Hey guys is it possible to use link2sd to link all my apps in the special beta 2 ROM? BTW I have a 1gb fat32 partition. Also, does all links from the previous rom get wiped when I nandroid new rom?
And lastly, if I wanted to go back to my stock 2.1 nandroid, how will the phone be able to restore since my app space is 200mb and phone internal memory is only 170mb? Hope u guys can help me!!

Link2SD isn't supported (yet). It's on my radar, but we're working out some other problems first.

I don't think I understand this question. The nandroid would be the same size as when you made it...? If the files were not in your nandroid, where would they be coming from when you restored?

Oh what I meant was that last time somebody told me that when I flash new ROM, all links of the apps in the sd card partition will be gone (here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106927) so if I were to go back to 2.1 nandroid after some time wouldn't the apps need to restore in the internal memory instead of being linked to the sd card? Oh and BTW I backed up everything in nandroid except for baseband software, Linux bootloader and device tree. Even though I chose to back up sd card, it said "skipped ext 2".
Thank you for helping me!

Nandroid doesn't understand that possibility--it expects to see ext2. That's why you couldn't create a backup.

Some ROMS require you to wipe /data as well as /system. So how would i backup all my stuff so that I can simply restore all my stuff after the changes. Like lets say im running on weapon G2x right now but I want to change my ROM to PhoenixBlood, but i dont want to lose my GTA 3 saves (true story XD). Would be greatly appreciated. And pleas don't tell me just to wipe dalvik cache and /cache. Im going to be using G2X scrubber before the install. Thanks!

Titanium Backup Pro lets you backup all apps along with their data. You can also backup system data too, but you might run into problems trying to restore Weapon's system data to PB. Basically I just use the default batch backups under "Schedules"

Yes, backups work w/ the free version. But i highly recommend buying the PRO/Donate version. In the PRO version, it features 0-click batch restores, so you won't have to click "install" for every app you restore. Plus, the developer puts a ton of work into this app, and once you buy the PRO version, its yours for life, no matter how many times it updates. Just a suggestion

It works great on the free version. Also you may want to then copy your TI backup to your PC. One time I formatted one too many things including my SD card. Lost everything, which really sucks if you play games.
Okay, thanks for the input, im going to buy the pro version

Yeah titanium backup is the way to go. Run the batch action for user apps system apps wont do ya any good and can cause issues. I would make a Android backup also can't be to careful
Making bad decision's one at a time.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace, and a week or so ago I was trying to free up internal memory. I often have a low memory warning, due to the phone only something like 180mb internal memory. While looking to see what I could delete or move tto fix this, 30mb was suddenly freed without me doing anything.
I know it wasn't just the reading updating, as I was on low memory for weeks on end. Since, I have re-flashed a ROM (carbon Sunday by jusada if it helps) and I'm back on low memory.
I was wondering whether anyone knows why this would happen, and how I can get it to do it again.
All help appreciated

..mmmh..probably wrong to say here, but..the apps moved to the external sd card are expecting to be slower then before, when were on the internal one?

Apps2sd is the process of moving app files and not data to SD card after boot. This still keeps around 1-5 MB on the phone memory and can be done without root on 2.2+
A2SD involves partitioning ur memory card and using it as phone memory. This is mounted before boot so it's faster. Even the dalvik cache can be moved here
I have a 160 MB phone memory and after partitioning and installing 230 apps, I still have 120 MB free
THANK me if this was helpful

You Can Surely Have the Maximum Internal Space by Installing Darktremore App2sd script and moving Dalvic Cache to sd-ext using Apps2sdGui.
Although your internal Memory will still be used but very little bit, and only for house keeping as Some Apps Require Some of Their Files to be copied on Internal Phone Memory.

Only if you want to allocate more ext space to sd card to run apps. I find it unnecessary and problematic. Also roms must support apps2sd to support it. These phones have plenty of space imo but others may find it useful.

Hey Guys. So this phone is really great, the only problem I have with it is the internal memory size. Any advice on how to swap the internal memory with the sd card? Thanks in advance.

You cannot swap internal and sd card storage, but you can make the SD card act as internal storage by partitioning it

Yes I'm rooted and I have a CM9 rom.
Alright. I personally used Link2SD to gain internal memory, although there are others.
I used this guide for Link2SD (it explains everything!) http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/12/12/link2sd-guide-never-worry-about-internal-memory-limits-again/ it was written for xperia phones, but it is universal.
CM9 SHOULD support EXT4, but to be safe I would use EXT3, or even FAT. These shouldn't matter, but I like larger numbers. I also partitioned about 1 GB, which was enough for me, but you can always do more (don't overkill)

This one.
In the same thread there is a flashable zip that swaps between the internal&external sd cards. So you can theoretically get a 32GB microSD and have that act as your internal sd card while having the real internal memory act as a 1.5GB external sd.
I have a i727r and for some reason the CPU is limited to 1.2 GHZ. I have system tuner and cpu spy installed and they both report 1.2 ghz when playing 3d games.
It wasn't always like that. It used to be 1.5ghz (maybe on an older rom, i'm not sure)
How can I find out what is going on?
Android: 4.0.4
Baseband version: I727UCLD2
Kernel: 3.0.8-perf-I727RUXLF3-CL611724
Build: IMM76D.RUXLF3
Please let me know if you need any more info.
Thanks.

I was planning on flashing to the latest version. How do I go about clearing the phone's internal memory at the same time? I've accumulated a lot of misc junk files and would like to clear it out. Do I just manually delete all folders? which folders aren't safe to delete?
Thanks
If you're gonna wipe and flash something newer, connect your phone to a pc and from there browse your files on your sd card...Collect your music, pictures and anything personal...All the rest will be discarded anyway when you'll flash a newer Rom...
My suggestion is that you flash the latest AT&T JB leak UCLL3 or if you're on Rogers ,Odin the latest official JB Rom from Rogers...Head to the dev section for all the required files and steps...

It's not correct that all will be discarded when you flash another Rom. You'll internal sdcard will not be touched. If you want to completely clean it you should format it after you get everything off you want.

There is an option in recovery for formatting the sd card [this is the int memory]. This is were all the misc junk files are. Before you flash your rom, format sd card, system, cache, data, delvik cache. Then mount usb copy the rom back to your phone and flash it.
