[Q] Issue After Update - HTC Inspire 4G

Just recently updated htc inspire with the new gingerbread update. After phone reboots itself and turn back on, it is stuck on the white screen with the green HTC letters. Phone has been rooted already. I have taken the battery out numerous times and still goes to that screen and stays there. Is there any way around this?

wait...where you rooted before updating? or did u root after? was it ota or ruu? i don't think you can do an ota if your rooted. someone feel free to jump in and correct me if I'm wrong

Yeah if it was an ota, I believe that the update is supposed to fail before it begins if your rooted. Try a factory reset

well its getting late where I'm at but if you still need help tomorrow feel free to pm me

it was rooted before OTA update. i have already done the factory reset by holding the down volume and power key, but it still goes to the same screen after rebooting

[Q] T-Mobile Update Not Completed

Hello.
I booted my Galaxy S 4G (rooted but not flashed) last week and a t-mobile update started. It did not finished though, and since then I get periodic warnings that the device manager can not boot. There is a cancel button. I press the cancel and it tries again. After 2-3 times, the phone operates as expected. Another warning has just recently appeared having to do with a Google Service not connecting properly. This too goes away rather quickly.
Should I un-root and look for an update, then re-root?
Thanks for any advice.
I was having the same issue! It was freaking annoyin. What i just end up doing which really solved all the issues. Was to flash the doexed ((sry if i spelled it wrong)) that its post on the development section of the sgs4g by whitehawkx. And i flashed it through odin. It was just simple, easy and worth it.

Being rooted (or not) should have nothing to do with whether or not you get the update. The update removes root anyway, so that doesn't matter.
You should try manually updating via Mini Kies. Here are the instructions.

A CWM issue I've never experianced before?

I've been using clockwork mod recovery for ages now, on a few different HTC phones.
But now on my sensation running the latest CWM, whenever I go to clear my cache or data or anything related to a fresh install the process begins then the screen goes black (seems to be off completely) but the menu, back, search and home buttons still set off the vibration? The phone is completely unresponsive in every other manner, no way to get the screen back on without pulling the battery.
Anyone else had these issues? I've also had it when trying to flash a rom (very disheartening indeed to see "starting update" then a dead screen!)
Anyone clever enough to know what's causing it?

Try 4EXT I find it works better than CWM
Funnily enough I did, the touch capabilities seem brilliant, in fact its the recovery I'm on now. BUT............. I've just tried to update hypersensation to version 1.8 and it failed to install it! Began the process an then just rebooted recovery again?
It may be the phone I think? Not the recovery?

Bit of a noob moment here........ but will the fact that I recently updated my firmware to 3.12 be causing these issues?
Even though it gives you a locked bootloader you still remain s-off, so should still be able to flash to your hearts content right?

The new firmware shouldn't be causing you these issues. Try reflashing CWM and see what happens.
Thanks for the advice, I've literally just tried a fresh install of both 4ext recovery and CWM. Same thing keeps happening. Grrrrr!
So next logical step is a fresh download of hypersensation v1.8.
After that? Who knows?

Ok so a fresh download of hypersensation did it.
But still random recovery reboots when clearing data/system for a fresh install?
Never mind, 4ext does it.
Shut her down.

Freeze during calls

Starting yesterday my phone started freezeing during calls. I pull the phone away from my face during a call and after the screen comes back on I can't press any buttons or end the call. I have to end up pulling the battery to reset it. Everything else is working fine. Anyone have any idea what the world is going on here?
More info would help. Are you running stock or a specific ROM?

I had this problem while running stock deodexed roms. I switched to just the leaked roms and it took care of the problem.

Try doing a factory reset.
Tried factory reset, tried gtg's ultimate unbrick to go back to froyo and nothing. Also tried rooting and installing cyanogenmod but my phone kept booting i to android recovery mode instead of clockwork recovery for some reason

my friend has the same issue fixed by:
Wiping Data and doing a complete factory reset.
For the very first time I noticed this today. I think this has something to do with some random app we installed. Mine hung today even on incoming calls. A reboot fixed though.

[Q] i9029a 4.0.4 ota recovery error & stock Q

Hello everyone!
I restored a backup of my 2.3.6 rom, unrooted, locked the bootloader and got the ota sent to phone. I have warranty work coming up and I wanted to be 100% stock. When I power on phone with vol up / power and select recovery I am taken to droid on his back with a red exclamation mark in his chest.
Im guessing this happened when i did the update and noticed superuser was still there and it was a sys apk. So i rooted and used a root explorer to remove the apk and then unrooted. So my rom backup of 2.3.6 will always bring back the superuser. I looked around and have not seen much on this.
Any ideas or steps to take to fix and get 100% back to stock? I have a few ideas but i thought i would ask around first.
Thanks!
Try pressing the power button when you see the Droid figure with the red thing. Try combinations of buttons.

Yes when I use volume up and power it then brings me to the stock recovery. I wonder if I root and restore my 2.3.6 would rid the recovery error. But then I need to unroot and when I do the superuser app remains. I just need a 100% stock. PS. I root / unroot using fast boot.

I think the error is normal.

I did have clocktouch recovery flashed when I unrooted. Its like the custom recovery wants to load. Doesn't seem right. Hmm is there a root slash unroot method that completely removes su. I guess my option is to flash back to 2.3.6 or if there is a flash able stock 2.3.6 and try update again.

Bootlooping after root

So I was able to unlock my bootloader very easily. The problems began when I tried to install recovery. After doing so my phone has done nothing but bootloops. Thus, I tried a factory reset, and that fixed it and let it boot into the os. However, anytime I restart the phone it goes back into Bootlooping and the only way to fix it is to factory reset again, which is extremely annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
