So I been having my evo4g rooted for about 2 weeks now and i love it!! now i been looking into some ROMS to accomadate my needs, i've tried synergy ROM and i like it but i want to stay with stock rooted rom, i would like to know if there is a way of adding the "Sprint Mobile Wifi Hotspot" hacked/unlocked included on this rom into mine? Please help.

Hey there folks!
this is my fisrt post on the forum so here goes.
I've got my first android phone a couple of weeks ago and since then I did the S-OFF and rooted it. I read the boards here, i maneged to get new roms on it without any problems and I am very happy with the performance of the phone now.
The only thing is that I can not get 3G data connectivity only EDGE.
I live in a place that always has 3G and it seems a little odd.
If anyone has encoutered this problem please let me know if and how to resolve it.

Have you tried with another ROM? ZuluGen or the inofficial nighthly? These are not ports from Inc S, but made directly from Cyanogen source.
I think it's worth to give it a try... Just don't forget to do a NAND backup before flashing a new ROM! (This can directly be done in ROM Manager when choosing the ROM to flash. )
I assume you know how to use Titanium Backup to port all your settings and apps to the new ROM. If not, no worries... it's fairly simple and actually self-explanatory!

Epic fail.
So I have a few questions regarding my new toy...
First off no problem rooting and anything else to do with rooting. My 1 main issue is I would like to use a custom ROM and had no issues getting Revolution installed. My main issue is that being a Bell client in Canada, I would like to use my mobile tv app and using a custom rom, i was having issues connecting to the network but had no other issues with any network.
So, can a custom kernal be put on a stock rooted phone? if so, what is the best choice? also what custom rom can i use to ensure that I can use my tv app. I pay for it, thus would like to use it.
next question...is there a list of what stock apps can be removed either via root explorer or terminal? 1 list would be perfect and I can go from there.
any help would be great!

I was able to try 3 custom rom's already for my Xperia Sola and what I would like to find out is why hotspot is not working anymore.
When I flash stock rom, it will work but for the custom rom's there are some that this feature doesn't work.
For advance users, should I do some other or advance settings for this to work? When I use mobile data, it works and it has no problem.
Others can connect to my hotspot signal but won't have internet connection/access.
Im running ICS custom rom at the moment.

If you're rooted, try WiFi Tether for Root Users from the play store. Works for me when the built-in hotspot does not.

I've been researching bout Rooting and Custom Roms for months and I've rooted my phone successfully just last week and been enjoying it BUT I'm really obsessed of having Custom Roms specifically MIUI V5!
And that's the problem, it seems my device don't support custom roms. Mybe its not compatible. I've been searching for CustomRoms for this Device for weeks and I dont even sleep sometimes cuz I really want to have that ROM yet I CANT FIND ANYTHING.
I've been trying to flash other roms like MIUIV5 for CherryMobile Flare or CM Skyfire 2.0 (cuz I think they're closely related) but no matter how many times I try to use the CWM Recovery, ROM Manager or TWRP, it still won't flash that ROM. Cuz maybe they're not compatible with this device.

I have rooted my Samsung S Relay 4G SGH-T699 (previously unlocked and can use any sim) - I used CWM recovery, etc.
I love this phone.
The only problem is I want to get rid of all the T-Mobile branding crap, especially the Wifi Tethering Problem.
My experience: I use ODIN to flash, I also use ADB and SU. I also love experimenting
Is there some modified stock rom which has a tethering fix? The splash screens I can get rid of using other means.
I would really value some advice - I know you guys are all geniuses!!!

There are threads with debloated Stock images. There's also some custom image alternatives (Such as CyanogenMod 10.2, and new betas of CyanogenMod 11.0) Just have a look through the forums here, they're not hard to find.
