Is there a way to install the apps to the internal storage instead of the sd card? I remember awhile ago there was an option on CM that allowed internal/external settings. I can't finder it anymore. My sd card is only 1gb taken from my old G1.

Which rom are you using right now?
If you're on stock (based) ROM, then you can use ADB/terminal to issue the command pm setInstallLocation 1 to force apps to use the internal storage, if on CM7 the option is under CM Settings => Application => Install Location
In CM if we set it to internal will apps install on the internal sd card or on the internal rom (is that the right word im looking for?)?
They'll be in /data/app, so what you would call 'internal ROM'
Thank you that's exactly what I was looking for

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if there's a way to move apps to the internal sd card (not internal ROM)?
I have a 16gb class 10 microsd card but i want to use all that space for music. That 5gb internal sd card is just sitting there, i'd really want to use it for app installation space.
Any clues?
I think you have to change the setting to internal and reinstall the apps

If so you can use the zip from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144553
Flash the one that says it makes external secondary. It will mount your internal sdcard as /sdcard and will mount your external as a folder /sdcard/_ExternalSD
G2X CM7
Thanks. I think that did the job!
I'm wondering if I'm going to switch my rom from an internal based rom (weapon g2x) to an external (eaglesblood 2.3.5), do I need to change my cwm from internal to external support? I just got a new SD card so I'm ready for an external based rom finally. Do I just reflash reocvery for external? Move a folder?

Not necessarily. Just make sure if your recovery uses the internal memory that whatever rom you want to use is saved to the internal memory before you boot into recovery. Same goes for external memory/recovery.
Thanks for the response ... but isn't it true then that rom manager wont work because it'll be looking for it on the external? This was my experience last time, although it may have been because I didn't have an SD card either.

Just noticed this today myself. Glad to see that feature added. This question comes up regularly, almost as much as "how do I root 2.3.3" lol. Now it will be simpler to explain how to flash a zip from clockwork.
Ok, so I unlocked the phone, flashed the new touch recovery. I put SU on the internal storage. I mount system and flash and it fails. Any help would be much appreciated.
No ideas?

You mount system? You don't need to mount anything manually from within recovery. Simply boot to recovery, flash SU, be done.
Any error message? That could help us help you!

You put the su zip in the internal memory? It belongs in the external memory, also known as USB storage or sdcard storage. From there, you can select install zip from SD card then, choose zip. No mounting required.

OK well I didn't know about it needing to be on the sdcard. But after trying 3 different recovery and 4 different superuser zips I got root now. All were on internal. But its a old version. And I cant get it to update through market. Gonna retry on the SD. Thanks for the help
Also, am I not supposed to flash anything from the internal storage? Or is that just for su?

ohh.. thanks for clearing out, you got everyone confused. Things lost in translation haan
BTW no external memory card in Nexus S anyways... Its 16GB Memory partitioned into internal memory and sd card, 1GB : Remaining 13.5GB
Everything through recovery is done from SD-Card, and put in root of the card.
Regards
I wanted to use swap over the sd-card partition. And i used MiniTool partition program.I followed something wrongly.I deleted the partition. Now the sdcard wont be recognised either on the PC or the phone.I would really apreciate help because it is a 16 gb sd class 10 card.i payed a lot for it,so i dont want to have 25$ in trash.:crying:
Boot into recovery and use the options there to partition & format your SD card from your phone.
And if you paid $50 for 16GB card, you got ripped off.

Yes, this is the way :good:
Just learned I could partition my SD and restore it through CWM. Thanks to the OP and first reply.
It said that can't mount sdcard.can't read sdcard
Put the SD card in your computer, and use this to format it.

Hello
I just bought an Xperia L.
internal memory disappoints me.
it's 1.57 n 4gbplus sd card.
can I use sd card for game data as 4gb
isn't enough for me. While buying I thought it'll be 6 n sd. I have 16gb card. How to I install three to four games of about 1.2 gb each? (4.8gb)
There is a tutorial on the forum how to swap internal with external memory which will make your 16 Gb SD Card as a Internal memory.
But be careful and do not format the internal one (will be know as a external after swap) as this will brick your phone. Just swap, do not formate and here you go
link2SD worths a look too

afaik the only difficulty you could find is the sdcard partitioning, but it can be easily performed from the recovery

Thank you for being detailed. I exactly know what are you talking about. It takes just two minutes to setup Link2sd if you are rooted.
The reason I do not like Link2Sd is that once you factory reset your phone, sometimes it corrupts your system files. It happened with me a couple of times. It's just I had a bad experience with it.
Cheers again

I repartitioned my internal SD card and my userdata to use for cm12. I used it, and then I decided to flash stock. While flashing, flashtool gave me an error.
After that, only thing that works are Flashmode, Fastboot and Recovery with adb.
I can't flash anything on recovery, as it says E:/ can't be mounted.
I also tried fastboot flash system system.sin, but it failed.
I took the advice of an xda member to use gparted, but my device isn't recognized, or so I think.
Please help me, I have no warranty over this device, and I also have no knowledge.

I be very brief because of my exam tomorrow. Google /Check XDA posts/ quote me back after google/XDA
Get flashtool for Sony Xperia
http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Install drivers from flash tool
Download ftf for your phone c2105 or 104 . check settings about for this information.(XDA Xperia l general section) @Joel16 he has wonderful guide for all this
Use flash tool to flash stock ROM. Clear portion/cache etc (google how to use it)
See if that works!
Or yoy can use Sony's own tool PC companion(find on Sony mobile website) to repair your phone!
Next Tim use folder mount app to install many big games to sdcard1.
Good luck
Is there any way to increase my Device memory(2gb) by merging it with Internal memory(4gb)? Even though I have 191mb free in device memory, the google maps and all are not getting installed in my rooted phone.
