[Q] senseless rom for sensation how to get 3300 in quardrent - HTC Sensation

it says we can get 3300 but i only get about 2100 what else do i need to do

Which version are you running? 1.1 or 1.2?
Because if your running 1.1 this comes with the Unity V5 kernel and you should be able to reach this easier.
If your running 1.2 this comes with the stock kernel and you'll need to download Unity V5 to help get those scores.
You can download the Unity V5 kernel from http://www.multiupload.com/EP1YPXAICW

Yup. Just to give context, my Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy S) got something abysmal like ~900 on the app, but the phone sure as hell wasn't a slouch.

Flipside of that was with the right kernel, galaxy s phones could score up to 3100 but they were horrible for any use other than obtaining high scores.

hemorrdroids full review of Desire S

hey guys I've just put the full review of the Desire S up on hemorrdroids.
You can find it here:
http://hemorrdroids.net/htc-desire-s-review/
I've done some benchmarks, and I've also tested it against the original Desire.
Hope you lot like it and hope it helps anyone looking to buy the Desire S.
Let me know what you lot think, thanks guys
nice review
but i have a doubt
why is the desire hd having a higher quadrant score than the desire S?

Yeh i'm not sure about it either, I ran the quadrant test so many times, and it never went higher than 1225. I find it odd, considering the Desire HD and Desire S share the same processor and gpu

can you also pls kindly do a comparison between the dhd vs Desire S in web browsing speed?
thanks for the great review!

Well the desire s is running gingerbread right? We know 2.3 shows a big decrease in performance and quadrant scores on the nexus one and other phones. Example, n1 on froyo hits 1650 easily, but on 2.3 gingerbread it only gets 1100 or so, sometimes 1200.
So the desire s runs 2.3 so this doesn't surprise me. Though with its better CPU I would expect it to be a bit higher.

ah... i thought all android updates are meant to give it a speed increase and enhancements/optimizations :/ also the new sense ui is slightly heavier and will slow the phone down a bit.

hmm...that can be true
but linpac did give a higher score..
could it be that quadrant is not optimized for gingerbread ?

that's always possible, but quadrant and gingerbread have been around for a long time now. it seems to be across the board, i.e. cyan 7 or stock 2.3.3, always lower than froyo. i experience slower choppy scrolling and "chunky" lag on gingerbread, where froyo is just smooth as butter. so i just think something got borked in the newer code base. i just dont know...

Is the Hummingbird processor, just an OC'ed 1ghz?

I can't seem to find a model number of the processor used in the Infuse. Is it the same Hummingbird that is in the Nexus S (S5PC110), just OC'ed to 1.2gh?
If so, does that mean that we are tapped out at 1.2?
Yes, same processor, just OCed. I'm sure it could overclock a little more up to at least 1.4 like the original Galaxy S could, maybe 1.6 if you're lucky.
thanks... not that I am complaining about the speed... just hoping for a higher baseline to work with

yes. it seems to be identical. some users may be topped, but they may have saved better tested units for faster clocked phones. there may be a greater percentage of users that can see above 1300mhz than on the sgs. if you are concerned about clockspeeds then get a snapdragon powered phone. qualcom has there own dies and some of them see speeds as high as 1.8ghz.
but im sure if you see this chip at 1.4ghz+ benchmark you wont see a need for more

meh... this seems more than fast enough for me (right now)... not sure I need to mess with it, just for benchmark bragging rights.
oh, who am I kidding, of course, I will OC it when a kernel gets released
I just wanted to post this for information only.
Even though the chip is the same, since is OC'd from the factory it means a higher quality chip. Thus it should still be able to clock higher than the other 1Ghz chips.
It may be a similar chip, but much smoother than when I overclocked galaxy. Benchmarks are better than the inspire I overclocked 1.5g

Didn't feel any smoother than an overclocked Captivate running a 2.2.1 firmware to me and didn't bench any higher either. If it is smoother, it's probably because of tweaked software and different memory and/or nand components.
The chip itself has the same model number.

Probably true, but I've seen several reports of stock Infuses overheating, which doesn't inspire confidence in its overclocking abilities.

[Q] I jumped ship to htc to try the htc sensation and regretting it.

hello everyone. coming over from the galaxy s forums.
i recently jumped ships and bought an htc sensation 4g (tmous) and i rooted it yadda yadda yadda flashed insert coin, leedroid, and revolutionhd nonsense.
now coming from a galaxy s vibrant running bali 1.8.8 kernal, bionix v 1.3.1 and lcd density set at 192 which all worked so good for me.
i need you guys to tell me this is a good phone and i should keep it bc i want to give it a shot however all the roms i flash for the sensation are slow for me.
im looking for a clean no sense build and revolutionhd no sense is that rom. when i run a quadrant the phone gets about a 850 900 on revolution hd. i kno quad scores dont mean much but the phone feels sluggish and slow.
can someone direct me on what im doing wrong and why this phone appears to run so slow? i mean really slow. is this how htc phones perform? my last htc phone was a mt3gslide running cm6 at the time
Try revolution HD 3.0.1, 3.0.2 was kinda slow on my phone but 3.0.1 is mega fast. If its not fast enough, then this might not be the phone for you, but for me and most others its fast enough. Also, quadrant doesn't even utilize the second core.

I'm regretting my switch from the galaxy s as well.. Hopefully things will change soon with new rooms or something.

thats what i figured about quadrant. is the cpu1 being used at all on revolutionhd?

true story. i went to take it back and tmobile wanted me to pay a 50 dollar restocking fee which is ridiculous. its listed locally for 400
il straight trade for a nexus s
Before trading it in, please try the 2.3.0 version of Leedroid.
High benchmark scores (check thread), superb battery life (1,5-2 days with light-normale use) and very smooth.
The Sensation should be the best phone there is atm considering the hardware. Unfortunately HTC didn't optimize the ROM + drivers for it.
Also damn you HTC for being so ssssslow in releasing the 2.3.4 kernel. Lot's of people could do magic with it
i have a few pms about trading for a nexus s. im sorry guys. my heart belongs to samsung. i gave htc a second try and realized it wont work between us.
yes she looks good wrapped in that metal but samsung phones are just down right a dirty girl
if you ever owned a galaxy phone you will understand this and agree
Making me miss my captivate.. but i still love my sensation
phone runs great for me on... MT-S4g v1.1.2 (tmous 2.3.4 tweaked stock looking though)

If you're willing, wait till ROMs come out that have proper dual core support. Not this madness where you force once core to be on all the time, but a ROM that intelligently manages both cores to maximize performance/battery life. Also ICS should bring better dual core support. If you can't wait, then jumping ship seems like the answer.
I would wait to jump ship. It's a new phone, New set of hardware. The dual-core is still being delta with. For the most part, I think this thing fly's. Small bugs, but time will heal all. If you trade now, two months from now your gonna kick your own asset around for trading. Just saying. Good luck to you

Okay eww on Samsung, I had (still have but dont use) a Captivate, they don't have working GPS, TW is so laggy, samsung makes great tv's, ****ty phones. Good luck. I love my Sensation, maybe I got lucky, I have none of the issues I read about on the forums. I am still on stock because, as of now, it's perfect out of the box. I tried a few ROMe but without kernel source for 2.3.4 they are full of bugs. Maybe it's perfect for my daily use, idk, so far, it's been a great two weeks.

hear hear! it its a really good fone, but SOOOOO different from the sgs/sgsII when comparing hardware/software...
the processor is far too advanced for the software to actuaal make proper use of it, aSync is a little tricky, but the devs here are doing some AMAZING work to get both running at the same time (bear in mind this processor is NOTHING like hyperthreading for dekstops, its practically like 2 physical processors on a single chip)
it will get much better before it gets any worse, and my saving grace is that this fone launched almost 6 months before the iphone 5, and the specs are STILL better take that jobs/cook!
I came from an SGS with custom roms which was pretty smooth but I have to say the Sensation with P3D Neon rom is a lot smoother and the Sense animations are very fluid. I also find the browser to be a lot better than that on the SGS especially with the extra qHD resolution.

What, that's perfectly legit synthetic benchmark score I posted.
Everyone knows quadrant can't be made to show better than the phone should be capable of.

I usually hit 3k no big deal...
There is no perfect way to calculate the power of a phone and it is completely subjective. If you love the phone then that is a good enough reason to have it.
I know there are cooler phones with Tegra 2's, but why do I need that in my phone? I mainly use it for texting and web access and/or tethering to my Transformer.
OC @ 2.0ghz Performance governor.
Ok guys.we all know quadrent scores mean bupkiss. So no need for these threads LOL
Thread xlosed

Test drove a Galaxy Nexus today.

My buddy got one, he loves it. Had to put it through it's paces. Some good news, most Senseless roms outperform the Galaxy Nexus is day to day operations. Don't get me wrong, my ARHD + AOSP V41 theme (Basically a slightly updated VI4.0.1) only opened applications .5 seconds to 1 second faster, but my point is that it is indeed faster.
Very good to know when it comes to phone shopping. I'm not gonna say the GNex lags like crazy and it's sooooo slowwwww but you get the gist. He does, however, have CRT-off .
Still, very cool.
So you're comparing a highly tweaked kernel and rom against a stock rom? It doesn't work that way lol...
I seriously doubt that the sensation will outperform the galaxy nexus as it doesn't even outperform the galaxy s2...
PS.: I have both sensation and sgs2 and as much as I love the sensation, it can never achieve the smoothness and speed of a tweaked sgs 2 rom... (cm7 vs cm7 and cm9 vs cm9)

ARHD is stock kernel unless you choose otherwise, I did not choose otherwise. All I'm saying is that a Sense rom with most Sense removed was slightly faster than my buddies GNex, which also had a custom rom.
You can't assume his is stock and you can't assume I have this special, magical kernel.

Ok, shame on me, I jumped to conclusions
I have international version of GSM Galaxy Nexus updated and running latest ICS 4.0.4 and I can definitely see a lag compared to Sensation (which now belongs to my wife) running AOSP ROM and 1.5 Ghz kernel. Heck, even kids Vibrants running either ICS or 2.2 ROMs are silky smooth compared to Galaxy Nexus.
Now Galaxy Nexus pushes significantly more pixels than either Sensation and especially Vibrant but I thought better GPU, A9 CPU and original Google ROM will more than make up for it but it is not the case. Nexus however is much better in battery and overall to me feels like a much more solid phone. I am in minority here but like plastic more than slippery HTC aluminium and display is better anyway, so happy with it so far.
