Good Quality Headphones With Working Remote? - HTC Sensation

Does anyone have any suggestions for some good quality headphones that have a remote that will actually work with the Sensation?
If no one knows of any with a working remote i'd also like some suggestions for good quality headphones that are affordable.

I use my old Samsung epic 4G in ear earphones which have the remote for answer and mute but that's about it, no volume rocker. They have a nice bass boost I might add.

I always chime in on these kinds of threads with my personal favorite: Zagg Smartbuds.
Been using them since I got my Nexus One, and they sound great. The single button works just fine for play/pause, and most music apps I've come across (like PowerAMP on my phone) support double- and triple-clicks for FF and RW functions just fine with these earbuds.
There's a mechanical slider for volume control which isn't totally ideal, but is probably the only way to do volume with headphones technically designed for the iPhone.
They shouldn't cost too much either. Like $60 or something?

V-Moda revamp. Period.

Anyone have any affordable suggestions?
I don't exactly want to spend $100+ on heaphones

With all the experience i got in life, i can tell: Quality has a price.
In other words, cheap price usually don't have quality.

The headphones that came with my Nexus One work great. The controls work perfectly and I've always felt the sound quality was great. (Although, I'm not a expert in audio quality.)
Works perfectly for me when I go to the gym.

Fair enough. I was looking at some Beats by Dr Dre, but i might wait a few weeks before i actually decide to buy some.

Grab a pair of Ultimate Ears Super-Fi 5vi on eBay for about $50~80
They are basically the same as the Ultimate Ears 600vi, which is selling for about $100-120. The 5vi has a single button that works with the Sensation. UE discontinued it a while ago and replaced it with the 600vi, which is basically the same but with iPhone style 3-button design. The extra two buttons won't work with the Sensation anyway, so you may just grab the old version, the 5vi, for much lower price.

Maybe HTC will give out headphones to people who have bought one of their phones?

I'm one who listens to continuous music for hours at a time, so the remotes just get in the way for me. I generally don't buy them with the remotes because they either don't work / are more expensive than remote-less models/ both.
As far as earbuds go, I've had several in the sub-$100 range, and bang-for-your-buck I haven't found anything to beat my Sennheiser CX300's. For only 30 dollars they're on par with my nicer Shure earbuds, but much less expensive. They're also very compact and easy to tuck anywhere. I highly recommend them if you're on a budget but want good sound, just make sure you use the right set of ear pieces (it comes with 3 sizes) to get the right bass transfer. You'll know when it's right because it will sound great.

I have in-ear a-JAYS Four earphones. I love the cristal clear sound quality. The flat cable is a real day to day pleasure, no more annoying tangled cables as they say. What really sucks is that they're made for apple devices , so only one of three's remote controller buttons works on android . It seems there's no way to make the two other buttons to work on android devices

$10 headphones+ $5 optional controller
Now I've been using these for 6 years and they're amazing, I just rebought them because they died today. Look for "she 9550" on amazon, they have AMAZING bass. And then look for a controller, they intercept the mp3 jack and the nub, they're cheap! Just got mine today.

Klipsch "Gaming" earbuds from Amazon. Identical specs to the S4i but with a single button control. Great sound quality and work fine with the Sensation. They also include a nifty splitter so you can use them for your PC. Cost is around $53 or so last time I checked.
Also, Best Buy currently has Woodees Blues on sale for under $40 (used to be $79 or so). I picked up a pair on a whim, and they sound excellent.
Both work fine with the sensation for play/pause and answering/disconnecting calls. I haven't found any that work with ff/rw, etc. besides the stock HTC ones.

Skull Candy 50/50 No Longer Working?
This seems to be the most relevant thread I can find for this question. I have a pair of Skull Candy 50/50 headphones with mic that I had been using on my Nexus one (purchased in the last few weeks... and before I knew I was upgrading my phone). The volume rocker didn't work on the nexus one but the ONE feature (aside from sound quality) that I need from my headset is MUTE. It worked on the Nexus One and it doesn't work on the Sensation 4G.
Has anyone seen this with other headsets? Is there anything I can do besides investing in a new pair (the crappy ones that come with the phone are no good for my purposes unfortunately... I end up on a lot of conference calls in noisy places like airports so I like the sound isolation of the skull candy earbuds with the mute/un-mute on the headset so that I don't have to constantly power on the phone's screen to mute or un-mute the call).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

yup, you got it.. I did that to my hd2 awhile back too so I thought why not my sensation.

I don't know, I've been using the stock Sensation earphones, no major complaints, except that maybe a volume control would be nice on the remote, and they seem somewhat fragile - compared to a free pair I got that came with a friend's HTC Wildfire, only has a single button though.
Another thing I would take into consideration is what the earphones will be used for. For example, for work, I used to take a crappy £2 set of earphones, because they'd often get caught in machinery, or cut, etc.
Does anyone know if it's possible to reassign functions to the buttons on the remote?

In-line music control headphones for Desire

Does such a think exist for the desire? Will it require a different music application? I use the Xperia x8 while cycling so having big music controls is very handy!
Thanks

Iv not seen anything that could let you use that type of earphone sorry...
I have tried two different earphones that have inline controls and found that the play/hold to skip etc button will work but the others such as volume wont. So not sure if skip buttons would work anyway, just to let you know.
The hardware case wouldn't match the stick, I'm afraid, so i won't think it will ever work.
I have a headset that came with my desire that has music controls similar to the one posted above. I'll try attaching a pic of it now. Its an official HTC product.

HTC provides us by the good headphones, i have this one
Lookin for an In-ear headset with remote for my Desire S
Sure we got a headset from HTC which came with the phone, and while the remote controller on the headset is great, the earphones themself are unconfortable and their sound quality is just not well enough.
Thats why im hunting on the internet for some propper headset with a remote, which can controll the music player on my Desire S.
Sadly, I didn't find it so far...
I'd really appreciate if someone could suggest me a Brand, who makes compatible In-Ear style earphones for HTC phones.
think this will give you what you want
Have been using these with a set of senheiser headphones, Works great.

you can buy the apple in ear phones if you dont mind wearing this trendy piece of sh**! I dont think it'll work with the stock player, but works with powerAMP and PlayerPro. I use the 'stock-apple-headphones' with the controll (with playerPRO) and I dont see why it shouldnt work with the in ear phones.
Im not allowed to post external links, just google for 'apple in ear headphones'

If you want to get a little creative with a pair of in ear buds. Going to try this this week.
Try some skullcandies. They are excellent sound quality, warranty is awesome (mechanical failure- free replacement, you break them- 50% off next skullcandies)
Some variants of the in ear headphones have in line controls, but they are about the size of the iPod ones, not sure if that's big enough for you...
Or, if you want to risk it... Try splicing the cable =)
I'm not sure if you've sorted this problem, but I just tried looking for the same thing.. HTC here sells in-ear headphones with limited controls (it plays/pauses and double clicks for next, but it is supposed to triple click to reverse.. as if) anyway, they aren't that good, but they do work with HTC gear..
BUT - today I went to a Sony Ericsson store and they had bluetooth headphones with FULL controls.. large like the ones you posted and they worked perfectly on my Desire.. they were expensive though... and I've never road tested them, but in the store, they were amazing.
if you google Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headphones, they come up right away.. there are a couple different models and you can switch the buds as well, which I hadn't realised.. (I never thought to check, but the SE ones sounded good anyway)
Well your headphone has a 3.5mm port but they appear to have an extra part that fits into something. It's hard to explain... erm in the pic to the bottom left so I wouldn't be too sure if they'd work or not. HTC give you free headphones with their phones but frankly They're not very well shaped for inside the ear as they're a complete round shape and are uncomfortable and awkward. I want to find better ones with all the music controls...
I use a pair of these:
klipsch. com/ na-en/ products/ image-s4i-overview
They're designed for the iPhone but they give pretty awesome quality and can be had pretty cheap now they're a bit older.
Pretty much any third party music player app can manipulate the middle button and you can answer calls/use the mic with them too.
I use PowerAmp and a single click on the middle button plays/pauses music, double click goes to the next track and triple click the previous. Unfortunately the volume up/down buttons don't work, but doesn't bother me as I can press the side volume keys on the phone through my jeans

Has anyone tried a set of headphones designed for the iPhone? I am partial to Sennheiser headphones myself and they do a set for that phone that has some similar controls.
Otherwise I will just hack a solution out of the set of headphones supplied with my soon to be purchased Desire S and my current pair of Sennheiser in ears. I am also tempted to make a setup for my HD 465 over the head headphones.

I got last summer zagg smartbuds and since then I have no problem at all.
I use PlayerPro.
The good thing about smartbuds over the other ones is that they have their own volume control (a sliding button) so 1 click for pause, 2 clicks for next, and 3 for previous and also volume control without touching the phone.

Best Headsets/Earphone/Headphone for SGS database- (By Price)

Hi guys,
Got my SGS last week and imediately go tinto Darky's 9.5 and Oh Boy! what a fun device it has become!
But I am not able to use the poswer of VOODOO because of pathetic stock earphones.
I wanted to know what all you guys are using. I have tried Sennheiser c300 from a friend it was amazing. I have been going through forums but getting diverse views on compatibility for earphones like 'Kilpsch Image S4', 'Etymotic MC-3' about compatibility.
Can we build a database of compatible headphones/earphones to unleash the beast called Voodoo. Please name only those earphones/headphones that you can guarantee works for SGS:
< $50
$50-$100
$100-$200
>$200
It will help all users wanting to get a new earphone.

To use a headset designed for the iPod on your SGS you need an adapter that swaps the connections from the second ring and the sleeve in the TRRS (tip, ring1, ring2, sleeve) plug configuration. I got one from kvconnection called the "iPhone headset to other cellphone headset jack adapter." It's a bit pricey, but well made. I'm sure you can find cheaper ones.
With this adapter, I don't have to hold down the remote button to hear the music properly on my Klipsch Image One and the play/pause button works, unfortunately the volume buttons still don't work.

These are some quality headphones that are working fine on SGS (including the microphone) and the best advantage is that you can use your favorite set of headphones with them because of that 3.5mm standard stereo jack they have in the microphone housing.

Works with Iphone, not Nokia/Galaxy S plug. Also buttons will never work. Read supercurio's thread for this.
if you want high bass headphones with a better soundbase, get the MDR-XB700's instead. No batteries needed and very deep and clear bass. MDR-XB500 are good alternative under 50E. Note that these headphones dont have support for mic so might be a bit off topic...
If you want something really cheap with good bass and clarity, JVC Marshmallow can be found under 10$.
Of course they are lacking in the medium range as almost every earbuds under 50$ do, but they are a definite improvement over the stock ones.
I'm using them with this to add mic, radio and the button (which is working as intended, 2 clicks = next track).

Are there any headphones out there with controls on ??
when im out walking my dogs, i dont have a hand free to get into my pocket unlock the screen and skip track.
its kinda difficult. and controls around my neck would make life so much easier
I bought a pair of fischer audio dba-02 iem's. The best sounding headphones i have ever had. Clear, precise and combined with voodoo sound make every song new again.

Work with Cyanogen Mod 7 in Galaxy S ??
sony ericsson mw600 is good (bluetooth) with display
I have the Bose MIE2. They don't work well with the SGS. The volume is soft, the mic doesn't work and neither does the button.
I bought a cable from KV connection ($20). The volume is OK and the sound is excelent (good bass) now and the mic works, but the button doesn't work. Auto answer sloves that partially, but you can't skip songs.

[Headphones/Earbuds Review]SOL Republic AMPS HD

This is a new thread about the AMPS HD because the other thread I was on was referring to the regular AMPS.
After continuing using the AMPS HD, these are really nice headsets. More I use them, the more I love the clear sound and hard thump of the earbuds. No it's not bass heavy, but if the bass is called for, the earbuds can handle it. I totally recommend these buds as well, and the "no-tangle" cords are great. Especially when I was using my Audio Technica ATH EC7's which I bought years ago, which still is great, but produce no bass at all, tangles up ALL THE TIME lol...never thought I would love the linguine cords so much .
Ok got them in. The build is nice, very comparable to the iBeats that I have that are taken from a HTC Rezound. The isolation is on par with the beats and the SOL Republic Amps HD has 4 different ear buds to try out. More choices for a better fit.
With my excitement, I plugged these badboys in and opened up google music run a few tracks off of it and to my chagrin, the left ear was distorted! I was like all heck..now I gotta do a warranty return. I called Sol Republic up and told them my situation. They sent me an email on warranty return details. I then took a step back and try to plug the SOL AMPS HD back in and the left side had no issues anymore. Did it need to warm up? Who knows, the driver works.
Next, the fitment, with the supplied earbuds, it's really hard not to find a fit. And if you register with Sol Republic they will supply you with free earbuds for life. Cool thing to know... Also the pouch is neat too, kinda like a deflated thin kickball but the case works and has a cool to link to stuff like bags or a belt loop lol...
Ok, now down to the nitty gritty...the sound. How do these sound? GREAT. They are not for the BASS heads but more like the rounded sounds like Vmoda. They handle bass well, but that is not what the SOL Amps HDs are meant for. They are meant for pretty much a clear reproduction and are forgiving whereas you have to keep in mind you are listening to mp3. But comparing it to my Rezound iBeats, which are indeed top heavy on the bass compared to the SOL Amps HD that are not. But don't get me wrong, you max out the volume and you can still hear the tracks pretty damn clear.
As for the three button functionality, keep in mind the box indicates that the AMPS HD are for iphones and ipods. But in using them in calling the mic works from what I can tell when I call into tmobile to get my minutes and such. BUT only the middle button works for our phones. Pair the headphones with the jays headset app from the market (free) and you can use the middle button for other things than just call and hang up the phone. With the app, you can adust the volume and actually skip tracks as well. So the other buttons are not missed. Admittingly the center button does get kind of annoying, compared to a dedicated volume button. But I don't mind it.
Bottom line would I recommend this? Yes for an alternative to the heavy bass headphones in the market today. I have my go-to over the ear headphones, the v-moda crossfades lps and they are a dream to listen to. Clear as day and not heavy in the bass, much like these SOL Amps HDs. I have to preface the recommendation with that I did NOT pay full retail (99usd) in like best buy or the like. So if you can get it cheaper than retail, it's worth every penny.
Anyway, here are pics....questions anyone?
EDIT: Upon my initial use of the AMPS HD, I did contact Sol Republic on the issue and they had been more than accommodating in getting my issue resolved. KUDOS to them and their awesome service, email communication-wise and phone-wise. Yes I did call them .
Additional info can be found on their site as well.

Reporting back.....
After logging in a couple of hours of usage and listening different tracks from Pandora and stuff from my google music account, I can say the "break-in" for headphones is indeed needed for these.
Comparing these listening to Rhianna's new album, to my Rezound iBeats, the amps are much more clearer and bass is there, but not overpowering. I can say the iBeats are good but to me and my listening preferences, I prefer the SOL AMPS HD to be my daily driver. The iBeats can be my backup.

Well you can't go wrong with the Klipsch S4a. I mean the reviews are there and the S4A is the only model that works with Android, but I never had a pair to compare them. I have V-Moda Crossfade LPs, the iBeats from a Rezound, my old Audio Technica ATH EC7's and now these badboys. Thanks for turning me onto the SOL brand, I was looking for an earbud that could come close to my V-Moda Crossfade LP for overall clarity.

The Audio Technica is expensive and prone to tangles. And they have pretty much no bass, but the sound is clear as day. Not for the average user. I use them on the airplane lol....or when watching movies on the phone or my tablet. And they are expensive, I forgot how much I paid for them. I bought them as a birthday present to myself a good 10 years ago LOL.
As for the V-Moda Crossfades, they retail for about 200 but you can get it cheaper on amazon or ebay even. Actually depends on the color you want. I have the red and black one which are moderate in price. The cheapest ones are black but the cool thing about these guys is that you can interchange the plates for like 20 bux I think.
I'm just starting with trying to get good headphones and whatnot, any and all suggestions are welcome. Yesterday I bought I set of Skull Candy Ear-Buds at the T-mobile store. The Rep said those were the best they carried, I was thinking of getting beats or something else. I gotta research it.
Skullcandy is alright. Is good for listening to music. But the sol are good for daily music heads

The rep was right at the tmo store lol. Compared to stock anyways. Skullcandy isn't bad, but they are more like an accessory than a earbud. But they are indeed better than stock.
I have ibeats that came with an HTC Rezound and when I tried those, it blew me away on how loud and bassy it was. I am not too offended with the big bass but I do prefer a clearer sound with the bass not afraid to pump when it's there. So if I am listening to the Lasers album or the Bad Meets Evil album, I can comfortably listen to them without messing with the eq settings too much.
Oh and the iBeats that I have are pretty heavy, so using them to run, for example may not be suitable for some.Compared to the SOL AMPS HD, they are LIGHT. And tangles go bye-bye lol...
Well having the V-Moda Crossfades LPs kinda spoiled me in that respect. LOL So finding earbuds to even come close without breaking the budget was going to be quite a challenge. Then I tried the SOL Republic AMPS HD and was eventually swayed. Good luck in finding the ones you like!
just bought this earphones, sadly I'm not liking them that much for a simple reason, I'm a bit used to my pioneer hdj 2000, so the sound is not similar obviously.
can't use the amps hd with my old xperia x1 dunno why, and need to wait for my o3d to get back from warranty in order to get a better opinion, will give it a try with my PSP though

Help Pls Req:-Cheap htc one S in ear (buds) headphones with mic and working remote ?

Hi Alllll , just got my new htc one S a few days ago , great phone , very happy etc , but the headphones that come with the phone would be great if they where ear bud / in ear type......ideally i would like a decent quality pair for around £5.00 - £10.00 with mic and remote suitable for working with my new phone
I have tried my old samsung galaxy 1 headphones , but alas the sound echo's , the mic works and the remote....
Any reccomendations welcomed but please ideally tried and tested
I take it your in the UK? If so for the price range your looking at your not going to get the sound quality you want or deserve for music.
Have a look in Argos for code 514/6062 (KitSound KS1 Colours In Ear Headphones With Mic - Black) for £15. My choice for your price range would be a trip to eBay for a set of HTC ear phones with Mic.

Hi Yes , i am in the uk thank you , its a shame the kitsound dont quote a remote , as i would like to use for hands free when i recieve a call.
As I posted, its down to your price range. Even if you where to get around £30-40 you would get a decent set with the functions that you require. A friend has a set but is away on holidays at the moment, when he returns I'll get some info on them for you and post it.

At £10.00 your choices will be pretty limited. I suggest using an app like JAYS Headset Control with a single button set instead of one with a more functional remote.
I settled on a pair of Brainwavz M4 with mic for under £20. There's also the ebay Skullcandy store that has mic'd sets starting at under £7. But I suspect my choices and prices are a little better here in the US.
Have to bump this thread, also need something fairly cheap that has decent remote. Not really audiophile, just need my headphones occasionally for in-car use, so no point in spending £50. So £20 is probably my max. Any suggestions appreciated.

These are "fake" (I believe) HTC headphones. The same ones that came with older HTC phones (the One S I have did not come with any headphones at all!)
Edit: Don't flame me, I suggested these because he wanted cheap ones, and these are identical to the ones HTC used to supply.

Haha nothing wrong if you're buying cheap goods. I wouldn't buy any of their more expensive stuff though.
Hi guys, I'd also like to ask for some advice on a decent headphone set with a remote that actually has more than 1 button and works on the One S. I live in Germany though, so it should preferably be something that's available here or at least deliverable and cheap to import. I'd like to set the price limit to 20€, but if you really mean nothing with a decent quality can be found for that little, I might consider going up to 30€. Thanks a lot!

I spent about a week to search all over forums, topics...but still could not find any pair of good quality headphones with 3 buttons( volume +/- and play/pause) + mic for under $20 dollars. But if you guy want a good pair of headphone with only 1 button ( can do "play/pause/next song") then this is might be the best

I use my choice of one button IEMs (currently Brainwavz M4) and JAYS headset control app. Play, pause, stop, next track, previous track, volume up, volume down, etcetera all accessible from the single button.

If one's in the looking for something not that expensive, but still with a reasonable level of quality - search no more:
http://www.expansys.com/htc-smart-3-5mm-wired-headset-with-flat-cable-white-rc-e190-222183/
The RC E190 will work just fine, they are of decent build quality and the sound it's OK.
I must confess that I'm not what you would call a connoisseur or good judge of the sound quality, but the headset it's at least at the level of Sonny Ericsson models, and they look good too.
The link that I've recommend is to a major re-seller of HTC accessories (not only).
The JVCs looked perfect until I noticed the "remote" doesn't have volume control. The reviewer said it, wtf is this for a remote? Seems I'll be going the JAYS App way, although that still sounds cumbersome in comparison to at least 3 hardware keys...

[Q] HTC One s Headphone suggestion

I guys finally as per your suggestions got my HTC One s from Tmobile, a blue version works very much snappy its time to get a new headphones since I took the liberty of stamping my Desire S headphones ending up being crushed... List for htc headphones that work all three buttons & mic
- urbeats
- htc beats solo
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-001
- Nokia purity
try on the monster ibeats headphones for HTC rezound has awesome bass and superb sound ya its on the costly side as it might cost around 5000- 6000 Rs. so think va its the dr dre ones only !! but worth buyin ! with call control and everythin in it!
If you want to look cool, buy beats, otherwise I recommend pretty much any other headphones if you are look for good sound quality. Others may disagree but to me, the beats have wayyy too much bass and make your music sound very low quality.

I have the Skull Candy 50/50 Headphones. Amazing sound. Bought at Marshalls for 25.99. You can find em easy on Ebay or Amazon. Really good quality
NoiseHush NX22 Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones for HTC One Sa
Damn, you just missed the $25 dollar BRAINWAVZ HM3s; But you can still grab the Incipio f38 . Which are exactly the same--exception: accessories and slight material on pad--for $30. The HM3--or Fischer Audio FA-004 or f38--are better then pretty much any headphone mentioned thus far; especially the beats and **** candy.
If you don't mind importing from japan go on ebay and buy the JVC Victor HA-S500. It has the latest headphone breakthrough: carbon nano-tubes. They are on another level of audio listening.
I'll come back with more suggestions later.

JVC headphones all the way. Cheap and great quality!
I've been using the Sony PS3 bluetooth headset. Love it. Small profile, sounds great, has a mute button.

Yes, and if you want something in the same price range that doesn't suck at that little sound quality thing ... well you can get JVC FX101s or FX40s. You can also get the Philips SHE3580 or the Thermaltake Isurus. Why settle for bad sound quality-- even on a budget?
I am glad you went with the JVCs. The only get better as you listen. They'll sound a bit bright and bassy--with slightly recessed mids--for the first few hours but as they burn in the mids come forward, the bass tames, and the highs mellow. Carbon nanotubes are a beast to play with and they handle any volume and genre.
Remote adapter

I love these headphones,Ive had them for a year and they still work but im disappointed that a Remote adapter(Volume up,Change track etc.) doesnt work with these on the android
