[Q] Popping sound in earpiece - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone here had any random popping sounds from there phone, from the earpiece. Every now and then I will be sitting there and my phone will start making these faint staticky popping sounds and I have to restart it to get it to go away. Sound like somebody is snapping a rubber band.
I called Samsung and they said it is a very common issue. Unfortunately, they couldn't give any other details other than to reboot the phone.
Should I exchange the phone?
EDIT: I think it may be triggered by bluetooth pairing, unpairing, and then charging. Anybody else confirm?

[Q] Music apk

Hi. I have the inspire. Its rooted and has the new 2.3.3 rom. My problem is that when i try to listen to music it skips, changes songs, opens voice dialer and then on one instance it called someone. I reinstalled the rom, restarted the phone, but it still persists. I have an idea it might have something to do with the headphones being inserted. When it was doing this i took out the headphones and plugged them back in and it played music just fine for a few minutes. any ideas?
EDIT
I just noticed right now that the icon changes from headset to headphones. Right now im listening to it and it playing just fine as long as the icon is set to headphone.
Edit 2:
Well i found this "Hey. I'm dealing with an annoying behavior, and I'm not sure if it's by design, or if there's something wrong with my phone.
When I plug in headphones... everything goes wonky. Specifically, the phone seems to take feedback from any pressure (usually accidental) I apply to the headphone cable. If I push it one way, it goes into voice command mode. If I push it another, it redials the last call I made. And other such along these lines. Why is it doing this? Is it by design, or is there something wrong with my device? How do I make it stop? Every time I jostle the phone while trying to listen to music, I have the phone annoying redialing my last call, going to voice mode, or otherwise interrupting what I'm doing.
I got the feeling, from one of the apps I was playing with, that this may be something called "headset commands," but I haven't been able to find anything else about that. "
Its a diffrent phone but same issue. I tried wiggling my headphone jack around a bit and found that the icon changed to headset. So ill leave this thread here for anyone having the same issues, as i couldnt find anything for this issue with the inspire forum.
I had the same problem on CM7, turns out the phone was recognizing my headphones as a bluetooth headset with built in controls, and it was confused thinking it was getting signals to skip around and change songs. I fixed it by installing a widget called Headset Blocker from the Android market, once I enable it everything works well.
Thanks! now my world is ok.

Sound is all messed up

I can't find anything like this. I wake up this morning to a call and upon hanging up, the hang up sound is a lower tone than normal. I think nothing of it since I'm still out of it. Later, I adjust the phone volume and the beep that it makes is the same lower tone. At this point I try putting on music and it sounds like it went down an octave. I'm kind of freaking out because this is a MAJOR problem for me. It does the same thing when I plug headphones in so it isn't just the speaker. How in the world does this happen and what can I do to fix it? Was there an update this morning that may have done this?

In-call noise problem

Hello, has anyone got issues with this phone when calling? Sometimes, when I am in a call, the person who I am talking to reports that he/she can barely hear me and that there are noises from my side. I tested this and it's true, even in a quiet environment there are noises from my side, and if I cover then uncover for a few times the two mics on the top and bottom the problem dissappears but reappears after some time. I think this is a problem with the noise-canceling mic so I searched in the menu but couldn't find any option to deactivate it. I already did a full wipe and this is not a solution, the problem is still there. Any help?

XZP anyone else have mic cut out/clicking issues? (XZ premium)

Really hoping i'm not the only one experiencing this issue.
Whenever I make a call using the main microphone (not speakerphone) after a few minutes people say i sound "muffled" or they hear a "clicking" sound. The clicking sound happens just before my mic cuts out entirely and the other person cant hear me until i switch to speakerphone. Oddly enough, switching from speakerphone then turning it off solves the issue for a minute before it happens all over again. Additionally resetting the phone seems to fix the issue for an hour or so. I have yet to try and repeat this error using a VOIP call like FB messenger.
Anyone else experiencing this, or can offer some help?

Sometimes when I listen to audio notes on Whatsapp the volume goes high suddenly

After getting my new Pixel 2, I've been noticing a strange behavior while using Whatsapp.
The audio notes on Whatsapp can be played both on "loudspeaker" or "phone speker" mode, depending on how you hold your phone if far or close to you ear. This is determined by the proximity sensor, I guess.
The BIG problem is that when I hold the phone close to my ear to privately listen to the audio notes I've received, the audio starts low (normal) but suddenly goes high as if it was on "loudspeaker" mode. This is deafening! My ear really hurts when it's happening!!!
I guess this is a huge problem, like causing real immediate injuries...
I wonder if this is a problem with my phone only or it's a common one.
I've already tried to reinstall Whatsapp but with no sucess.
Please, help.
Regards.

No solution, but I've encountered the same issue as well. Even though the phone was against my head, it was like the sensor malfunctioned or something. Maybe it's something Google could fix?
