Modems are location based and there its usually a trade off. Try the kg4 modem

The "stock" version of this Rom just does not seem to want to Root (not superoneclick or gingerbreak) Anyone got ideas?
Odin Dr honks modified kernel. It will auto root and give you cwm.

Where can I find the Kernel?

Alright well I figured that much lol it's just the Kernel?
yes, that's all you need for root

I am trying to find best stock rom with gingerbread for the infuse. My wife is not into custom roms the way I am, however I would like to be able to upgrade her. What options do I have? I saw the "one stop shop" thread but didn't know what was the most stock option. I do want to root and install cwm though.

The best "stock" would probably be infused

Infused isn't stock. It's a great ROM, but it's running on half-baked Rogers Gingerbread. That's not stock.

He's wanting gingerbread that's a good gb rom

That sounds pretty good. I'm running custom roms and Entropy's kernel on my Galaxy S II so I know its good stuff. Anyone know if the performance is better than stock with this setup?

By that logic there would be no stock GB's, they're all based on rogers leaks

No they're not... We have plenty of Infuse leaks that have been being cranked out for months now.

I've had great results with UCKL2. Battery life is great, and signal strenth is very good.
UCKL2 or UXKG3.
UCLB3 is awful for Rogers users IMO
Ya that's the one I'm using its all over the place.

I'll try those out guys just wanted to narrow down my flashing of modems. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
I can't seem to get the modem to change I have flashed it twice but won't change it. Its still bl3 . Do I need to use Odin to do it maybe?
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
For jellybean you have to flash modems compatible with the MTD filesystem.
They are all here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869159
I can't seem to flash it. How is it to be done

Just flash it in CWM
Any chance fb or someone else would be able to make all the modems we had on ICS be available for 4.3?
If it is already then sorry for the post. I just thought they didn't work on 4.3.
Thanks.

As far as I know all MTD modems (meant for CM7 and ICS) are also good for JB.

Well I flashed kb5 and I get a nice black right triangle.
