I didn't see a clemsyn kernel for 3.2... just the ROM he has. I like Prime and I've heard too many issues with the clemsyn rom so I was wondering if there was an OC kernel out for Prime 1.7.
Thanks
Clemsyn has a 3.2 kernel (use version 1) his version 2 - 4 is for stock rooted or clemsyn rom only

Question for you if you've used Clemsyn's version 1 kernel.
Is it 'pre-overclocked' , or what I'm trying to ask, is does this kernel only boot at >1Ghz? Can it be booted at a stock speed, so I can figure out what my particular TF will do speedwise (with say, setCPU) without having to do a recovery right off?
Thanks --

Hi guys,
Im on a rooted 3.1 in UK with regular 3.1 update from Motorola.
I am just looking for a Kernel n not a rom hence dont prefer the Hammerhead rom
Will Launchpad 1.3.0 kernel work for me?
many thanks
If its not a 3g model then it would work. Make sure you grab the appropriate kernel for HC 3.1

thanks for your reply fella,
it is the 3g version (MZ601)
Any kernel suggestion for this model??
cheers
I have used Tiamat Kernel, the older 1.4.4 works fine with 3.1 EU ROM. Have this running a few hours and no problems yet. Can also mount my USB stick and external HDD, works fine so far.
If im not mistaking there's a 2.x tiamat kernel for 3.1 as well.
I have a 3g xoom euro as well. Its running 3.2 though.

cheers mate, i downloaded the Tiamat 1.4.4 1.7Ghz w/ ocGPU n it works well
Im extremely frustrated...Ive been trying to OC my Tf101 for days now w/ no success. Ive tried several ROMs + kernel(s) and now Ive tried FROZN 1.0.9 because I heard they do GREAT work and the ROM is supposed to include a Guevor Kernel allowing OC, I think to 1.7.
I rooted w/ ViperMOD Prime (latest ver)
I installed CWM (5.5.0.4 I think, latest ver)
I flashed:
[ROM] FROZN 1.0.9 █Apr. 2 2012█ 9.2.2.3 █ ICS for TF █Super-Optimized█ Guevor Kernel
...but when I use the included NoFrills CPU app it will only allow me to clock to 1.000?
What am I possibly missing or not understanding? Is the a Tf101 that is simply NOT capable of OC?
ANY ideas would greatly be appreciated...I am sooo anxious to OC because everyone seems to be doing so with great success.
Thanks all.

The kernel included with frozn only goes to 1.2ghz and the default clock is 1ghz
Ics testy meh sio init.d kernel goes to 1.6 i would try that one
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium HD app
ok mate...that one sounds a bit better to me for the final number, however I cant get mine to clock past 1.000 at all. Ive tried ROMs + kernel(s) and Ive tried ROMs w/ kernel included, install goes fine but when I try to OC w/ CPU app, it only goes to 1.000.
I thought I was reading someone else w/ this problem and the issue revolved around a botched recovery flash or something?...but I cant seem to find that thread again. I did try to unsuccessfully flash back to stock ASUS recovery a while back, didnt work (CWM was still present afterwards). Wonder if that is creating an issue of some kind?...although I am struggling to imagine what one would have to do w/ the other.
Thanks for the reply mate...Im willing t listen to ANY ideas at this point!
"The kernel included with frozn only goes to 1.2ghz and the default clock is 1ghz"
BTW...wanted to check on the FROZN OC kernel abilities...the latest FROZN ver sets CPU default at 1.2 and allows OC to 1.7. But anyhow, only allowed me 1.000 default and no OC.
Yeah I'm on frozen oc'd at 1.4. Your issue is weird I've never heard of that before. What happens if you select anything higher than 1.0, do you get an error or anything?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I dont even get the option to go higher than 1.000.
UPDATE: apparently this inability to OC the kernel in any way is happening to those of us experiencing the CWM bootloop issue...so since the loader goes immediately to CWM it never runs the flashed kernel.
So in these forums is a thread to fix the CWM bootloop and if you follow the instructions carefully, you fix the bootloop and thus allowing the flashed kernels a chance to actually install. I chose the Roach method which you can install the code using Terminal Emulator pretty intuitively. I didnt choose the other method because I didnt want to mess w/ setting up an ADB terminal on my PC, which seemed MUCH more difficult.
So...now FINALLY
ViperMOD Prime rooted
ClockworkMOD Touch Recovery 5.8.8
FROZN 1.0.9 ROM (w/ built-in Guevor kernel @ 1.2 default) and am OCd @ 1.54 (np's at all so far, lightning fast, havent even tried 1.6 or 1.7).
Only issue so far is File Manager app crashes on startup...which isnt good because now the other file manager app I tried doesnt see my ext_SDcard...the stock File Manager did.

Overclock up to 1.6 - 1.7ghz
I just share with u how i overclock my tf101 upto 1.7ghz with stock rom....ALL ASUS APPS IS WORKING
- i root my device with ViperMod prime v5.4 (choose option 1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427125
- then, install rom manager from android market (to flash clockworkmod recovery). i am using standard recovery, not the touch recovery...u all can try if u want.for me its doesn't matter.
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
-lastly, i flash the kernel 9b(by using clockworkmod recovery)...u can get the latest kernel from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565519
- currently, i can overclock my tf101 up to 1.7ghz with beloved stock rom..
- antutu benchmark 76++....
hopefully its helpful......enjoy your enthusiant tf101 speed...
I cant talk from experience, but Ive read at several places that ROM manager is NOT recommended to use.
How, when or why I do not know. Theres another app thats recommended for the TF, simply called "recovery installer". Its listed in the epic noob guide.
As I said, Ive only read that rommanager isnt recommended for the tf.

Ummm
Clemsyn's kernel here with the 1.8 oc
I haven't dabbled with voltages.
I'm using System Tuner Pro to push the CPU to max.
I just did a stress test under the kernel with no tweaks set.
No overheat and it didn't reboot until system load hit 3.92
I'll call that good for now.

How would I go about using Clemsyn's kernel with CleanROM 2.3? Are there any risks with combining something like Clemsyn's kernel with a custom ROM?
I didn't really want to ask in the development thread because I didn't think it was for question and answers.
Clemsyn and CleanROM work perfectly together. Check out the dev thread for either, and look at the results...

Joe,
If you have flashed CleanROM 2.3 it's important to be on the JellyBean boot-loader.
If you are still on ICS upgrade to JB. (I won't go into rooting, saving root, custom recovery...blah blah)
Once you have Scotts CleanROM flashed and working.
Simply flash Clemsyn's kernel from a custom recovery.
I will say the risk is less than moderate.
I have had a good experience to this point in time.

*Trying to stay simple here so I won't post links and other confusion.
I'm kind of a dummy or "newbster" if you will myself.
Once I got unlocked I was committed to either bricking or learning how to do this.
I made the mistake of installing Scotts ROM then flashed Clemsyn's over an ICS downgrade.
Dismal results there...so I just started from scratch...learned about flashing thru ADB from my windows PC.
I recommend getting to know the ADB (android development bridge) commands.
ADB is just a command prompt...like a DOS window that speaks to Android on a device.
It's certainly possible to crap the tab using it, yet it's an invaluable tool for flashing.
Used hiemanshu's method to gain root after flashing JellyBean .18.
Worked very well once the procedure clicked in my head.
Tons of help here at the development paradise known as XDA...

If you have CleanROM installed.
Simply flash the kernel.
It works in addition to CleanROM.
Clemsyn's is added to Scotts ROM.

Ok. Awesome! Thanks. If it causes problems for my device, does TWRP allow me to unflash (if that is even a thing)?
Sent from my HTC Rezound
I built a flashable zip with the clean ROM stock kernel. I'll send you a copy of you need it, and you can flash it just like you do with Clemsyn's kernel. I doubt you'll need it...
As noted above, you want to be on the JB (10.x) bootloader. Nothing to do with losing root, saving root, accessing recovery, and all that crap, but there's a restriction on the 9.x bootloader that restricts increased voltages, and this restricts the higher clock speeds associated with the increased voltage...
Personally I would make a backup of the tablet without the Kernal just in case then flash the kernal and if for some reason it doesnt work or you dont like it then you can go back to the recovery.
Don't forget to do a backup in TWRP before each step.
I have been renaming my backups ie; B4CL22, B4CL23, B4Clems22 and so on...you get the idea.
I can keep them straight that way.
Backups are very important as I now know.

AFAIK only tegrak works for over clocking (not 100% sure) but I can say of course jellybam's kernel is the only one which support its app as its by the same author...even not all kernels work on jellybam!
Use original kernel or a different OC application
