proof:
http://twitter.com/#!/jeb_/status/103164030037934080

I was browsing through xda... then I saw you thread title. My expression: WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Will it be free?
Good news regardless ;-)
Sent from my R800i using XDA App

Any ideas how much it will cost?

Why would it be free?
I believe it's going to be $7.

WOOHOO I was sitting there like 40-minutes try'na make the downloads of the demo/beta work but NONE of them work
Theres nothing like being in Teh Sandbox (Afghan') with your SA80 next to you hoggin' up the Computers at the CompCafe playing Minecraft.. Now I can do it out in teh field. THIS IS what the SolarPoweredMonkey is for. Not charging a friggin iPod!!

Hell I'd be ballzy enough to buy it and stick it on a download site/email it to people.. Rooted Phone FTW..
So glad I decided to go with teh Play now. Although.. I saw the Video months before I got the Play (Even though it was PINGCHAT! & iPlayer that made me give my Dad the Wildfire and get this!)

7$... but I'm sure it'll be free on teh internetz in a few days.

Hell ANYONE running a Rooted Play could put it up ASLONG as they dont need login or have a licence file.. because then people will be trying to hack that to be free too!
There ARE free launchers of MC out there anyhow.. So maybe someone will make an aftermarket launcher thats free based off the paid one? just as with Windows?
I run it on Linux normally (On teh Toshiba laptop) and Windows from USBstick normally (With "PocketLauncher" etc)

Im guessing they will charge you to buy the app unlike the PC business model where you just buy a premium account.
I wouldnt be too happy about paying for the game again. If its just classic mode without multiplayer then I will give it a pass. if it does have multiplayer then I may change my mind

Guys, if you want more good games on the Play, pirating the biggest game to come to it isn't going to help. Just means we'll get less games that will support it. Just put down a few bucks and show your support.
As far as I know, the game will evolve just like the PC version had over the years.

Totally agree with you zerojay, theres no reason to justify pirating games, especially from indie developers.

WordWise - Scrabble type game!

Finally! I've been waiting for a game even remotely close to Words With Friends for the iPhone to come out and I just found this the other day. And no, this is not a plug... I didn't make the game, I'm just excited about it and wanted to spread the word

wow, 8 bucks for that game compared to 1 dollar for wordwise in market. lol.
EA Mobile (makers of the iPhone Scrabble game) also makes an Android version. Oddly, they make it near impossible to find, purchase, and download.
On some Android phones you can simply go to rim.eamobile.com and find it by browsing. It's $7 just like the one a few posts up but if you like the iPhone version you might prefer this one since the interface is nearly identical.
That said, browsing the EA Mobile site does not work on all Android phones in which case I'd recommend using "User Agent Switcher" in Firefox from your PC to trick the EA site into thinking you are browsing from a compatible device. That's what I had to do and I'd be happy to post instructions if anyone needs them.
Alternatively, if you send me a PM I'd be happy to share the apk so that you can test it out before buying.
EDIT: I just saw the version on Handbrake and interestingly it is also made by EA, however, the interface is quite different than the iPhone-esque version available through the EA site (at least when I bought it a month ago). They are either selling multiple versions or did a redesign.

Seems to me like the official one doesn't support online games. From the site it states the following game types:
Play alone
Play computer
Pass and play (which to me sounds like handing your phone back and forth)

My thoughts exactly. I can buy the physical game for $10, and a used one from a garage sale for no more than $5.

Be careful when purchasing from Gameloft, save your .apk files. If you decide to install another rom or change phones in the future, they do not allow you to download the file again without having to purchase it again.

True definitely save the Apk.
from the Gameloft website
I deleted my game, can I download it again?
Gameloft's policy is that if you buy a game, you can re-download it on the same device with the same phone number within the 90 days of your purchase. To re-download your game, go to http://gameloft.com on your mobile and click on the 'My Downloads' link at the bottom of the page. You will see the list of all the games you purchased so far that you can re-download. If you purchased your game on our website on your pc using your credit card, enter the 'My Account' section at the top of this page and re-download your game(s) after signing in.
Keep in mind you will be charged for any data fees your carrier may charge for downloading your games.

Since this is already a thready about gaming.. Other than Emulators does anyone know of any games that support keyboard commands or bluetooth game controllers?
I figure at least with keyboard commands you could map it to the controller.
it would be great to to just need a micro HDMI and bluetooth controller to play games on any TV with an HDMI input.
I'm waiting for the datel Wii retro wireless controller to show up in the mail. Its cheap, has bluetooth built in so I wont need a nunchuck, & used the BlueputDroid app.

http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011
and the 2 that don't offer free trials
http://www.eamobile.com/android

this is the Datel I am waiting on, I like that it doesnt need the nunchuck like the factory wii controller
this is where I ordered from

for those interested DONT buy this from Ioffer.com they sent me an Email telling me the seller I was about to buy from was a scammer.

That is not true. I bought Nova and Gangstar back when the EVO came out last year and I just re-downloaded both of those games from gameloft's site. When it asks you what device you're using you just need to select whatever device you purchased it on at the time. Also saving your apk won't do you much good because when I tried installing my saved apk on my G2X, when it got to the in-game download it would not allow it. I had to re-download the apk from their site. SN: re-downloading Nova worked whereas re-downloading Gangstar worked, but the game didn't run correctly (had a lot of white squares everywhere).

9mm to Xperia Play?

Do you guys think we will get '9mm' optimized for our Plays?
The game is available for iPhone, iPod and iPad today, and and gameloft says that the game will come to Android soon. What do you think?
Youtube video
I would love to play this on my Play with real controls :d
i hope we do. i got it on my iphone 4 and love it. it woukd be great to try with the controller
Haha just the other day I was looking for this game for Android and came to the same conclusion as you.
I'm pretty sure they'll optimize it, since they already have a lot of games with working stuff, except the sliding aiming pad which sucks hard IMO.
Let's hope they don't take too long to release it.

I think it works pretty good with the right settings and some training
Maybe I'm not used to it yet, right now I play NOVA2 from time to time and even if I try to move just a little bit and barely move my thumb I never get precise aiming - far objectives where they aren't auto-aimed.
Who really cares about gameloft games 3/4 of them suck the controls are just terrible I hope that some other game developer jumps on this phone and starts making games cause I refuse to pay for a game that doesn't even control properly. DARK in my opinion is the best shooter this phone has

I hope so.I thought the game look alright
I really hope they do, but with the time taken to port order and chaos (1 month so far and still not officially available) I think we will be left behind or wont get it at all, lets hope they start taking it seriously. Why not just allow us to set our own controls, open it up and let me set hardware buttons to anything I want

I love most gameloft games - they have their faliures, but they create decent games across multiple platforms and multiple devices at a very reasonable price point. Plus if you have any problems they are very helpful and will give out free games as compensation.

There you go again. Stop with the personal attacks. People are entitled to their opinions and not everything is Daises and Roses. If you can take the bad with the good then maybe you should be the one to go away.
We are all adults and come here to discuss gaming and the Play. If enough people complain and someone from Gameloft reads it then maybe they will do something about it. You are not the Forum police so please stop the personal attacks.
Or are you a Dev from Gameloft and can’t take the feedback?

If people dont like gameloft games, don't buy them, the only way gameloft will get the message is when they get there bank statement XDA is about sharing ideas and experiences, not moaning about the same thing every day on every single thread, this thread is about the possibility of 9mm for the play, no1 cares what thatsupnow thinks of gameloft, it's not even relevent to the thread, and to be honest we have all heard what he has to say, again and again and again .......

Not really. Just like Call of Duty BO people buy it anyway. BO was the only game I have ever sold. I keep my games no matter what. People don't know the controls suck if they are not told. And after you buy the games it's too late.

What's the thread title? It's certainly not "What's your opinion on Gameloft games controls". I agree with the other guys. I own like 5 gameloft games, I know damn well that some of them suck balls for controls, I don't need to see it everywhere on these forums, only in appropriate places. This thread is about a single game, 9mm, which isn't even out for Android yet so you have no idea how it controls on the Play.

I don't see how XBL would be related to a game getting Xperia Play controls.
Sounds like they already laid out the plan for this game and are done with it, much like that Captain America game I would not expect it to be XP optimized anytime soon.

Why has an xbox game, got anything to do with this half assed port, and their money making scheme..in app billing, for that..it should have been the full game, for a couple of quid, from the off.
in app billing + dodgy controls + ads in paid game + episodic = failure, In my book.

Buy the game, buy the episodes, click on the ads, support the developer.
Android game development is still kind of fragile at this point. Great games rarely get over 10k downloads, Amazing games rarely get over 100k downloads.
Just spend the dollar and consider it a donation to the developer to continue working on the game.

With the way this game is looking I doubt they'll add support (hope I'm wrong). With ads in the paid app and a crappy port I'm betting they're just making as much money as they can till people figure out it's a waste of money.

Your comment was "they wont add xperia play controls because the game is episodic" like thats a bad thing or what **** devs do, my point was episodic games are everywhere even in main stream gamimg. I wouldnt know if the game has ads because like anyone else with a brain cell i'm using ad free to hide them. But FYI even some of the top paid apps on the market like 360 live pro have ads too. Does that make there dev dodgy too???
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
I wouldn't use 360 live pro, not after paying, and having ad filled stuff in my face..
I just don't agree with that.
Free users, yeah, slap an ad or two, but not for paid for software.

That's not how it works. This is not published as an alpha program which will be updated in the future and for which donations would be welcome. This is a full fledged program which is being sold with certain commercial practises. Sticking ads in a paid product, not adding Xperia Play controller support and in app Billing in such a short game are not good practises, and buying the game implies supporting them.
Voting with our wallet means not paying for crud. If we buy it, more crud will come because companies will understand that that's what we want. Consumer feedback is all good and nice, but the bottom line is what companies and developers are ultimately attentive to.
This is important because if that function, called price mechanism, doesn't coordinate companies and consumers properly, problems are bound to appear... As they actually are doing, and I don't mean the video game industry alone.
****ty controls, uninstalled.
The game doesn't even appear on my xperia play market, but it appears on the market on my g2 phone. also, is there an official version of duke nukem 3d coming out? cause this isn't made by the actual company.

Your so naive, do you not think this happens in main stream gaming? When you play burnout and see lynx adverts on the roadside, do you not think lynx are paying to advertise there? Or when you play PES/Fifa and see adverts all around the pitch? Tiger woods 10 even had pop up ads

There is a bit of a difference to "Billboard" advertising in games that adds "Authenticity" to the surroundings i.e. Fifa and the sideline banners and the "distracting-take-up-10%-of-your-screen-real-estate-mobile-ads”.
The first example I except, the second only if I haven’t paid for the app.
On another note, I always preferred Quake to Duke Nukem, so my recent purchase of Zeus Arena will keep me content FPS wise until Modern Combat 3 comes to android.

Shady game cheats? Real Racing 3

I'm a casual gamer. Now and again I'll find a game that I like and I'll play for a while until I get bored. I don't mind paying for games but what I hate is games that have in-app purchases which make you spend way more than the game is ever worth to be able to advance.
I'm currently playing Real Racing 3 and what I'm looking for is a "little extra help" to advance without paying out any more than I already have.
Ages ago I used a tool called GameCIH which allowed editing of files to increased money/gold/time etc etc, but it doesn't appear to work on my N5.
A quick search via Google has sent me to all manner of shady sites, offering tools that claim to do what I want, but I don't trust a single one I've visited.
Is there anyone who knows of a good cheat app/engine or can point me in the right direction from first hand knowledge? As I said, I am perfectly capable of using Google, but I don't want to trawl through these sites (which all seem to want you to complete surveys to earn them money, before serving you up a virus-laden download.
Thanks.
Game Guardian works on 4.4. Not sure if it works for Real Racing 3 though. I've only used it to edit the amount temple run 2 coins.
Thanks, I'll check it out and report back

I think what your talking about is similar, but on iPhone, there was a basic cheat device app for jailbreak that allowed you to edit values (kinda like a gameshark or action replay) that I liked to use sometimes in my own single player games (usually do infinite gold in RPG's. not a fan of grinding anymore lol) is there something similar for android, and if so, is there more advanced options than what iPhone offered (which was basic values).
I used I hex editor to allow me to change the values of the coins and money

GG worked nicely!
I posted in this forum rather than one of the higher level Android ones because I wanted advice from someone who is actually using the same device/software version as me, and could make suggestions based on actual knowledge - rather than someone who isn't, and could only make suggestions based on assumptions.
Worked out as I intended, because Epic_VS' suggestion about Game Guardian was exactly right.

Thanks for asking this question; I never would have thought to do this.
I don't mind paying for in-app purchases, but it was much to my dismay to discover that RR3 does NOT have a cloud save, so the cars I had worked up to on my old device were nowhere to be found on my Nexus. There's NO excuse for a game to have IAP yet not allow you to back up your save info.
You've saved me a lot of grinding for free gold!

Hi, can you explain me witch hex editor u used and how to ?
Greetings
Joey
When I first installed RR3 I was given $750M and 550M of the other currency. I don't know how it happened but I'm not complaining. I will never have to spend a dime on the game and I can level up all my cars the moment I unlock them I still suck at it though lol

Lol man call it what you want but that's cheating in my book. I'm not judging, just saying. Good luck on your quest.

Why is this in the N5 forum? It has nothing to do with the N5.
Maybe nexus 5 is fully capable of playing real racing 3?
