School
My School is not listed, are there other ways to become an account ?
There is not a problem that your school is not listed. You should buy a ISIC card, and then use it to register on DreamSpark program.
ISIC Card ?
What is that ISIC and where can I buy this Card ? in my School ?
ISIC means International Student Identity. I would give you a link, but it's forbidden (I am beginner here). So you have to use a Google, write ISIC and look at first founded web page. There you find information about that card and where you can buy it. For example i got it for free when i registered to university sport club.

I live in a country that currently has no marketplace support.
I have registered a Live account for the UK so that I can at least download free apps to my Phone.
I would like to register for a development ($99) account so that I can unlock my phone for development.
1) Any tips for a successful registration are welcome.
Microsoft announced that marketplace support for my country will become available somewhere this year.
2) Will I be able to 'transfer' my developer account / change my Live account so that it will be valid for my country's marketplace or will that require me to pay another $99 to Microsoft for a new developer account?
I read that multiple Live accounts can be registered on a WP7 phone.
3) Is it a good idea to create 2 different Live accounts: 1 for normal/personal use (email, calendar etc.) and 1 specially for a development account?
4) Would it be preferable to register the developer acount as the second (not the primary) account on the phone?
5) Is it possible to create a developer account for a country that currently has no marketplace support, register it on the phone as secondary live account, and register a primary Live account for a country that does have marketplace support (e.g. UK)?
(I wish Microsoft would not have made it so difficult to start developing for WP7 for people in countries that don't have marketplace support yet.)

GeoTrust are so rude in dealing with registration for the app hub.
I am a student in country X and I provided them with my passport from the original country Y, and my driver's licence from the original country Y and a receipt for an ID from the country X where I study.
... and they didn't approve my application. They claim that I have to provide the residence ID from the country where I study (which I don't have right now, but the receipt is the one used whenever the ID is required!)
Voila, I beleive your case is impossible compared with what I've been through
I'm really surprised by the total lack of helpful contributions in this thread.
A little help and/or pointers would be appreciated.

I would also like to have a marketplace developer account. My university is in the msdnaa (dreamspark?) program but as I am in latin america they will probably take 2-3 more years to bring the service here. (Xbox live arrived last november).
The only way that I can imagine to get your applications submitted, is to get a "front man" in one of the available countries.
Me too. I'm a MVP and would like to have developer account. But I can't.

You will not be able to register on AppHub unless you actually live in a country where marketplace payouts are available. The key word here is payouts as there are a few countries with no marketplace access for purchases but where you can still register as a developer. Have a look at "Regional Information" towards the bottom of this page.

This is a moot point as you are unable to register using a, e.g. UK account unless you live there - and can prove it. In short; unless you can provide GeoTrust with proof of identity and address in the country you've told them, you will not be verified and not get access to your account.

That depends. If you have the opportunity to create a new Live ID using your business email that would likely be preferrable as customers can contact you directly thru your Publisher name. It really makes no difference to the way the accounts work on the phone though.

Yes. You would want the primary account to be your "personal" account as that's where it will upload photos, pull OneNote books and sync contacts/calendars from by default.

Yes. Although see above for caveats. This is the only way to get Marketplace access though, so unless you can live with "free" apps only or know mktplace is being rolled out in your country within the next few weeks or months - it's what you have to do.
Also of note is that your AppHub account does not have to reside on your phone at all. You can leave it on the desktop only and still unlock your device for development using the provided tools.
Finally, if your country has neither purchase or payout access to the marketplace the only other option is to use something like Yalla Apps or a friend from an approved country as a front man. I've done this for a few people already so if that's something of interest PM me.
^ Very helpful info. Thanks emigrating!

ok, I don't know how helpfull this info is but, once you have a developer account you can unlock multiple devices then use one of the many registry hacks out there to prevent your phone from relocking, even post-nodo, then after the hack is applied you can remove the phone from the developer account and unlock a different one. So if you can your best bet would be find a friend whome you trust with an account and let them unlock your phone for you, or someone at your school, maybe you could even pay them a small handling fee.
I'm a student and I have a dreamspark account and I need a fake app in order for GeoTrust to identify me so I can unlock my phone...
Thanks a lot
You could always just pick up any of the provided xaps on here i supposed, but if you wanna just go legit, why not just pick up one of the tutorials provided by M$ for a hello world app and just compile that. Easy stuff and you get a brief intro to boot.

All you need to do is submit a app. I just completed this and after you dl the ms tools for the phone you can build one. Just start a new project and you will need a few png files to use as but those are easy to get. Then just submit it called dummy app. You have to submit it just to start the verifacation process. I got verified this way and the next day they rejected my app.
I just made a dummy app for WM 6.5. I used a CAB for a keyboard fix & may the different size icons images needed.
Hi alltogether !
I've searched the forum, but found nothing, so let me start a new thread.
I'm looking for an app called Shiftplaner (or Schichtplan in German). Does anybody have it (or is able to convert it to) .xap ?
Both english or german would do for me.
I think some of us here work in shifts, so it would be nice to have it to plan some free time...
Thanks for the replies...
Well, for starters this thread should really be in "Windows Phone 7 General" forum.
2nd, is this app available on other platforms? Do you have a link to a website? Marketplace doesn't show any apps by that name that I can find.

Sorry, can't help you. You can be banned from the forum making such a request. My idea is this: Try signing up for Bing Rewards, and you might be able to use your rewards points to buy some credit on the Windows Phone Market Place. Not sure if they have a reward for that, but its worth a shot.
I just discovered a New great site on the web that can help any developer in Programming. Its a site where you don't need compiler, or local web server. Its the Social Network for the Developers (The Facebook alternativity for Programmers ). Its a site where you can code online and compile without any tool. You can work with friends, you can share your work or watch your friend coding live. You can build website and run in online without a local web server, or put it on your DOMAIN... YES you get your own free domain, plus 4 GB Storage and you can get more, plus your own Virtual Machine. Hurry up there is 1 Day left for the free 4 GB... This is the best thing for us Developers,

Your welcome, we have the tools now, so lets develop now
Hello. I am not pretty sure to ask this question in this community, but I really want to discuss it and need help with it. I am a new seller on amazon and there are many agencies in the USA that offer account management services. But as a newbie I am not sure whether to book an agency for my amazon account management to drive sales or I should manage it myself with basic information. I'm sure it will take some time, but can anyone suggest a proper solution for that? If I work on plan B (research phase). How long will it take to achieve the right results?
To get the reason why an app crashes simply do a LOGCAT.
