Post your data speeds..and location an amount of bars or db's... I have noticed that my data speeds are way faster than a month ago..now I can get 900kbs at 3 pm with 3 bars..it used to be about 150-300kbs..sometimes I can get 1500kbs at mid day which is perfect for netflix..

I compared my data speed to my friends Samsung epic in downtown OKC.
He was getting well above 1500 a lot while my fastest one was only 953. (5 bars for both phone)
In the pic, the first 2 are in downtown
the rest are at my house, a suburb.
I wish my triumph had faster data!
Just ran it from home @ 10p - 421 down. 106 up - two bars.
Interesting in that the download is slightly higher than usual, while the upload is MUCH lower than usual.
I'm getting much better service yesterday and today than I had last week.. Just tested, and with 2 bars, I'm getting 1253 down, 447 up.
Last week (or even Monday and Tuesday of this week), I was constantly getting drops to 1x and losing data altogether. So someone fixed something around here.
My personal best
2.23 DL
On my back portch, 2 bars. Pretty lame, at work (in town) I get full bars. I'll try it there.
Not sure why its all red.

LAME speeds... cool phone.
I'll post a screenshot later, but the last 4-5 days I've been averaging 150 kbps or so on the download, with 200-300 on the upload...
I'm in St. Joseph, MO running about 2 bars. Don't know what actual sig strength is.
Still lovin' the phone. The network? Meh. Not so much.
Haha.. Now my data is EXTREMELY slow.. Cant get over 100 kbps

My test scores have been all over the chart, with my best maxing out at around 1100 down and 500 up, and then I was pretty much parked right under the tower.

Hey guys i'm using the HTC Thunderbolt and i'm have an issue. The first week I had it I was getting speeds from 20mbps all the way to 32mbps down...now im barely getting 5 up and 3 down. Any advice?

same here, im gettin 11 up and 5 down.
los angeles, ca.
As more 4g devices are sold our connection will get slower and slower you can't really expect 20mb down can you? I mean Sprint network only gets 3 down on 4g ours won't get that slow but just a comparison.

5 up and 3 down here also, it has slowed way down for me!!!
Had that problem the other day. I was getting mid/low 2s. 5 isn't that bad. It's advertised speeds are 5-12.
EDIT: Just checking my speeds now, getting low 2s again.
that should be around what it should be once lte gets more and more used right?
I'm getting 10 down and up. What ROMs and radios are you guys using?

I'm getting no issues on mine. Speeds are still the way they were. ~25down ~6-7up (in mbps)
of course that could change as more people jump in to the lte bandwagon.
In Cincinnati I was pulling 30ish down the first week, and now I am seeing consistant 11 everywhere, and in some places 15-20. Depends on where I am. Same signal strengh where I am at home and at work, but at work I do sit around 20 down, and at home 11ish.
Pretty happy with LTE over all, compaired to the WiMax I had that I couldn't even get in my house. lol.
23.09 Mbps down and 15.75 Mbps down here, it stays about the same all day, give or take 5 Mbps.
thats on CM7 though, im sure on stock it would be higher.
It's been the same for me and better too. At work my speed has been consistently ~17-20Mbps. The difference in the last week has been at my house, where I've gone from ~5-9Mpbps to ~15-20Mbps, rivaling my home FIOS connection. WOOT!
As long as VZW continue to expand their 4G network, it should be relatively easy for everyone to break 10Mbps
I haven't seen any noticeable difference here in the Metro-Detroit area. Last speedtest i ran was around 13-15 up and 4-5 down.
One thing to remember is that the speedtest.net app doesn't give consistent or accurate readings. If you go to speedtest.net from your phone's browser, you'll see much more accurate results.
Just ran a speedtest and got 30 down and 7 up. No difference at all for me. I'm in Baltimore, MD.

i dont live in philly but ive never tested above high 7's down/up. fastest has been 7.8ish down and the same up. normally it's between 5 and 6. i've been to and thru the city a lot since getting the TB @ launch, including testing with 4 bars on a boat under the Commodore Barry Bridge, elsewhere on the Delaware river, and a few miles up the Schuylkill with no obstructions and the fastest was still mid-7s. Also have done tests in Olde City, near the sports complex, and in centre city. nothing above 8.
across the river in NJ along the 295 corridor i get the same 4G speeds as philly. i've never tested faster than 8mbps down anywhere so far, which includes all of philly, northern DE near Wilmington, and the baltimore-DC corridor and greater DC.
running stock non-rooted with speedtest.net app. via wifi @ home i hit my advertised speeds of 16-20 down
maybe our 4G just sucks...didnt they even do initial LTE testing here? verizon is extremely present and active in phila. since it's basically a home city for them.

Actually I'd say your 4G rocks and is the best management of Verizon's network. They advertise 5-12Mbps down and 2-5Mbps up, and you are in the middle to low end of that guaranteed speed down and easily in the middle to top of the upload. That means Verizon is paying for the right amount of bandwidth to all of their towers in the area that you have been on, without overpaying to have way more than is needed like the people getting 16Mbps all the time. That 16Mbps means they have like 2x more bandwidth than needed, so they are paying the ISP's twice what they really need to and are thus making less money, from a business standpoint your region is the perfectly managed area. If your average speeds drop below 5Mbps be sure to call in and complain though.
Meh this LTE network is finckey. I probably should have specified that im in more of the suburbs in Radnor near Villanova

This is so noob but is Brookfield anywhere near kenosha? Chicago 4g cuts out a few miles south
(i don't live in wisc so i wouldn't know where you are in relation )
Kenosha is on as well, saw it yesterday afternoon.
The SpeedTest.Net app gave me the following results:
10951 kbps download , 4827 kbps upload on 4G
LTE confirmed here in Milwaukee, although the official day isn't until tomorrow. I've noticed my phone swapping between 4G and 3G while in doors, but outside it stays solid on LTE. My speeds are about 9-10 down and 5-6 up. Nice!
central CT is supposed to get it tomorrow but we've had it for 3 days!

Menomonee Falls is Live as well
Now im glad I dumped Sprint last month for my T-Bolt..actually wait I was glad before, sub 300kb downloads, sometimes even hitting sub 100kb were upsetting me and my Evo and Verizon fixed that all up
Careful what you ask for...it's like Crack.
Been on it since day 1 with my bolt in Metro Detroit.
Traveling outside the area...sucks...

I remember this month was supposed to be the massive Wisconsin rollout, and im sure most of us arent complaining it was 2 days early lol.. Oddly enough I just tested the 4G against my WiFi connection off my road runner with turbo boost, and the LTE smokes it
LTE kicked on at 4:50 PM today in Lansing, MI, and it's also live in East Lansing, MI. I've seen speeds as high as 18 Mb/sec down and 4 Mb/sec up right at the state capitol building, and 24 Mb/sec down and 3.5 Mb/sec up at my apartment in East Lansing. Signal strength here is fluctuating from 2 and 4 bars, but everything is really damn fast. I'm streaming HD Netflix right now when I can't even do that on my wired connection here, haha!
Maybe it's just me, but my battery life is not that bad at all. In fact, thus far based on this week's performance it hasn't been any worse than 3G. This could be because I am in-doors and the phone occasionally drops back to 3G for short periods of time, but I recall my phone going dead in 6-7 hours when they first started turning on LTE for testing last month. Could the dreaded battery drain have been a LTE network issue and not a Thunberbolt/call phone issue?
Please report back your battery life!
I've typically made it through my work day (9-5) and returned home with 65-70% battery left before LTE kicked on. It is just before 2:00 PM now, and I'm looking at my Thunderbolt and seeing 51% battery life remaining.
I think i have a slow download speed. so i wanted to see what every one else is getting. correct me if i am wrong but t-mobile 4g should be in the range of 7 - 11 mbps or higher. Well i live near Salt Lake and i am getting 1 - 3 mbps. Is this really a 4g speed? if not how do i fix it? i have tired several modems with out much of a speed change. Thanks for you guys input.
It really depends on the area.. At work, I only get about 1.5Mbit download speed. At home I can get about 4-5Mbs on a good day. At my GF's house, I can get 12-15Mb download speed.
I get around 18 mb

I travel all over and still slow as 3g speeds
I get 7 megs in st pete fl on simple mobile 60$ plan at my house with 2-3 bars dunno snr db or anything didnt check
It really just depends on your location. At home I get 15+mbps down but at school around 4 down which is not that bad considering my friend with the Droid razr can only get 1-2down with lte.

I would be happy for 4+, in most places.
Is there anyone on here with a Tbolt in the Salt Lake area?
If so, what 4g speeds are you getting?
I am down in Sandy and not getting more than 4 down and 1.5 up consistently for past few days. Seems way lower than what other people are posting in major cities so I wanted to compare
Thanks

I live in West Valley and when I do pick up 4g, it's around 5d 5u typically. I work off of 201 and redwood and I get 9d 8u there. It's definitely getting there, but they still have a lot more towers to install in order to eliminate all their gaps here.
in NYC here, I average around 12 / 7, with peaks around 30/15 and valleys as low as 2 / .5
lack of towers is certainly no excuse here...given the wildly varying speeds people are reporting and the number of times LTE has been down completely since it launched, I just don't think the network is as stable as it could / should be yet
still though...I love the phone itself, and when LTE works properly it's a thing of beauty
Thanks for the replys. I figured out the problem is at my house. I am not that far from the tower, but the evelation of my house is about 500 feet higher than the tower. Hard to keep a stable 4g signal and when I do its 4 up 1.5 down max. 3g signal is solid though and always has been which is confusing.
Drive down the hill 1 mile away and around the valley and I am closer to 12 up 6 down.

thats about average. The vzw call center is in WVC and the highest Ive gotten there is 9d. But I was sitting 100ft from the tower in their building.

when i first got my TB and LTE phones where not everywhere i got 42 mb down and like 10 up. now it is more in the range of 12-18 down and 6 up.
The best I've gotten is 8 down and 8 up, but I'm in a huge market where just about everyone has LTE on their phone.
Arent the radios inside the TBolt designed to get at most 12mbit up down and the speed test app was flawed when the tbolt first came out, causing inaccurate results?
I don't think the radio limits anything but if guys are using the speed test app you won't see much speed cause that app is very inaccurate. I always do regular browser tests like you would on a computer. The results are usually a lot higher and more consistent.

Fort Wayne, IN here! I used to live in Elkhart a few years ago. Best speeds I've gotten is about 10mbps down, although I haven't had my TB for too long to do lots of speed tests.
Best I've ever gotten was 37Mb/s down, can't recall upload. I use http://speakeasy.net/speedtest/ and the location for the best speed varies almost daily.
The best I've ever got was the day after the TBolt was released. I got 25 mbps down and 30 mbps up. Now that more people use LTE the speeds arent as impressive. last test i did i got recently was 11.05 down and 4.83 up. In Rochester NY
