protection.
The fact cases only have a dumb hole there and no protection is nuts. Even "good ones" don't have this. I haven't seen a single case with it... has anyone else?
Doors on the lens inevitably lead to scratches. Over time dust/dirt builds up between the lens and cover. Slide the door, scratch the lens. This is why I have an Otterbox Commuter case. The phone is already too slim to hold (for me), and the rear shell has tapered cavities for the speaker, flash, and lens. I put a thin strip of painter's tape on the back to cover the lens and flash. This is better than scotch tape since you can easily peel it off and reapply it several times, and you don't need a loop on the end which can get caught on things.

Like bob said the dirt scratches the lense and also the space constraints I would imagine. Looking at the camera there is physically no way to put a mechnical cover on it especially since it protrudes out. It just isn't possible.

Well of course it's possible, but it would probably make the camera lens bump rather ungainly.

They would have to make the bump way wider to house the cover when it retracts and it would look so ugly. Then they'd have to axe the little silver ring around it which would make it even uglier.
Hmm painter's tape..thank you bobj0e. Will need to get some.
Still I think cases should have a door or something. Sure the phone itself does not have room such a thing with today's tech. But cases should easily have room since they are adding thickness. Which means they are adding space between a door and the lens, there should be several mm between the two at least. Right? Doesn't it make sense some case should have such a thing, to protect the camera?
I just purchased an ATT SGS4 after having an SGS2 for two years, and I'm still getting used to its larger size. I usually hold my phone in one hand, with a finger on the bottom/USB port. I continued to buy the SGS4 because I seem to be the only person on earth who actually prefers a plastic phone body to metal. I hate touching metal (it's a weird OCD thing).
The area around the micro USB port is metal, though, and when my finger rubs against the edge of the port, it feels sharp and slightly raised. And after holding the phone for a while, it irritates my finger. Has anyone else noticed this?

Hate you burst your bubble, but the "metalic" frame is polycarbonate plastic, just like the rest of the phone. It just has shiny silver paint.

The USB port "hole" is punched out of the main phone body and a notch in the plastic back cover. On my phone at least, the seam isn't perfectly aligned, so when my finger rubs against it, I feel a rough edge.

Just watch multiple breakdowns yourself and you will see lol, also it's the trend for all Galaxy devices since the Galaxy S 4G
It is NOT an entire polycarbonate shell.
Link you in a minute.
Also magnesium alloy is extremely light and durable. It's going to remind you of plastic when side by side.
Well, I returned my phone and got a new one. It seems like such a minor flaw, but it was bothersome. The new phone thankfully does not have the same problem and has a smooth seam.

This was done on a tear down and it sparked and cracked like magnesium does. It's a great design to be honest, strong yet extremely light. Stronger then aluminum actually.
