No, unless you have CWM installed.
I do have cwm installed

Yes, download a ROM using your phone, use a file manager like astro to then move the ROM to the root of your SD card, then use it to check the md5 check sum to make sure you don't have a corrupt download, then flash as you would normaly throught CWM.....that's it.
Remember to do a backup of your current ROM first...

tats wat i like about android over iphone
with custom recovery, root explorer or any other file explorer, u can flash any rom on the go w/o the aid of a pc.
what i do is install astro explorer - having the option to check md5sum
download any rom from anywhere...
after finish download, use astro n move the rom.zip to root of sd card, boot into recovery n flash it
I must add : make sure the rom can be flash with cwm, if not you could semi-brick your phone. But custom roms are usually made for cwm flashing. Only official rom can't be flashed via cwm they are usually in .exe file, but you can also find them in zip file sometimes and you must extract it before flashing via pc.
How do you install the offical .exe roms then? And how do I check md 5 sum?

Just follow the directions when you open the .exe
Warning though - you'll lose S-OFF and CWM
google for md5 checker

I flashed the stock wwe eur ruu and it left my phone s-off, even though it flashed the h-boot. It did put the recovery back to stock though and lost root, which can easily be sorted.

The only thing that is the ROM sizes are over 300mb and I hit the tmobile 5gb cap so many times downloading on my phones data so I need to use WiFi more... But with the nexus one most roms were under 80 mb so it wasn't a problem . But its still cool you can switch roms on the fly

That why I love my unlimted data on my plan

Official rom (RUU) are only b able to flash via pc unless u extract the upsate.zip n put it in ur root of ur sdcard.. well of coz extracting n moving it needs the pc too...
As for md5sum, astro manager does the trick.. press n hold on the zip file n press "properties" u will c all the details of the file include date time n of coz the md5sum. Do give it some time to load up the details though.
I saw a thread somewhr tat theres a md5checksum app in the market.. u might wanna check it out too..

What's some of the easiest ways to directly download downloads to my sensation and but them on my sd card.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Are you talking about roms or applications ? Or which kinds of downloads? For roms sometimes i directly download other times I use computer and download to the device. It depends on which way you prefer.

I'm talking about roms, kernels, apps.and I want to download them directly to my sensation 4G.

I downloaded 3 different kernels directly to my phone and Google apps.I can't find the 3 kernels anywhere.I found the Google apps they ended up on my downloads.how can I get the google apps to the root of my sd card?I looked in my es file explorer and I can't find the 3 kernels in there either.

Ok the easiest thing to do is install them to your computer. Then just copy them over to your phone via usb but make sure you don't put any of the files in any folders so that they are easier to find
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
I agree with above statement! I like to install from computer, much faster! Also the download goes directly to root of ad card! Makes it easy to find! I use my device as disk drive E, then install to "removable disk drive E" makes it really simple. Also downloads are much much faster than directly downloading to device. Hope this helps!

Other option is to connect to WiFi and then download whatever file you want to download. It should be the same speed as in computer, but with the benefit you don't have to plug and unplugged your phone to the computer.

my htc sensation is running on android 4.0 hboot 1.27 !
i accidentally format my sd and i cant get back my htc running is at the tmobile logo somebody help me ?
Unfortunately I do believe that nandroid backups are kept in the cwm folder on your sdcard. If you formatted the card I am almost positive they are lost.

i lost it! buddy :crying:
Now you could always reflash your rom if you have the files on your computer and the computer had a card reader.
