From P3 link to Droid world
"This is an even newer build of Gingerbread for the Droid Charge.
Known issues:
A small number of phones experience streaming audio cut-out when a headphone or jack is plugged into the headset jack.
Release notes: This is unofficial and a leak. Teamblackhat, Mydroidworld, and myself are not responsible for what you do to your phone. Installing this firmware will void your warranty and may cause harm to your device.
If you for some reason need to downgrade your firmware you will need to use the file from below to put your phone on an older firmware version. After you have put your phone on the below firmware version you will need to take several OTA updates to get back to the current firmware version."
This are the EP1Q Leaks,I have just downloaded have not flashed please refer to the thread EP1Q Issues, because there are issues with it. Remember to handle with care. Boot-loop abound…or worse

Files you'll need:
Factory ed1
Factory ep1h
Factory ep1q (non special)
Factory pit file
Step 1: open odin, i use version 1.82. Plug up your phone with battery out and put it in download mode. Now odin should detect your phone. reinsert your battery, may not be needed, but I like to be safe. Now in the options area, this is under the id:com area, uncheck auto reboot and check re-partition. Now click on the tab with pit and select the correct pit file for the charge. This can be found in the droid charge development area. once that's selected you need to select the correct odin image. Click on PDA and find where you've downloaded the stock ED1 image and select it. Again, all of these files can be found in the dev section. Now click start and wait for odin to complete the flashing process. takes approximately 4-7mins.
Step 2 and 3: reset odin and disconnect your phone and reconnect your phone in download mode. For steps 2 and 3. all you'll need to do is uncheck auto reboot and select the correct image file( ep1h for step 2 and then ep1q for step 3). If you wanna be extra cautious, re-insert your battery before you click start. Also, I don't typical flash images through odin with my 4g sim card installed. No idea if it really matters, but I've "heard" of issues and don't want to chance it.
Once you've made it this far. unplug your phone and pull the battery and re-insert it. power up your phone and wait for the sammy logo. You should see the phone wipe a couple of files and then reboot to the samsung logo again. Then you should see the boot animation.
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if your bork your phone up. Just tryin to lend a hand. Please please make sure you're comfortable with flashing odin and whatnot. This can and will make your phone a $650 paper weight if you're not careful. Hope this helps.

I havent done any flashing just downloaded read the EP1Q Issues thread link above for any info. I waiting for Humble 2.3 to do any flashing.
I've been running the fully bloated version since yesterday evening. Only real issue I'm having is my data connection coming back up after the phone goes to sleep. I did do a small amount of de-bloating myself. So, I wouldn't think that would affect it, but anytime I let my phone go to sleep the data doesn't seem to want to reconnect after I wake the phone. I can toggle data from the notification area off then back on and it seems to reconnect. I'm using the mobile hotspot for my laptop and as long as I keep a steady connection I don't seem to have any issues. It's only when I let the phone sit for a little while. I'm gonna reflash the stock ep1q file to see if it was just a bad flash. I'll post back up shortly.

What are you talking about?? P3droid is a cool guy. I don't understand why there is so much hate for this guy. P3droid is the man when it comes to Moto leaks and SBF files, and he has been nothing but stand up guy for the Sumsung community also. I don't see anyone else coming out with leaks for the charge.

You guys probably don't know this but guys like imnuts already had this leak at the same time P3Droid did. P3Droid just shares his leaks at the cost of his app, then releases for free after some time. There was a huge debate over whether it is right or wrong to "sell" a leak. I side with choosing that it is completely wrong to sell something that is not your work, that you just received from a Verizon tester. All P3Droid does is make Odins of test builds sent to phone testers for the phone. Anyone could do that. He has gotten better by shortening his free release time period but I still fully believe that it shouldn't be sold in the first place. Open source is free and those who respect it want to keep it that way. He also stole some things from imnuts when he released the first Gingerbread leak not too long ago.

to all who wishes to debate with this guy in defense of me, you are wrong and it is pointless.
All of those devs, Kejar, Danalo and yes even Imnuts got the file from TBH. He doesn't have his facts and speaks out the side of his ass. He is entitled to his opinion but if he truely felt so strongly he would not use anything that was released by TBH. Since he does then I take his complaints as mere *****ing by a petulant child.
From our (TBH) perspective it is a disservice to the community and those who enjoy seeing what is coming next, and in many cases improving the performance of their phone, that people like this poster continue to engage in this childish, immature, behavior.
So please enjoy what TBH does, because it will not be around forever. Eventually we will tire of this and move on to something else because of people like this.
I think we should just let this go and move on. Let's just enjoy our GB leak!

Where the heck did that come from? This whole thing was put to rest weeks ago. I am just saying what I believe. And honestly I couldn't care less if you guys stopped giving us leaks. Especially after EP1Q, what a garbage piece of crap that turned out to be. The puzzle lock doesn't work correctly, the Settings.apk is corrupt, and I'm sure there is a number of other problems. EP1H was more stable.

Well Krylon I've done it several times and it works. If you actually had this phone you could try it yourself. While I can't write a custom recovery, I do have some experience with android and don't mind using unorthodox methods if it benefits my phone as much as it did.
BTW, what's with all the negative nay-saying?

its not naysaying, but the first person people hit up is krylon when they brick their phones, and he's just trying to limit that until they come up with a SURE FIRE way to do it. Dont take it as an insult
I wouldn't have posted it unless I thoroughly tested it on my own phone. My only thing is don't come in criticizing people who are trying if you've been gone for 2 weeks while everyone else has been trying to figure this out. It may not be the way Krylon would do it, but it works. And if for some reason it doesn't for you, by all means, flash back to stock. The risk is worth the reward.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
perhaps if you would read my tweets, you would see why I was gone for 2 weeks.
As far as being negative, I'm not. I'm saying this isn't a good idea due to the fact you are deleting proprietary system files/drivers that are currently in use, which results in a hardware failure. This poses a risk of burning/frying the hardware or causing the drivers you are copying back over to become corrupt.
Here is an easier/safer way to do this.
Download MagicISO, Download my Tar (which I think you already have), and download the deodexed rom.
Extract the tar
Open MagicISO
within magic, open factoryfs.rfs (you will need to change the drop down to look for all files)
This opens /system
delete app and framework dir's
open the deodexed /system
copy over app and framework dir's into magic
close, retar everything you extracted from the original

change filename to what you want the tar to be called.

Hi guys,
Nothing scientific about my theory, but I dont think we will see an update until after the sensation comes out. T-Mobile knows there are a great number of people annoyed with the bugs the G2x has, and some of these people might be willing to jump to the sensation.
If the G2x update came out prior to the sensation release, it might actually hurt sensation sales because G2x satification would rise.
Just a thought, could be totally wrong.

the g2x is tmobiles flagship phone... you really think they are stalling the update on purpose?
i dont see how it would hurt sensation sales anyway, the phones are so different... i didnt want to wait for a sensation because of many other reasons...
The GB update comes out in the summer, which isn't here yet (6/21).
The sensation is out before so your theory is "true" one way or another.
Wait... what?
T-Mobile already made their money for the people who bought the G2x. A lot of people who will jump ship will still be within they're return period in which case Tmo doesnt make any more money off that same person buying the sensation.
Of course there are those who will jump ship outside of their return period, selling their G2x themselves. In that case tmo does make a little extra cash but I doubt their counting on that. I dont think the update has anything to do with the pending G2x release.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tmo's real money maker is the monthly plans. They care not about selling this device or that device or delaying this update or that update on purpose.

LOL, I have seen this play out several times on the Nexus One Forum.
1. After several days of people posting about checking and several faults alarms.
2. Someone will actually get the up-date and not know enough to do a logcat.
3. More reports and claims of faults alarms, then screen shots will start.
4. Finally someone will actually post a link to the update.zip
5. Then a bunch of Noobs jump the gun, flash update, and loose root and custom recovery.
6. After a couple of hours someone competent will create a rooted, deodext Rom that can be flashed from recovery without bloat and everyone can be happy
Patience is key

rofl. I love it.
To me, it can make sense to wait or to just release it. They obviously have a brand new phone that needs an update. That is hurting them, money wise, more then just releasing the update.
Although you may have people hold out for the Sensation. Either way you have some people who have a G2x now, looking to buy a G2x or Sensation, and some who got pissed, sold the phone, and moved to Verizon.
I always believe to fix the problem as soon as possible. The longer it goes on the deeper the cuts.
My G2x is fantastic though on CM7. So while I may benefit from the update indirectly, I'm not sitting by watching the clock for it.

What ads? I dont see them
(I have the adservers added in my hosts file, it's far easier than complaining). I would normally show the ads for sites I support, but when they get to be too much, I can't deal with it. I had to sadly do same thing when Stack Overflow a while ago when they wouldn't do anything about the obviously targeted and over saturated Microsoft ads they had everywhere. It was so bad you could search for "gnu linux opensource" and it would still bomb you with microsoft bs.
Sometime after November 2012, I'll unblock them again . I would post the adserver names, but the powers that be might not like that. However, it's not hard to right click -> view source and find things.
I don't think xda controls their own adservers and thus, does not control the ad content (google/doubleclick ads and maybe some other, cant remember). That's slightly different than stack overflow, where they did control it, so one could say xda is slightly less at fault.

It's a gradual rollout, not everyone gets it at the same time. And if she thinks the Tbolt is a POS, maybe she should exchange it for an iphone or blackberry. Or you could root it for her and slap a custom rom & kernel on it, and you wouldn't hear her ***** & moan about it anymore

Or you could quit waiting on verizon and just put the signed OTA from verizon on yourself. It would take like a few minutes of finding the post in the developers forum and then a few more to flash it in the bootloader.
Being on xda and waiting for an ota from verizon when the same signed ota that would work for non rooted phones is on here = sad panda
there's no way a hour's worth of reading (if you really cant figure it out) is worse than hearing her complain
I offered to root it for her, but she didn't want me to. To each their own lol. Well, tbh, the 5-6 reboots per day, plus the extreme lagginess at times just really make her mad seeing as how she paid $250 for it and its her first android phone. I can understand her anger at it, especially since whenever we talk to Verizon they just throw up their hands and say they can't do anything about, thanks for your 250 bucks.

I dont think you understood what I meant. You dont have to root her phone to give her the latest OTA update.

The full RUU for upcoming Thunderbolt OTA update has been released thanks to Jcase/TeamAndIRC and Android Police. This is a Froyo release, hopefully the last one. This is for non-rooted users and will wipe all of your data. It is highly recommended that you do not flash over a rooted phone. Hold out for Jcase to release the rooted version soon. I have it available to download off my http server below and you can see the original sources below. Didn't see anyone start a thread for this yet.

technically you didnt have to root do get the fancy bootscreen the OP is talking about in advance. The OTA leak for unrooted users was out over a week or so ago at least as well (longer if you count the MR2 leaks that were canned).

I was referring to admiralspark's comment about his DAS BAMF bootscreen. The quote function didn't work on my phone's forum app.
Post if you have gotten the gb 2.3.4 OTA yet... If you did please post a screen shot of the about phone .
Mods if you feel this needs to be close or deleted go right ahead.

Do you have some source suggesting anyone should be seeing it soon?
*Edit* I see posts of people saying that other people are saying they are getting the OTA, but nobody who actually says they got it themselves haha
Yeah that is what i read too . That is why i started this thread so that we can see who has it and to actually show us an actually screen shot of it on their phone.

First I've heard of people claiming to have it. Guess we'll see...certainly would be nice, seems like it should help the devs having it out officially.

I honestly didn't think official GB would be coming so soon :] Ohhh my beloved Charge, you just keep getting better.

I haven't seen anyone saying they've gotten the OTA update. EP1W seems stable enough to release, though. I think the current issues a few people are having are isolated to their location (constant tower switching draining battery) or the TW4 implementation in the debloated leak.

won't work if you're rooted and running a custom rom.. only way an OTA update will go through is if you're stock

You can check for, and potentially even download an OTA update when on a custom ROM, however, you won't be able to actually apply it. It checks literally every file to make sure it hasn't been modified, and if any file is missing or changed, it will fail to update.
As of right now,09/06/11 1:46PM Eastern in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with a last name starting in "S," I have NOT gotten the update. I know sometimes it rolls by area, sometimes it rolls by last name (like Sprint) - if it is coming today, it hasn't come to me yet. Obviously you guys will be first to know if/when it does.
I'm 100% stock, not even rooted. Just FYI.
I don't think any OTA will be rolling out until the end of the month at the earliest.
I think Verizon typically updates their device support page before rolling out OTA updates:
http://support.vzw.com/system_update/charge.html
http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/droid_charge_instructions.pdf
http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/droid_charge.pdf
Nothing new there so I'm guessing they haven't started rolling out GB anywhere.
Guess the people who say they've gotten it are lying. Not believing its released yet until I see screenshots. And yeah, even though the rom itself is done, they still have to finalize it and make sure it's ready for OTA, not just flashing through PST, train their staff, etc etc. But WE have it

THIS!
The leak was labeled as "official" so maybe that is where people are saying they have he official one.
I think we will see the OTA's before the end of the month unless p3droid has another leak in their hands (this last one was a month old)
Nothing here in good old NH yet
So what real proof do we have that this EP1W is even the final release?

My thought is that this is not the release that Verizon will be rolling out. The "official" designation is something that the dev guys put on it, saying its their official release.
There are some strange things in the UI that make me think this isn't an RC. Also, the timing of it is odd, since the devs have had it in their possession for so long.

Let me correct you both,
I do not label things, if it is labled as official and OTA by samsung, then I will state it is official. If that changes over time I will state that as well. You assumption that I just randomly give titles to this is very incorrect.
As to your second point, we always have things in our possesion long before releasing to the general public. That is not an indicator of squat.
P3Droid has EP3 Released on the TeamBlackHat app! I'm downloading now! I hope it goes well!

You have to pay to download the app from the Team Black Hat website. New leaks from TBH are exclusive to paid supporters through the app for about 48 hours before general release.
or somebody with the app can dl then upload it here tonight its a official leak and p3 didnt create it. so he really has no rights to it thous making it suitable for anybody to re-upload.....just saying. why wait?
i really hate that it's no longer on the marketplace. bought the app way back on my droid x, and now that my credit card got cancelled i'm always out of luck on new releases. :l
I'm thinking of trying this out tonight.

To anyone that installed EP3:
Does EP3 have new radios? The EP1W has better signals, but I get that "data dropping" issue that people have been complaining about since this phone was released. I never got that on the EE4 radio.
Everyone hold your horses. Imnuts has a copy that came from another source and he tweeted if you wait until tomorrow he will have infinityrom with the ep3 base. Much worth the wait instead of getting it stock.

no actually i don't see anything wrong with this statement. but I am a bit surprised you do. So you are saying you see nothing wrong with somebody profiting from somebody else work that in reality its work they stole? we can call it a "leak" but none of us actually own it. We didn't create it. So by taking it, we stole it. No different then dl a "leak" movie work print. except p3 is charging for ppl to dl it a little early. Personally i think its a despicable practice but that's my 2 cents.
Look at it this way. Devs pass out custom roms that they work very hard to give us. They often pass them around irc for testing purposes. So lets say Imnuts or team gummy gives you a copy of their newest rom for you to test. You in return upload it to another server and charge ppl to dl early befor they release it. P3 is doing the same exact thing. You see nothing wrong with that?
Man these things come out fast. I'm just gonna stay on my Gummy 2.0 until the Nexus Prime is released and get rid of this phone.

Yep, we had this argument with most of the Charge users a few months back and it was like 60% in favor of it being bull$hit that P3 profits from stolen leaks. I personally don't agree with his tactics but we already had this huge discussion which ended pretty badly and abruptly. He got the favor in the end because he threatened everyone that he would stop giving us these leaks.
don't get me wrong I'm not saying P3 right or wrong....just saying too wrongs don't make it right...that's my point....
I just hope that nobody here is stupid enough to buy the app simply for early access to this leak. Aside from providing a leak a few hours earlier than the general public, the app is abso-****ing-lutely useless. Its an app that you buy solely for the purpose of obtaining the latest software for your phone? As the site says, the software provided is "sometimes leaked." So thats basically saying that they'll give you what you get from buying your phone or after receiving ota updates anyway, for a small fee of 2.99. And after looking at the site, its clear that team blackhat is just after a few bucks, and instead of making that money like most good devs do (by producing roms/mods/kernels/apps, and relying on donations made to support their work, or by selling useful apps on an app market), they try to dupe you out of a few bucks by offering you what you already have access to simply by coming here or going to other popular android forums. Or they'll unlock your droid pro or droid 2 global for 100 dollars, and for an extra 25 bucks, they'll even provide the shipping! Wow!
Don't buy the app for this leak. Wait a few hours and get it for free. Or wait a few hours more, and get a custom rom all tweaked up and debloated for free.
Is EP3 the 2.3.5 leak?
