triumph with 2.3.4 gingerbread - Motorola Triumph

i recently loaded my triumph with cherry mobiles magnum hd gingerbread software. the phone works great but is there a way i can get the radio to work.. by radio i mean the calling radio like not the fm radio but the actual radio to work? it seems like the software i loaded is for a gsm phone because it lists an imei number?? btw the hotspot activates flawlessly on gingerbread..the built in fm radio does not work it only picks up static..but other than not being able to connect to a cell tower it works just fine...will be uploading pics soon... is there a cdma gingerbread that i can install because im really sure cherry mobile magnum hd is a gsm phone because the phone is asking for a sim card?? but the o.s works beautifully on the triumph..

No information on radio, but there is no FM radio chip built into the triumph.

link? it's a fully functional gb rom?

yes it is somewhat functional everything else seems to work except the cell phone cdma radio and the fm radio (no hardware support aka not installed) so you can use the wifi to do stuff and both ffc and rear camera work.. at first my phone would just cycle boot ( keep restarting) so i just formated the memory and the cache in the menu where u hold down all buttons.. i just unzipped the file and put it in the sd card and renamed it (i forgot but it says when you try to load it on the phone)..
if you want the links i have to message them to you because...
(To prevent spam to the forums, ALL new users are not permitted to post outside links in their messages. After approximately eight posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thanks for understanding!)

what's the point of using that if you can't even make phone calls/send texts

Couldn't you try reloading the radio files back on it?
Sent from my MOTWX435KT using XDA App

I'm glad someone did this... will you run some benchmarks? I wonder how GB linpacks
MOTWX435KT

From what i remember the cherry is a GSM phone meaning the radio is not going to work on the triumph. Since we all know virgin is CDMA.

i wanted to see if i could atleast get gingerbread on it.. after 8 posts i will post pics of the phone and the link to install.i am trying to see how far i can take the phone.. .. the phone was rooted when it had froyo but i dont think that affects the all buttons pressed down menu... i will run some benchmark tests tomorrow... is there any gingerbread roms that are for x6 phone roms that are cdma that i could try to install??

That may be just a library difference.... and easily grafted back in and fixed!

ok heres the stuff..
link that i followed to install this gingerbread on my phone... (just a tenth warning that the cdma radio will NOT work.. wifi DOES work tho..) http://androidos.in/2011/06/install...10-now-official-build-from-huawei-x6-variant/

Oh boy..... ok, time for me set up an Android development environment over here and start ripping this apart to see if I can find the correct missing pieces and play "splicer".

MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS ALMOST OR FULLY CHARGED BEFORE BEGINNING
1.DOWNLOAD THE FIRMWARE FROM:
http://www.cherrymobile.com.ph/downloads/MAGNUM_softwareupdate2.zip
2.EXTRACT IT TO YOUR DESKTOP
3.THERE WILL BE A FILE NAMED FB0-318B-0-5019-A01.nb0 CHANGE IT TO firmware.nb0
4. AFTER THE FILE WAS CHANGED FROM FB0-318B-0-5019-A01.nb0 TO firmware.nb0 COPY IT TO YOUR SD CARD (DO NOT PLACE IN A FOLDER)
5.AFTER YOU DO THAT TURN PHONE OFF.. PRESS POWER,VOLUME UP AND DOWN AT THE SAME TIME UNTIL PHONE SCREEN SHOWS THE MOTOROLA EMBLEM..
6.NOW WHEN YOU GET INTO THE MENU PRESS BACK OR HOME TO SHOW OPTIONS.. USE VOLUME BUTTONS TO GET TO THE LAST ONE IT SHOULD SAY INSTALL OR DOWNLOAD .NB0 FILE.. CLICK ON THAT ( I THING PRESS HOME TO ENTER OR POSSIBLY BACK SORRY I FORGOT).
7. AFTER YOU PRESS ON DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL NB0 FILE IT SHOULD HAVE A CIRCULAR GREY THING ON THE SCREEN (THE SAME KIND OF ICON WHEN GOOGLE SYNC'S ON YOUR PHONE BUT BIGGER) IT TOOK ME ABOUT 5 MINS..
8. AFTER THAT THE SCREEN SHOWED MY PHONES INFO AND WARNED THAT MY BATTERY WAS LOW I JUST TOOK OUT THE BATTERY AND RESTARTED IT..
9. THE PHONE WAS STUCK IN A CYCLE IT KEPT RESTARTING AFTER SAYING MAGNUM HD ON THE SCREEN..SO I REPEATED STEPS 5-8..A FEW TIMES
WITH NO SUCCESS..
10. IN THAT MENU WHERE U PRESSED DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL NB0 FILE THERE ARE TWO OPTION IN THERE THAT ARE LIKE WIPE CACHE AND FORMAT PARTITION SO I DID BOTH OF THOSE (NO SPECIAL ORDER) RESTARTED AND I THING IT DID THE SAME THING JUST KEPT CYCLING..
11. SO I DID STEPS 5-8 AGAIN AND IT MAY HAVE BOOT CYCLED LIKE 3 TIMES BUT AFTER THAT IT BOOTS GREAT..
THE PHONE BOOTS UP AND SHUTS DOWN PERFECTLY SO THIS DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A TEMPORARY THING..
I WANTED TO DISPLAY MY TRIAL AND ERROR TO HELP YOU OUT.. NOW I DIDN'T TRY IT ANY DIFFERENT WAY SO IM JUST TELLING YOU WHAT I DID BECAUSE IT WORK FOR ME..
WARNING:NOW BY DOING THIS YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THE CDMA RADIO WILL NOT WORK (BECAUSE THE FIRMWARE IS FOR A GSM PHONE) ... BUT WIFI SEEMS TO WORK..BOTH CAMERAS WORK FINE...THERE IS NO BUILT IN RADIO IN THE TRIUMPH BUT THE FIRMWARE SUPPORTS ONE ( ALL YOU GET IS STATIC SO ITS PROBABLY THE MAGNETIC SENSOR IN THE PHONE).. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT OCCUR TO YOUR PHONE..
ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK.. I WANT TO SEE IF I CAN GET SOME REALLY SMART PEOPLE TO HELP ME FIGURE OUT IF THERE'S A WAY TO MAKE THE CDMA RADIO WORKING.. SO IT WILL BE PERFECT..

This is truly good news - definitely a step in the right direction! I don't care about CM7 - I just want a vanilla GB ROM!

Do you have CWM installed? Would it be possible to post a nandroid backup?

A few other OEM ROMs and tools are available here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1985476
Kernel Source and a few other items for the Non-Motorola variant of the Foxconn FB400 can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/FB400
Not sure if that source will help us at all, but it might!

Isaac, who is working on the CM7 port, is asking if the OP can do a system dump so he can look at it.
Here's a link to the thread where he asked:

FWIW, CM7 is basically a vanilla GB ROM.
To the OP:
Are you able to flash back to the original ROM? I'm hesitant to flash it as I don't know what the nb0 file contains. It might change partitions on the phone that I don't want it changing.
I'd like to extract the nb0 file to see what's in it. I don't know how it's done on Linux. However, if you can give me a nandroid backup of the GB ROM, I can extract the system and boot images.

i have found a few stock roms but haven't installed them because i use my other triumph to download them and trying to download 71.6mbs with sprints 3g is not so easy but i will start downloading and give it a try...also i have not done anything else to the phone except root it (when it had stock rom on it) but now i dont think that matters... what is the menu called when you hold down all the buttons i keep forgeting the name? i think there is a custom one but i haven't installed it yet... is a nandroid backup when i go in download mode and copy files? specifically what files? thank you
i will try and set the phone back to stock.. and try the cherry mobile gingerbread rom to see if it works

No, you'll have to install CWM. Download the file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16248758&postcount=428
Follow these instructions: http://androidforums.com/3016785-post115.html
Once you've accomplished that, make sure the GB ROM is still installed and run a nandroid backup. Upload the system.img and boot.img files.

Is it possible? HTC HERO ROM successfully operating on a t-mobile USA my Touch 3G

Hello team, So sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum.
I have a t-mobile USA My touch 3G which comes with google OS 1.5
Can i install the Hero ROM and have everything working such as bluetooth / wifi / 3G and everything else?
If the answer is YES , can any one direct me to a how to list on what I would need to start my adventure. I have actually no clue on how to do it but im rather a techy guy so please direct me to a place or provide me with instructions on how to do it....
Last question...If any one has already done the ROM update ...how does it run on the My Touch 3G? slow, decent, pretty quick, seamlessly?
I truly appreciate everyone's feedback and guidance. Thank you
Follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=531837
From the specs you have an "A" type phone. Suitable roms are listed there. To flash you first need to run a "recovery image" which you will also find there. Then you need to download the Android SDK (google for it. it's free). Install the USB drivers and prior to connecting your phone, enable "USB Debugging" on your phone in the settings.
Now.
1. Copy the recovery image to the tools directory of the SDK
2. Download a ROM of your choice, rename the ZIP File to Update.Zip and copy it to the root of the SD card of the phone
3. open run cmd on your pc
4. navigate in the dosshell to ..\sdk\tools
5. switch of your phone. Press back and switch you phone on again (hold back), then release back
6. type on the PC: fastboot boot recover-new.img (whereas "recover-new.img" has to be the name of your image)
7. On the Phone: Create a Backup using Nandroid
8. On the phone: Wipe the data
9. On the phone: apply update.zip
10. Reboot phone wait and pray....
Regards,
F
PS: Yes it runs quite fast. Personally I have disabled sense UI's Rosie. I like the rest of the applications though. Bluetooth ain't working yet. The rest is a go.

No since the myTouch 3G CANNOT rooted yet.
how did you get the Touch3G ? its not out yet, I can trade you with my rooted HTC Magic
Sorry for my previous comment. Can't be done. Wanted to help but lacked crucial information with regard to the dreaded SPL. Guess, I have some troubles - after switching platforms - accepting to be a newbie again. Sorry for that.
Regards,
F
Its okay, its an honest mistake, So the question is as follows....what is the likeliness of someone being able to ROOT the My touch 3G? like being able to hack it? is this SPL stuff unbreakable? or will there be a possibility to ROOT?
Sorry for the noob question but what makes the Magic different from the myTouch?
I found this article (http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Magic_Rooting) that says you can root the Magic. After reading this article, I'm thinking that the myTouch is going to be a little different.
The main issue with the MyTouch3G is that it has the perfected SPL .0010, which signature checks both boot images (so no booting into modified recovery) and flashed images (so no fastboot flashing). There is a probably a way around it, and its a work in progress from what I've read.
humm..
If you have a "perfected" image, you have to wait. I have a dev google IO and it works ok. Slow as hell but ok.

So I Unlocked (and Updated) A Branded Hero G2... Sort of...

Many moons ago I picked up a cheap HTC Hero G-2 with a T-Mobile logo on it's frontface (slightly above the screen).
Looks like this:
coolestgadgetsandgizmos.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/u1.jpg
(It was unlocked and accepts my o2 SIM.)
It was running Android OS 1.5 according to the "About" section in the phone settings.
I had no problems with this version of the OS but I wanted to try the new stuff, especially the Live Wallpapers. (kotaku.com/5574526/watching-super-mario-gameplay-as-an-android-desktop)
So I did the Gold Card tutorial and run an unbranded .exe updater.
(Pretty sure it was named RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe which is 101 meg)
The update went smoothly and the phone works fine (with my o2 SIM) but the About section in my phone still says 1.5 and there's no indication that anythings changed at all. (Other than my icons being rearranged and my apps gone.)
Anyone got any idea or links to pages showing me where I can easily update to 2.1 or 2.2?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, the ROM you have downloaded is only 1.5.
Im not allowed to post a direct link but if you visit my twitter @richiemonks0 there is a link to ezhero v5, which is my preferred rom at the moment, its android 2.1 and is fast and stable, also on my twitter is a download for a black theme for it which looks nice IMO.
On a side note, i wouldnt bother yet with a 2.2 rom for the hero as they are still in the development stages ATM so not stable.
Ok, thanks for the fast reply.
It's downloading now.
You don't happen to know where I can find a step-by-step guide for this do you?
(There's a lot of preparation steps, new Radio, Nandroid etc.)

No problem,
A step-by-step guide for what exactly. Your phone is already rooted by the sound of it.
You need a recovery image to be able to flash the ROM. Id recommend amon_RA recovery, all this info can be found at theunlockr.com (rooting, flashing a recovery image and flashing the rom)
You dont 'need' a new radio, its optional.
Also once you flashed ezhero, flash the black theme, looks ace
Hope this helps
Yes, it's helping - thanks.
At the moment I'm reading about "flashing a rom". If I understand it right, I copy over the .zip to the SD card, name it Update.zip and run it whilst the phone is in recovery mode?
(Do this for both the radio zip and then the EzHero zip?)
Sorry i didnt reply last night,
Do a nandroid backup first, then wipe everything,
Flash the ezhero first, then the radio.
You dont need to remame it to update.zip, it will work as it is.
Put the .zip on the root of you SD card (not in any files or folders)
swith phone off, hold the home button and then press power.
Keep hold of the home button until the recovery menu pops up.
Now your in recovery, Nand backup (very important) then wipe then flash exhero.zip from sd card. once finished reboot. EZHero installed
If you want to flash the radio get into recovery, nand backup but NO wipe, then flash the radio.zip from SD.
Job done, then flash the black theme.zip (optional)
Need any more help then PM me cuz xda dont have any notifications so i might miss the post, thanks for the folllow on twitter

How to Root CDMA Desire! HOOT 0.98

How to Root CDMA Desire! HOOT 0.98
Original post can be found HERE/
As many of us have researched, the Hoot on the desire is 0.98 and is hard to find any other instructions to root. Im a DROID user on the Cell South network and Last night got my hands on a Desire. The root was tricky but my friends desire is running Cyanogenmod no problem
Note: I take no resposability if you brick your phone an/or any other devices. This is just how i did it.
Instructions:
1: Download unReVoked Rooting tool. Click Here
(This tool works best if you are on linux ubuntu, windows users must install HTC Sync for the ADB Drivers)
2:Linux:
>Extract reflash, Open Terminal, Place your desire in Charge Only Mode with Debugging enabled.
> Plug in the phone and give it a few seconds to be reconized fully.
> In terminal type: cd /path/to/unrevoked then chmod +x reflash then sudo ./reflash and finally
> If it asks you for a password, use your root/user password. Unrevoked should start working and detect the phone.
Windows:
>Again Phone must be in Charge Only Mode with Debugging Enabled.
>Download the unrevoked package, Run the EXE. If you have HTC Sync installed it should detect the phone.
>Works same as Linux, Patience is a virtue.
(DO NOT CLOSE THE PROGRAM UNTIL IT SAYS ITS DONE!!. YOU WILL BRICK YOUR ****)
3. Unrevoked will begin working its magic, Your phone will reboot about 2-3 times. Be Patient!
> When its all over you will be brought to the recovery menu. (Green writing)
> Ours spit out some error code, but i restarted the phone and re entered recovery mode by holding down (Vol Down + Power)\
>You will be brought to a white screen HTC Labeled, Wait for hoot then do volume down to recovery, Push power.
4. After you have re-entered, Go down to manage and backup to Backup your stock ROM.
>Push back after the process has completed.
> Wipe the Device, then press back
> Go to mount and unmount storage.
> Mount your storage card to the computer.
5: After you have your phone plugged in make a folder on the memory card called Roms and Kernels (Whatever you prefer really).
> Go download the latest nightly/stable rom from the BravoC thread.
6:After download, Place the zip into the memory card in the Roms and Kernels folder i asked to make.
> On the android, when the file is done copying, unmount the memory card from the pc.
> Then in recovery menu, install zip file.
> Choose from SD Card
> Go to Roms and Kernels Folder.
> Select the file you downloaded.
> Click yes and enjoy!
7. You can download the Google Addon for your desire Here
YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY ROOTED and flashed YOUR DESIRE, This works on Cellular South, US Cellular, and other BravoC Desires with the 0.98 Hoot.
Don't forget to say thanks!
I have been looking to do this for a long time. And it worked great, the only problem is I don't understand the rom.
in the second step when it says:
> If it asks you for a password, use your root password. Unrevoked should start working and detect the phone.
you should use your user password, not the root password.
(of course your user must be a member of the sudoers group)
No need for passwords. But wish I had my HTC Clock and Calendar back.
You lose some you gain some buddy. there is a clock, look up fancy widget 1. 3 apk in your google box. and you can get it free.. Not gnna post a link cause of the rules. but its the ported HTC clock.
Thanks, but didn't care for that clock, saw one for $2 but couldn't get it to display so I uninstalled it. I know about "Win some, loose some" After all I have had a WinMobile phone for a couple years. And started flashing ROM's since the Touch Pro. My problem is, by the time I find a perfect ROM, I upgrade to a different phone. Did that with the TP1, and again with the TP2. Now the search begins again with the Desire. Actually the only problem I had with the stock 2.1 rom was that I kept running out of room. But thanks for the help and I am off again to find the perfect CDMA ROM!!!
awesome! just got my desire last night. to be sure after i root i will lose clock and calender? also (sorry, maybe a noob question) i like the sence, wasnt a big fanof AOSP and i notice all the Rom's here seem to be for GSM not CDMA. if i was to root and run the stock 2.1 and get rid of all the junk apps in it would that be possible? and lastly, does anybody know if there is a RUU for Csouth's desire incase i need to go back to original like we could with the hero?

1. You shouldn't lose clock and calender.
2. After you root, install Titanium Backup. It will allow you to uninstall those apps you don't want.
3. No RUU's available for CDMA at this time. Make sure you do a nandroid backup immediately after rooting
uhh buddy there is a RUU out for it. Thats what the recovery menu basically is, the installer for the zip file. Cyanogen Mod is the ROM. To keep your Cellular South ROM you just backup like the instructions say, if you ever want to go back you Wipe the device and restore the image from your SD Card. Theres a link to Cyan in the main post. RC1 Came out yesterday!

when i said RUU i meant a stock RUU put out by Csouth just like they gave us for the hero. it would put your phone back exactly like it was when you took it out of the box so if you needed to take it back to the store for whatever reason you could simply use it to go back to original.
ok guys one more question, i got root just fine. gonna keep running my stock rom but when i installed titanium backup (never used it before) it said busybox not installed and i dont have root access. i do have root cuz shoot me is working. i searched busybox in market and it says wont work for the desire yet.. any ideas? i ran into this problem with SU on my hero and had to change to the chainsDD version of SU. could this be the same thing?
ALSO: trying to use ADB and it says permission denied.
EDIT . Spoke to soon and did unrevoked forever and seems to all be working now.
Hi,
I am new to this sort of thing. I just got my phone and I am following this guide and I am thinking about trying it on my phone. Here's what I've got:
HTC Desire
Running Android 2.1
Alltel is my service provider
This is the information I get when I boot up my phone while holding the "back" button:
Bravoc DVT2 Ship S-ON
HBOOT-0.98.0000
MicroP-051e
Touch Panel-SYNT0101
Radio-2.05.10.08.11
Jul. 5, 2010, 19:14:11
Will this guide work with my phone?
The sole reason I'm wanting to do this is because I want to use a Wii remote with emulators on my phone. I am aware that there is an Android app that will do so, but that app doesn't work with phones that use HTC's "sense". I'm also aware that there are certain third-party wireless bluetooth controllers, but don't want to use them. So, I've been told that my only option is to root the phone so that I can have a custom ROM on it. If there is another way to do this without rooting, I'd love to know what that is.
Any information pertaining to any of this would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Rooting is the only way to flash a custom Rom and yes unrevoked will work with your hboot. Not sure about any of the wii stuff your talking about tho.
Sent from my HTC Desire CDMA using XDA App
Thanks. And one other question I forgot to ask: Suppose I do this and an update to android 2.2 comes out for my phone. What should I do then?
If they give you a ruu just do it like normal, but as soon as they do cone out with a ruu for it whether its uscc or cellular south, there will be a custom Rom made from it.

Check the MD5 checksum for the Reflash_Package.exe
Most likely a corrupted installation.
I have the same phone/hboot/ etc...
I was able to root with unrevoked, no problem. I did get an error in the recovery at the end but per this guide, that seems to be normal.
I was able to run a backup in nandroid, which also worked, but I noticed S-on didn't change to S-off. Is this normal for this phone? Should I try rerunning unrevoked?

I had this same issue. I did some research and there is a thread on unrevoked wiki that has an updated unrevoked-forever.zip to flash that gives us successful S-off. There seems to be a problem with S-off ing this route though. After it was complete, the APN info was gone and MMS settings were blank. I used APN backup/restore to put APN info back in, but still would not send/receive. I had to restore MMS via Goldcard, which changed back to S-on. Any ideas?
Since this seems to be the only generic CDMA Desire thread, I have some questions for other CDMA Desire owners. First, the only rom I can find with everything working is CM, but not sure I like the way it looks. I'm looking for a Sense rom. Anyone running a stable one? Second, I have found a rom called Ultimate Droid 2.3 and 2.4 for CDMA desire that looks worth trying. Anybody running it or tried it yet? 3rd, is there any other good forums specifically for CDMA desire? I am sick of having to weed through the billions of GSM threads to find a CDMA one...

[Q] How do I flash new radio using ace hack kit

Im running Android Revolution and now I would like to flash the recomended radio. However i do not have eng s off so fastboot flash radio radio.img does not work for me.
After reading the effen manual, what i understand is that to flash a new radio I need to
1. rename the desired radio zip file to rom.zip
2. place it in the romzip folder
3. open hack ace cmd menu and select to install my own radio
Heres where im confused. When I follow the link provided to here the instructions seem to conflict each other.
Ive studied this as much as I can over the past two days but havent found much solid info.
I also tried using visionary b4 I even flashed the AR ROM but it did not work.
Could someone confirm that it is as easy as stated above or if im wrong please help a brother out. I just need to flash the recommended radio and havent found a solution im confident with. Please and Thanks to anyone who can help me out.
I personally go by the instructions from the link you provided. Just rename the zip, put it in the root of.your SD card, and flash via hboot. And that's it.

this is how it's done for me, minus the links needed to flash the radio, as they are not mine.
You should also flash the matching RIL file (radio interface layer) that HTC pushed out with this new radio. Here are the steps to do all of this:
Below is a link to my dropbox folder containing the P98IMG.zip file containing the new radio. Download this file to your computer. Now we need to check to make sure the file didn't get corrupted during the download process (extremely slight chance of this happening, but we don't want to flash a corrupt file to your phone and risk bricking it). Download md5.exe from below and run it, and browse to the P98IMG.zip you downloaded. The MD5 hash it displays should match this number exactly:
33BAEBAD8B1E7A20F4603AFF0BA66468
You can paste this number into the MD5 program so you can compare them.
Now that we've verified the file is good, copy this file to the root of your SD card and reboot your phone into bootloader mode. Once you're in the hboot/bootloader screen, select bootloader and wait a few seconds and it will automatically find the .zip file and then prompt you to proceed. This process is what flashes the new radio, it takes about 20 seconds or less. Once it's done, reboot into your ROM like normal. Go into settings>>about phone and check your radio version; it should now show 26.06.06.30.
Now we need to flash the matching RIL file. Download the file below and copy it to your SD card. Don't worry about checking the MD5 hash. Reboot your phone into clockwork recovery mode, and then select install zip from sdcard>>choose zip from sdcard then select the RIL .zip file and flash it. Reboot back into your ROM. We are done! Let me how it works for you. You might give it a few days before making any decisions, it seems like some ROMs need to adjust to new radios/RIL files before the battery life settles down to normal (that is my experience anyway).

My goal is to flash the radio recommended for AR HD. I did so by moving it to root of sd and hboot. But i dont think it took becasue baseband does not match up. It stayed the same after two tries. I would really like to follow the devs instructions for the radio. However I cant seem to successfuly flash it.
NARRRRRRRRRRR did you even read what i typed?
direct instructions
Dude my bad man. Is this the radio for AR HD...radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 ? the numbers did not match up. I dont see a link for your dropbox though? I really apologize for being dense if i am and I really appreciate your quick reply and patience. thank you
We are going to need more specifics on what you did. But following wdkingerys instructions are exactly what you need to do

What I did was
1.rename the radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 (radio recommended by dev) to PD98IMG.zip
2.boot into hboot it found it i got the progress bar on the right had side it took about 5 seconds or so
3. Then i went into fastboot to select power down and then i turned it back on
I want to follow your directions but I dont see the dropbox links. Like i said earlier I really appreciate your patience
Ok I checked out the AT hd thread and yes 12.54. Is the recommended radio. Wdkingery mentioned the stock ATT radio. When you check the radio/baseball in about phone what does it say? It should match to what your trying to flash
Sent from my TARDIS using XDA App
Thats what I thought but it doesnt. I went in the IRC (dont remember which) and have gotten a copy of everything wdkingery said and will follow his instructions. It currently says baseband# 12.28b.60.140eP_26.03.02.26
-i think the problem was that the AR HD recommended radio is for a DHD not sure
I've flashed dhd radios, so that shouldn't be the problem. Though in my case the dhd radios were never as good as stock. Again that was me as plenty of others have gotten better results with other radios. It more of a trial an error in my opinion and flashing radio does have its risks so I tend to stay away.

I think your right, apparently that radio required eng s off and again thank you.
Im now rockin 06.06.30 and about to load the RIL. Will follow up with results
Got the RIL installed and im good to go speedtest.net app shows 3 down 1 up. Not great but im gonna bet thats more to do with the tornados that just came through here. The network has been iffy throughout the city anyways. Also ill follow the advice given to wait a couple days b4 makin any real judgments. Thank you again to both of you guys. I think ive managed to get my head wrapped around this a little better.
Glad I could help . I think I might have figured it out . I downloaded the 12.54 radio and compared it to my stock zip. The AR ZIP does not contain Android Info text file. This is the first time I've ever looked I.side the zip, so.this is new to me. I believe this file is needed in the zip. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
So from reading the flashing radio thread. They state to replace the radio images (with the one you want)so the txt file is probably important and hence it not working for you.
You should try out the stock like you said, and see if it works for you. If not I with this new Info, we should be able to get you on 12.54
On a slightly different note. Eng s-off is not needed. And is even riskier than hboot, trays why many devs prefer the hboot method

Great thank you. I might still want to try 12.54 in the future so ill keep that in mind. I would like to know exactly why one radio is better than the other anyways so for now im happy with this one. I was in the AR HD irc for a while but couldnt get anyone. Ill get to the bottom of it sooner or later. Thanks again

Rogers RUU for EVO 3D that doesn't boot

ROGERS RUU RECOVERY METHOD FOR ROGERS EVO 3D PHONES
Hello, I am new to XDA and I don't know much about rooting, but unlike most noobs, I am not here to ask for help.
A few days ago I was trying out rooting and was pretty pleased with what I could do, so I went ahead and tried to flash my stock rom to VIPER rom. This did not work as planned, as I tried to flash my phone with a CDMA rom, and not a GSM rom. My phone is a GSM phone. This obviously left my phone hanging at the HTC screen, and I thought I wrecked my beautiful 500$ phone. After 5 hours of frantic research, at 3 o'clock in the morning, I discovered something called an RUU. Unfortunately, most of them were for US phone providers, and me being from Canada, I had a rogers phone. After trying a few(and failing), finally, I found an RUU that could work, but it was an executable, and would not connect to my phone. As I had access to REVOLUTIONARY, I could still access my files on my sd card, and wondered if I could extract the PG86IMG.zip and put it on my sd card to do a factory reset and reinstall everything. Luckily, it actually worked and my phone was brought from the dead and ran as if I just bought it.
So in the next few posts I will explain how to do it for the few who are in the same situation as me with a ROGERS EVO 3D. This most likely will not work for any other phone. It might work for another supplier's GSM EVO 3D, but I have not tested it and I don't recommend it unless you have nothing else to try or you really want rogers bloatware.
Procedure
PROCEDURE
This procedure SHOULD work if you have a ROGERS EVO 3D phone, as I imagine they are all the same. However if it doesn't, you must realize that you are doing this at your own risk and I am not responsible if your phone gets damaged in any way.
NOTE: This will set the phone back to its original state when you first bought it.
If your phone was SIM Unlocked, it will not remove the Unlock.
1. Make sure your phone is charged. I don't know what could happen if you run out of juice when flashing back to stock ROM but I don't want to and I have a feeling that neither do you. Just leave it plugged in to the wall for two hours just to be safe.
2. Before you do anything, make sure that you can get into the HBOOT. This is fairly easy, just take out the battery, put it back in and then hold both the power button and the volume down button until the HBOOT shows up. If it does show up, great, shut off your phone and move on to the next step. If it doesnt show up, keep trying. After 3 tries if it doesnt work, there are three reasons for this.
A) Your phone isn't charged. Plug it into the wall for two hours.B) Your HBOOT is screwed up and you cant reach it. I can't help you with that. Look somewhere else or take it in to your warranty/provider.C) You are having hardware problems. Faulty battery, phone charger not working, power button not working, volume button not working, all things you might want to check if you can. Look somewhere else or take it in to your warranty/provider.
3. Access your/a microSD. You might have noticed when you went inside your HBOOT that it was searching for a file. That file is actually the file that we need that will allow us to reset the phone to provider default. There are two different ways to access this.
A) Take out the card and connect it to the computer using a adapter. This is probably the easiest way and is almost guaranteed to work.
B) Since you have rooted your phone (and are in this unfortunate position) you might be familiar with a tool called REVOLUTIONARY (Previously called ClockWorkMod). Note this is only available if you have REVOLUTIONARY installed. You can access it in the HBOOT by scrolling down using the volume buttons to RECOVERY, hitting the power button to select, in REVOLUTIONARY going to mounts and storage and then select mount USB storage. Connect the usb adapter in both your phone and in your computer. It will show up in My Computer as if it is a flash drive. I used this method.
4. Download this file: http : //www . filefactory . com/file/49tsgwxc6bd3/n/FACTORY_RECOVERY_File_For_ROGERS_EVO_3d_zip (Remove the spaces. I am not allowed to post links till 8 posts in total so I must do this.)
Mirror:
5. Put the attached file onto the hard drive. Extract the "FACTORY_RECOVERY_File_For_ROGERS_EVO_3d.zip" and place the "PG86IMG.zip" on the root of the microSD. Plop the card back in the phone, turn off the phone once again and re-enter into HBOOT. The phone will find the PG86IMG.zip file and then ask if you would like to update. Scroll to yes, press the power button to select it, and watch. This process should take up to 3 - 6 minutes.
6. Once everything is said and done, it might reboot, but if it doesn't you can reboot it yourself. Start up your phone, and watch in amazement when your ROGERS screen appears and the phone comes back to life.
RE-ROOTING
This guide is pretty much a slightly modified version of zedomax's guide on youtube, and should work for any CDMA phone (but I can't confirm it) and certain GSM phones, including Rogers.
Re-rooting is a bit more sketchy as rooting for the first time (at least it was for me).
This guide is only for windows computers (Since the mass population of people only use windows, and if you have a mac, you probably have an iPhone. If you have Linux, you probably know how to make a unicorn pop out of the phone, so you don't need a guide.)
Before you do anything, you need to check the HBOOT version. This is absolutely crucial. Some HBOOT's are not supported, so if you try with the wrong HBOOT, you might totally destroy your phone. For good this time.
To be continued...
I realise that there may not be many people in the same position as me for a while, so feel free whenever to send me a message if you need help. I will most likely keep the files for a few years on my external hard drive.
Android 4+ after recovery
Hello!
Is this a recovery for Android 4? If not, were you able to update back to 4 after recovery?

No unfortunately, but then I didn't attempt to fix it either. I just stayed with the stock OS because I didnt feel like I needed to update it that badly.
Link is dead
The link is dead, could someone please post a mirror? Thanks!
