Hi all- just got a sensation the other day and have started modding away- came from the G2X and i must say i am excited for what this phone has to offer!
I have a question about the bootloader- i have been getting used to this new bootloader and all its options. The other day i chose the Image CRC option and wasnt sure what it exactly did- i did get the calculations screen but dont know why it took so long so i am wondering what else it did to my phone . I have searched all over the web and through the forums and couldnt get an answer to this- can anyone help me in explaining what exactly this option does?

Hey, just wanted to tell u it does nothing, it just checks for sum kind of checksum i think. It is nothing fatal

Correct
It stands for Image Cycle Redundancy Check and that is basically exactly what it does.

Hello everyone, I re-edited this post. I would like to know if there is a way to edit the framework.apk and go to the bools (I think) and refit some of the XML codes so we could have our old gingerbread lock animation, all help will be appreciated. Thank you.

and short answer, not really, after a full reboot, the change is lost...
best way to find out? try it! im not a fan of it, so im not even going to bother, but if you root, keep it and copy the files to system, it should work in theory...
but im pretty sure that you have to reboot for the settings to stick :/

It's not like the big letters and colors are inserted by themselves..
You should go back and edit that buddy, or prepare for people to come in here *****ing about it...

And to the OP I don't know but like the above poster said try to copy the files you need to /SYSTEM and then use the FastReboot app, to trick your phone into believing that you have rebooted it and hoefully the changes will stick.

It should be in services.odex, I decompiled it using backsmali but I dont know what to edit. Any help?
I found that it should be in PowerManagerService.smali
there is an app in the market called something screen off and lock ..which has 2 different crt/tv off animations

i've read in a other thread how to enaple the crt effect for an android 2.3.4 device easily (just change one line of code in the /system/build.prob file). but sadly... this line of code don't exists on my device (android 2.3.3)
well..my inspire 4g got bricked..unlocked the bootloader via easyunlocktool..
and flashed an ICS ROM..
then got bricked..
tried few ways of unbricking..
but just didn't work for me..

You need to provide a little more detail than that if you expect useful help. What did you do? What error messages did you see? What have you tried? As best as I can guess, you're stuck on the splash screen after unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom ROM. If that is the case, read my signature.

As far as I know details are always useful when asking for help, regardless of device. Was I correct in my splash screen guess?

It was never truly broken. You will need to do this each time you flash a ROM.

I unlocked bootloader and now my xperia L doesn't boot up. It's stuck in the color flying boot animation forever.
I used sony website to get the key and fastboot.
What can I do?

Yes, right. As for now theres no fully working cm,aospa, pa and etc and just for sure the latest FM is 15.3.A.1.12.

Restrain yourself from giving BAD ADVICE to people at least until you learn little bit about how the procedure works. OP issue has been solved a long time ago. Now do yourself a favor, learn proper English and then go out on the net and read a lot about flashing, and modding.

Better start reading up on GSI and how to handle them first. No one might be able to elaborate on the pros, cons, and problems at hand in full depth for sure. Would take days to get those things explained to someone who's new. Modding in the end still is based on the willingness of a thorough self study about new ways and there basics, of those who want to use and try those ways out.
If you read up on it, and got some more context, it would be possible to helping there are specific questions on the details. But it ain't possible to explain everything, due to the massive changes.
