Best Rom for me / Few basic questions HELP PLZ - General Questions and Answers

Ok
I got a htc desire Cmda carrier is us cellular
Im wanting a stock rom / look but if there are better ones with better features ill take that
Im just looking for the best rom That
Is all updated.
Rooted of course and all that.
And specially is better for battery saving.
Thats my main concern i just want the best rom for battery usage, i use my phone alot so i need it to have more life.
Idc for performance, Battery life is what i want.
I herd about overclock and undervolt but i want best battery saving one.
Can someone link me to a rom / mod for this?
And i want to know
Whats difference between gingerbread and froyo.
And whats latest android version / updates for htc desire cmda Us cellular model.
Please link me to a good rom for my needs.
Ive been looking around on this forum, and theres like a million roms, I need the best one but that has good battery life or if i can get a link to a mod for that.
Thanks for any help / links.

OS Gingerbread 2.3.4 has the best battery saving.
I have used InsertCoin which has some other nice features like porting for Sensations swype keyboard and sense 3.0.
But if you want high battery life a very basic ROM with almost no bells and whistles will give you the most battery, best to chose a ROM with no HTC sense (also known as rosie) Don't use live wall papers, limit the refresh rates of your accounts and sync, reduce the screen brightness, don't have WIFI or GPS selected only active when you need.
I purchased a 3000Mah battery which doubled my battery life, ugly because it is large and a new back cover was required.
Undervolting will only help when the phone is not in use, eg Locked
Hope this helps

[Q] Looking for ROM advice please

Hi there
I have an HTC Desire HD, currently running CM7.0.3 ROM. Its my first ROM I have used and it seems to be one of the popular ones. I'm loving the speed my phone is now running at, and the smooth UI, But there is one big problem since I have flashed this ROM, My battery life is ridiculous. 3 hours of usage and its down to 15%, Im charging my phone twice a day and its about 2 months old.
Stock android had excellent battery life. Now besides the battery life I am kinda bored with the ROM now.
I'm looking for advice on which ROM you recommend, There are so many, I just want some personal opinions.
This is what I am looking for in a ROM:
GOOD BATTERY LIFE
Stylish panels and buttons
Must be based on the latest Android software
Overclocking options
Smooth and fast running
Ag hell, If you know of an excellent ROM with Excellent battery life then let me know. Please post a link to its page and why you love it.
Thanks!
Coredroid are a great set of roms for the desire ...ive been using them for a while and they have never failed me

Looking for ROM for GF

What's the best ROM for the Sensation in regards with battery life? And performance too (2nd priority)?
Or what do you use and why?
I know asking this question is against the law on XDA, but my girlfriend gave me her phone and asked me make it better. I have a Droid Razr and have it rooted and such. And have rooted/flashed HD2s, HD7s, G2X, and Droid Bionics, so I am not a complete noob.
LeeDroid has been the most stable ROM Iv;e used with the best battery life and performance.
What specifically doesn't she like about the stock rom? It might be easier to make a suggestion, for example, if she hates sense.
Well she's not tech-savy. All she complains about is battery life. And something with better performance will be a nice surprise.
I just came from a few different sense 3.5 roms to an Optimized Stock rom by maff1989. I was tired of random reboots on the sense 3.5 roms plus my battery life sucked so yesterday I switched. My brother has a completely stock sensation and his battery often outlasted mine so you could probably cross those out. Just my experience.
Have you checked her battery log to see what's draining it the most?
I actually gave my girlfriend my Nexus One, which I flashed Cyan on and installed a purple theme(her favorite color) from the market, showed her how to use the photo album widgets, and such. She's become pretty savy with it now, and she loved it when I gave it to her.
Well you're never going to get "good" battery life on a Sensation, but you can improve it. My wife runs InsertCoin 2.5.5 with Bricked kernel 1.5 r1 beta 1, undervolted by 25k and she doesn't complain.
Right now I'm running Pyramid3D 8.2.1 with Bricked 1.6 beta 2 kernel, undervolted by 50k, stripped sense. This is a fresh flash, but so far, so good.
But like I said, neither of our phones have "good" battery life. If I had to rate, I'd just say "ok" but better than stock.
In my experience, they love MIUI w/ Go Launcher EX.
With the MIUI default launcher I remember she hated it. It was a "too boring" iPhone look. Go Launcher EX fixed that problem, just hook her up with the widgets in these 3 apps and she will love it

My vote goes for MIUI ROM.
Great battery life, bling, simple, looks different then other ROMs , if your gf is not concerned with sense and wants a custom Rom that does what HTC's android don't then it's the best option.
The reason that I wrote this is because in my circle people give me their androids to root them, but they have no idea what rooting is , I have tried several roms on Samsung Galaxy 3,galaxy s, galaxy s2,LG optimus one, hd2, HTC incredible, HTC EVO 3d, and more but generally people have a better opinion about MIUI, than others, and its because of different themes and outlook of MIUI, while other roms are not so different compared to MIUI (SKIN DEEP IS WAT I MEAN).I personally use ARHD 4.1.X. (Sense 3.5) on my sensation.
Well you can get her on a CM7 based rom and she already knows how to use it so that part is easy... Then secondly I would get one of the Anker extended batteries and make sure you go through a few battery cycles and on top of that try undervolting it to like a 1ghz i mean the iphone 4 is only 800mhz lol

I got 48 hours on stock. I get 24 hours on ARHD. Going back to stock then probably selling it.
Check out the ROM in my sig. I think she'll like it.
Very stable, very fast, and great battery life (1.5 - 2 days moderate use, 4+ days standby)
Pyramid 3D or LeeDROiD Sensational. My two favorite hands down, and I've tried them all.

Not happy with current archievement of my device

Hello my dear friends and Samsung users,
How are you doing? I've been happy since the day I switched from Iphone 5 to Samsung S3. But now I need a bit of your help and some advice of a pro.
Look, I got a Samsung SIII GSM loaded with the newest Omega ROM Custom and a Avast! Secure software on background. It's rooted and also ready for being used.
I'm not really happy with the custom ROM though, so I describe below what I'm looking for. Perhaps you can help me:
- I need a lot more performance and speed, I want to push to its limits. Currently it reacts not as fast as I want when I go to unlock screen and unlock it for example. I also want to run apps and important tasks much more faster and effectively. Better than an Iphone 5.
- I don't care about battery usage and drain. It's absolute unimportant, I want more performance instead.
- ROM doesn't matter either, as long as it can help me to perform very satisfying performance.
I use my device a lot, when it comes to gaming, surfing on the internet, camera and chatting with friends using What's app. So you can imagine why I want all that.
I'm not really sure what to do, there are so many ROMs and Apps that can improve performance. I'm not sure, which one is the most recommended though, so I really need your help.
I also use apps such as CPU Tuner, SD-Booster, AutoKiller Memory, CacheMate but isn't that dispensable? I mean, custom ROM do already have these functions included, don't they?
Please help me
You know partner you'll probably get a lot more help if you post this on the international forum. This is the Verizon forum so I doubt anyone here knows much scout the ROMs available for your phone

Is there a guide to maximizing VZW M8 battery life? Best Roms ETC

I was just wondering is there a good compiled battery life walk-through? I'm relatively new to android and brand new to the M8 and my main goal is just maximizing battery life for calls/texts/web browsing with occ facebook twitter. Dont really use my phone for anything graphical at all.
Would love to hear from the VZW M8 gurus. I was thinking of doing the root / s-off and then going with a rom like vipermod.
Trying to learn how one uses programs like greenify but it seems kind of hard to understand. Man do I feel dumb. Things are so much more complicated from my OG Sprint EVO days

ROMs, as a general rule, have little impact on battery life. Read through this thread here, it's in the Nexus 5 forum but is applicable to any android smartphone; http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/battery-life-help-troubleshoot-battery-t2785128

Battery life & stability for 5.*.* and 6.*.* ROMs?

A friend of mine has complained about their stock 2013 KitKat Moto G (Falcon, I believe) locking up and generally lagging a lot. She's asked me to take a look at it.
I root and ROM all my own phones, but when it's someone else's device I'm a bit more hesitant, as I don't want repeat problems coming back needing to be fixed.
Since I've never owned this phone I want to get advice from you guys regarding whether the battery life of Lollipop and Marshmallow ROMs takes a hit versus KitKat, as it did on my Nexus 5? Also, what ROM would you recommend for absolute stability, along with decent battery life? Extra features are not a concern, my friend has no desire to customise her phone or do anything outside of Facebook/email/web-browsing and other consumer-app use.
Alternatively, do you have any tips for increasing the performance of the phone on the stock (non-rooted) software ? I haven't looked at it yet, but I imagine that with just 1GB of RAM, it could probably be improved by disabling Chrome and installing a more lightweight browser. I realise that Motorola don't really install much bloatware on their phones, but is there anything that I can disable that will help?
