Hi all,
I've just successfully installed navigon 3.0 full europe map on my Samsung Omnia 7 with Mango RTM.
So today I decided to try it on the road. The app work well but the battery became too hot. Anyone have this problem??

I have the Samsung Focus, and yes it runs hot! It seems any app that requires any type of processing power, causes my phone to run hot.

My Omnia 7 is hot to under running Navigon 3.0. Anybody knows what is the problem?

i have same problem on lg optimus 7

Navigon 4.0 don't have this problem any more. Ok, it could be that weather is much colder at this time of the year, but it seems to me, that my Omnia is not so hot after upgrade to 4.0.

it doesn't work on my lg e900

HTC Touch Cruise very very slow to start up

hi guys, i have an htc touch cruise, its about 15 months old now. Its totally standard and i have not tried upgrading it, however it has become really really slow to start up lately. This morning i still could not phone anyone after 5 minutes, and it froze once! is there anything i can do to speed this up? i have an 8gb memory card in it with about 4gb of music, would this affect it? cheers for any help!
i forgot to add thats it actually an O2 Orbit II branded variant
What's your memory status? How much free device memory you have?
Maybe it's time to uninstall some software, or even hard reset device - remember, it's Windows...
see this is what i am thinking, fecking windows! this is my first XDA, so i just assumed, like my laptop, it will need re-installing once a year!!!! ha ha!
i might just take the opportunity to upgrade to wm6.1, good idea?!
If your Polaris is on 6.0 Pro, I don't suggest upgrade...

Why on earth not? Just curious what your position is.
Usually the newer 6.1/6.5 OS will is a lot more improved that the outdated 6.0. My vote definitely goes for upgrading your phone, it'll fix all your problems.(unless its a hardware issue)
My points are all written in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411883&highlight=Bodisson&page=13
In short:
- iGo 2006 stopped working
- problems syncing with more than one PC
- slower
- more battery consumption
There's more, but these 4 are my main reasons.

[Q] Samsung or HTC (WP7)

I want to buy a windows phone 7 device.
I've read some reviews but I don't know to select which one: Samsung Omnia 7 or HTC Mozart?
I've heard that some HTC devices are made in china and you can't install new (coocked) roms on it easily.
Software support is very important for me and I use to study on phone so a proper screen for reading is mportant.
Does every app run on mozart runs on omnia 7 too?
And something else: HTC mozart is cheaper than Omnia 7! It seems weird for me because mozart camera is 8MP.
In terms of cost the parts used to build the phone makes the price. Even if the mozart had a 8mp and the omnia had a 5 the 5 may be better because of the quality.
no more answer?

Navigon Europe on LG Optimus 7

Hey guys,
I'm considering switching from iPhone to a LG Optimus 7 but the offline GPS is very important to me. I've read that currently Navigon is the only solution, but only available for carriers in Germany.
Is it possible to install this on other phones too? Specifically the Optimus 7.. And do the European maps ported from the iPhone app work?
And one last question: is there any kind of 'hacking' involved with this? I'm buying a simlock free phone, but do I also need to jailbreak it (or the equivalent of jailbreaking for WP7)?
Any ideas?
As far as I know, navigon will be officially in the market after the mango update, but I think that this is where you're looking for

[Q] Wm 6.5 on EVO Shift 4G !

Hi Everybody !
you all know how strange it might be some requests form your boss but this is the most strange one !
My Boss has a system that work on WM 6.5 only and doesn't work on WM 7 and he requested that I should Provide him with 40 New WM 6.5 devices !
you know that they are not available currently So I figured out that I should buy new WM 7 Devices and Flash it Back to WM 6.5 !
I think theoretically this is possible but have anyone tried it ?!!!
I want to Try it on EVO Shift 4G Device , Could anyone tell me what the steps I need to do that ?
any other suggested Devices ? I only want it to be New ,with QWERTY keypad and I can install WM 6.5 on it !
Thank you all in Advance.
Evo Shift isn't a Windows Mobile device.
Windows Mobile 7 doesn't exist, it's called Windows Phone 7 and it's an entirely different thing than Windows Mobile.
Flashing WM 6.5 isn't as easy as just putting it in and flashing like a rom, you would need to write a supportive kernel with drivers and some way get the resolution changed. This would all be hand(dedicated coder) done since the parts inside android phone's are basically generations new compared to any Windows Mobile Phone.
thank you for explanation
Buy the HD2 best wm phone and you can put Android on it

You can pick up Touch Pro 2's pretty cheap. They can be OC'd to almost 1gHz. I used to run mine at 900mHz all day and night. It was upgraded to WinMo 6.5 . Later on I ran Android on it for quite a while. Dual boot Android, and WinMo 6.5 . On Android it was OC'd to 1gHz stable. So you might want ot look into that. Plus they're still pretty popular, so you can get help with them.

The problem is I cannot find 40 piece of Touch pro 2 from a trusted Retailer !
If you give Sprint a call direcly. I'm sure you could get them from thier refurb department. Might even come with a warrenty. At the very least they can probably point you toward someone who can help you. Also, last time I checked the site. They still sold them new. Been a while though.

[Q] Upgrade to Windows 8

Hi all,
I'm looking into buying a windows phone (found a htc 7 mozart really cheap) and I've made some extensive research on the os (I plan to start developing). However I have one question left: When Windows 8 will be released, will we be able to upgrade without having to change phones? Does anybody have any clue? Especially for 1st gen devices like the mozart.
Thanks in advance
i am sure it will, atleast the Windows 8 upgrade, maybe a bit later
else Microsoft have told about that
I really hope so. I want my focus to run Apollo
