[Q]stock music player no settings - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just realized my stock music player had no settings. After google the same problem, I noticed that it is probably because my associated google account had no google music beta account yet. then I got an invitation and sign this account with google music. then follow another post, go to system settings to clear data for music app, go back to the music app, setting appears. I check the my google account, it started to sync the music.
on my pc side, i was uploading my music to google music. so on my TF, it just showed some of the uploaded music. I let this uploading process run overnight. This morning I found uploading is finished. But my TF is frozen at what it had last night. it didn't refresh the list even i click refresh. I went to system setting, clear music app data, go back to music app again, now it is back to original status -- no music and no settings menu in the music app again. Does anyone know what is going on? Previously I installed google music beta from market and it seems this app is just the stock music app (no separate icon)

figured out myself. Need to clear cache under app and kill all running music process

Google Music (beta) oddness

I'm a participant in Google Music (beta). I gotta say that I love it. Not having all that music on my devices is wonderful.
However, here's an oddity that I can't seem to fix or explain.
I ripped a CD to my collection on my PC on Friday. Saturday when I went to play that album on my Galaxy Tab it was there and played fine. Perfect.
Then, yesterday, I went to play this same album using Google Music (beta) on my Thunderbolt. It wasn't there. I couldn't find it in Artists, Albums or with search. Gone. I went back to look at my Tab and, yes, it's still on there.
So, the question is: Why doesn't my Thunderbolt have the new album? Is there a way to refresh Google Music?
Should I uninstall and reinstall Google Music?
Both the Tab and the Thunderbolt are running version v3.0.1.339
Settings, Accounts and Sync, Google, make sure Sync Music is checked.
You can press the Sync Now button there.
Make sure in Google Music player you have not checked "Offline Only" in Library options.

Click to collapse
Sync Music was checked.
I did the Sync Now anyway.
"Offline Only" not selected.
No change.
It couldnt hurt to re-install the app.
It appears to be a combination of a bug in Google Music and a mistake on my part.
First, the bug in Google Music. It turns out that the songs didn't appear anywhere but the Tab. I couldn't find them in Google Music on my PC or any Android device except the Galaxy Tab (more on that later.) I looked at the Music Manager on my PC and it was stuck trying to upload the songs for this newly added album. They were stuck at 0% uploaded.
I'm in a conversation with the Google Music folks now trying to figure out why those songs won't upload. My next step is to send them a log and a database file.
Why do the songs appear on my Galaxy Tab? Well, that's my mistake. They are physically loaded on the tab. I had been experimenting copying files from my network shares using a network app and those were the files I copied. Google Music found them and included them in my list of music.

[Q] Google Play "Music" will not play existing mp3 files following upgrade to 4.0.4

[Q] Google Play "Music" will not play existing mp3 files following upgrade to 4.0.4
Hello,
It says "Couldn't play the track you requested" and just cycles through all the other files in the playlist/album but when played by clicking the on the file directly via File Explorer, it plays.
I have not encountered this issue before with prior versions (Honeycomb, Gingerbread or Froyo).
What could be wrogn?
Had this same issue.
Went to settings/app and cleared data for the music app.
Re-loaded the app. Selected my google account. Then everything worked perfectly.
Hey!
I keep having the same problem... even with third party apps like Music Player Pro...
So, a noob question, but what exactly do you mean by "selected my google account"?
Thanks for your reply!
What i mean is when you load the google play music app. Go to settings and connect to your google account to re-sync it.
This is only required if you cleared data to this app.

Went from Gingerbread to ICS now Play Music library won't show up

I just went from a custom Gingerbread rom to a custom ICS rom and now when I open Play Music it only shows my music that I have on my device. The 9,000+ songs I have in my Play Music library don't show up at all. I have it connected to my account and if I go into settings a choose Refresh music from Google Play nothing happens. Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions?
Figured it out. Had to go into account sync settings and enable music to sync.
Good job.
Please add the word "Solved" to your post title.
Thanks!!

Google Play Music Android app

This is so annoying and hope someone can help me.
My Google play music I choose every track that I thumbs up becomes offline, until here all fine, the problem is when I clear the thumbs up on the track they disappear from my playlist but after less than a minute Google music start to download them again.
Does anyone know how to remove it for sure?
All this using the google play music app on android, not on browser.

WTF? Google Play Music app is not working for me!!!

WTF? I am getting this "music playback error couldn't play the track you request" by google music play!!!! These mp3 play fine with poweramp and n7player.... wtf? I cleared all data and update google musc play and start and still doesn't work.
F**k google. I can tell everyone for one thing. Yes, samsung s4 may have more apps installed but at least a lot of them work right out of the box. The default music player app on s4 actually has folder browsing and screenlock. May not be as fancy as poweramp but everything just works.... I got the n5 for my sister. I hate to give her a defective product and i hope i can get all the softwares work for her by xmas, but i am so glad I am keeping the s4.
Help!!!!
So following a hunch, i deleted all the mp3 in my music folder and restart music play after clearing all data and cache and it still lists all those files. how do i clear all of this?
So i had to delete all 900MB of mp3 on my n5, completely disabled google music player app which uninstalled all its updates. Recopied all music back and renable the app download update.and now it's working again. what a fn pain all in the while these mp3 were fine with other apps. At least now google music play would play nice with the dialer and pause music and resume after phone calls...arhhhhghh... it sucks i can't add files to playlist by folder views..... what a waste of resource to scan all files and try to organize by artists, etc.... as well as waste of space keeping albums displayed with thumbnails...
