did you drop your phone? cuz many of us around the xt720 xda sub forums got these dead pixels a while after we dropped our phone onto the floor. the only way is to send the phone back to the service centre if you still have your warranty. they will replace the lcd for you.
look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144956

Currently have a patch of bluish dead pixels on the phone. Does the warranty cover this?
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
I'd say it depends on the warranty and the provider of it. It sounds like a plain old case of hardware failure, so as long as you didn't deliberately smash it or dent it (requiring accident or "stupid user syndrome" coverage which some warranties don't cover), you should be fine. Best to look up your specific IMEI with Motorola (http://servicemyphone.motorola.com/iden/support/showUnitSearch.do?singleUnitSearch=true) and see what your warranty details are, if any, from there.
As for your provider's warranty (if applicable), we'd have no idea without knowing who or how long you've had your phone for.

IIRC there is was another thread somewhere in XT720 General where some people had seemed to have luck fixing bluish pixels.
Yea Motorola will fix it. I sent mine back a couple months ago for this, and I'm bout to send it back again. Mines getting bad. I cant see the time or battery. And theres a giant line. Its growing. Like mioz said there's a fix. But it involves a bunch of freezer bags and a freezer. And it only worked temporarily for me tho.

Thanks for all the replies!
Hope they will honour the warranty as it is within a year. Mines from Singapore btw

Yes I actually got mine fixed, well almost fixed, i still have 2 concentrations of the blue dead pixels on top and below, but doesn't bother me that much.. all of the lines and spots all over the screen were gone. Yes it involves putting your phone in the freezer. LOL.. Seriously thouhg it does.. hehehe!!

Yea they do takes 3-4 days though...
Yes, Motorola will help you replace the LCD screen for free if you are still under warranty. I sent my phone in last month, and they even helped me replace the led lights at the bottom (didn't ask for it but they said it was uneven so they decided to do it).

Just returned from the service center. It said its not covered under warranty. They said its probably due to misuse!

its exactly what it looks like in this thread. and they are not honouring it! should i go again?
Just tell them some crap saying that you didn't do anything, or that you were just using it for a few hours and suddenly the dead pixels appeared.. haha.

Hi guys,
I'm new to the community but hope to be part of it!
Anyways I used to be an iphone user but switched to the skyrocket and love it! Its been about 3 weeks and everythings been great. I actually decided not to use a screen cover and have gotten no scratches thus far.
However today i noticed under a bright light theres two horizontal whitish lines on my screen, both near the top each only going half way across the screen. I can see it most clearly under bright light and almost not at all under a regular light and if I look at my phone at an angle (from the bottom to the top or vice versa) It looks more like a smudge (that cant be rubbed off) than a sratch because it looks thicker than a scratch, almost a discoloration. However it looks fine with the screen on. What could this be? Should i be concerned or go to the Att store? Thx guys!!

I've had lines like that on both my Skyrocket and my Captivate. Not sure if they're the same as yours, vertical lines that look like scratches, but when I clean them with an alcohol pad they go away.

I bought a Galaxy S Glide (I think the same as the Blaze) from an outlet in Hong Kong on import from Canada (on boot it says "Rogers" so I can assume it's from Canada).
After using it for a week it suddenly stopped using the network and said that I need a lock code.
I went back to the shop where I bought it and they said they couldn't do anything immediately and would I like a replacement, which seemed like a nice thing to do.
However, after a couple of days I notice a glitch on the screen happen a couple of times.
I refused to believe it was a big problem (because it was my new phone right!) within a week the screen started to totally crash to the point that it would freeze in the boot up process.
You can see a picture attached of how the screen looks after I managed to do a hard reset.
When it starts to go like this, you cant do anything with it.
The guy at the shop wont change it or refund it, he claims I dropped it.
Samsung Hong Kong don't support it because it's from Canada and the only shop that knows what to do with it is the guy that sold it to me.
I'm taking the guy to the small claims court, but I'd rather have a fixed phone.
Any ideas please?
That's not the Blaze but seems like a mytouch I have that got water damaged and the screen started turning off when I pulled out keyboard. So check that if not maybe screen is messing up or a connector perhaps

Check the model number under the battery also check the while stickers to see if they are red because if they are activated the. The phone is water damaged and is probably hardware detective
