Hey, I love what Tiamats has accomplished and what its become. Currently running Hammerhead. Does anyone run into issues connecting to things like Open Feint, or in game services like the community in Paradise Island? It's the only thing that seems to give me problems, and I don't understand what would be causing the conflict. Thx.

It's not Tiamat. It's been reported once before... Open Feint seems to not work on the Xoom. Not sure if its the same on the other Honeycomb tablets, but I am going to say yes. Seems it has issues with HC for some reason. I've experienced this since the Xoom launched before we had root, and Tiamat. So... clearly it's not fixed yet...
Must just be 3.2 for the paradise island. It was working before hammerhead rom. Oh well the good easily out weighs this small thing. Thx for the reply.

Hi Guys & Gals,
I'm hoping somebody out there might be able to point me in the right direction with this. I've found many, many threads on different sites with problems, but none with working solutions.
I am running the latest (1.12.16) MIUI on my Desire S, but cannot get it to pair to my car kit. It starts the connection, asks for the password, tells me it has paired, then drops out and just asks for the password again.
Any ideas as this is essential for me to stick with MIUI as I spend half my life on the road. No problems on any Sense ROMs or CyanogenMod.
Cheers.

Sounds like a miui based problem more than anything else, but try and combination of galnet miui and tiamat kernel, its better than normal miui.
Maybe there is an app on the market to handle this more efficiently? I'll have a look when I get on my desktop and report back.

Thanks for that advice. I had looked at Galnet MIUI the other day, but the website wasn't responding (I think it was 403 errors I was getting) and I hadn't got back to it since. I've currently gone back to CyanogenMod as I know it works, but will give this a try later and let you know how it goes.

I'm pretty sure you'll get the same results from galnet, but its worth a shot, I mainly recommend it as it was my best experience on the desire s.

Zeekiz,
If you weren't the other side of the world I'd take you down the pub for a cold beer. The Galnet version (even though based on exactly the same v1.12.16) works perfectly with Bluetooth. I have since reburned the normal MIUI version and checked that BT is definitely broken in it.
You've made my Christmas - thanks mate.

Hi,
Probably a cheeky post, I can distil the info from the other threads...but just wondering if now is a good time to try out ICS? Looks like EOS's nightlies are coming along well, but seems to be some issues.
So I'm just wondering if its suitable yet for general use, or is it only suitable if you really want to play with ICS - would it be best to wait a few weeks for a main release?
I use my xoom for most stuff now - skype, reading, even streaming movies from my network, wouldn't want to lose any functionality, or have it less enjoyable to use than with HC (Moray ROM - wonderful!), but am chomping the bit to play with ICS
Thanks a mill,
Justin
I have a wifi only Xoom and could not imagine going back hc. I have tried EOS and cm9 and like both of them. Everything works that I use. Small issues here and there. Make a backup, if you don't like it flash back.

I agree with the above poster. I couldn't even dream of going back to Honeycomb. ICS is a real step up. I personally don't think you'll regret it. Like he said though, make a backup and just revert if for any reason you don't like it. But I really doubt that will happen.

Does anybody else who plays mocospace games have screen proximity issues? Mostly with pet hotel? I get it with Lord Clockan's Ice Cold Sandwich. Haven't tried the many other ROMs but can someone tell men if they get the same problem?
Reality hits you hard, bro.

I also have game issues using ICS ROMs. I figured its due to the drivers are not fully released and ported over. Some games work great while others show deformed or stop working. They work great on non ICS ROMs. So I believe its a ICS issue do to the drivers not fully there. I tested them on Redemption, Ice Cold and AOSPX with same results.

Damn. That sucks. I really love the ICS ROMs but sometimes I like to play games. I'll just have to keep switching back and forth between ROMs every now and then until its resolved. Thanks.

You can test out which games are working and which aren't yet. I play those that do and I'm just waiting for release and the devs to port the drivers so I can play the rest. No big deal to me.

Guys to be honest with ICS right now you should expect issues as until we have the source code for things everything is a port or a hacked together set up. Without the kernel source there will not be an ICS rom without issues.

I know that. I was just wondering if anybody else had the same problem, or found a ROM that didn't have this issue on mocospace. Most of the games on the market aren't ICS compatible, so I just stick to the ones that are until everything is working. Thanks.

I recently installed Mr.Apocalypses' Genesis ROM Beta7. Everything works like a boss, however, my mobile data randomly drops. Now, my mobile data works flawlessly on other ICS ROMs for my G2X, even CM9.
I would like to know why this can be an issue on some ROMs and not on others.
You should probably pose this question in his ROM thread in development section. Better chance he will see it. It's a known issue but I don't know the reason why. I haven't tried any other ICS ROM's so I can't say which ones work/don't. They all use the same CM9 hax to start AFAIK.

I agree, post in his thread and he will more than likely see it or someone else with a similiar issue can try to help, or since its a known issue, you can try and wait for Mr.Apocalypse to try to make a fix hes an awesome dev and he will get around to it.
Good luck!

The random data drops are issues that all ICS roms have, especially the ones that are 4.0.4 based. I explain this in the Genesis FAQ on post 2.

It's strange, when I first installed ics it was when Hellfire had just come out and nullifier was recommended when coming from gb builds. Just like everyone else I had to install twice, but I didn't get data drops. On the first few genesis betas I did the same thing and no data drops also. Only once I installed beta 5 and wiped with cwm and aroma did I see data drops. But when I installed beta 6, I only wiped with aroma and all is cherry. Better than cherry even, haven't noticed one issue except known and some freezes/touch screen issues in six guns. Could be coincidence or rom and kernel incompatibility issues, idk but just my experience. Great job on genesis Mr apoc, daily driver all day long! Woot

What version of HFS did you come from?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
I believe the last hfs I was running was 1.4. Could be wrong I would have to check. Nothing wrong with hells rom though, I just like the aokp hybrid that mr apoc has built a bit more!
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
I think HFS 1.4 was running Android 4.0.3 (I started with that ROM, too). Word on the forums is that data connectivity issues started with Android 4.0.4 which all current ROMs are using now and that will explain why you're now having data problems.
What I don't get is if that's the case, then why don't the ROMs just start using the old version again? Was it such an improvement that it's worth the hassle?

As many of you can probably tell, I'm a newbie, so I'm restricted to the 10 posts before I could post in the Development sub thread. However, Mr. Apocalypse came by anyway and chimed in. Thanks to everyone for their contribution and to Mr. A for being such an awesome dev.
Hi All!
Recently, while surfing through the ocean of ROMs for my LG G2X P999, I came across this ROM. Couldn't find any link related to this on XDA. So thought of pointing the G2X owners to this link:
http://www.androidauthority.com/g2x-p999-t-mobile-cyanogenmod-10-cm10-unofficial-115536/
Flashed it just yesterday. Apart from the Video-recording did not notice any bugs so far. In fact I haven't used it enough to comment on bugs. But I can confirm that Calls and Wifi are both working fine.
If any one knows any prior publication of this work on XDA; please let me know so we can avoid duplicates.

It doesn't,
I can't get it to work on anything that is not CM7 based.
Kinda blows that our phone is limited to cm7. I love cm7 as it is treating me well, but selection is always a nice privilege

I tried a couple different versions of CM7 over the past few days, and its nothing but a nightmare. It will run flawlessly for hours and then something quirky will happen and I either cant get data, or cant make calls, or my screen locks up, and im rebooting the phone or looking for a fix on google. Wound up just going back to the stock rom with faux123 kernel.

Well the problem is that other developers take the vanilla cm7 code and tweak/mod the hell out of it which is always awesome but they put out an unstable build/ROM. If you haven't tried vanilla CM7.2 from get.cm (latest build) then you're missing out. I have had the ROM installed running with mazout's latest kernel for over a week now and its been running extremely well. All and any problems that I experienced with this setup were directly due to ignorance and human error as I'm still a flaming n00b. At the same time they were great learning experiences and easily fixed.

The problem is going to lie in your setup somewhere.
Maybe kernel level as it is known that some G2xs will run great on Trinity but crash on Faux and vice versa. That's just a quick example.
I've run vanilla CM7 for like 13 months now and do not encounter the issues you are describing.
Soooo...what's your setup.

Data does work but there is issue related to rapid battery drain. Back to my stock ROM. This hasn't been updated since a long time. I wonder if any developer at all is working on this phone or not!

You are late to the party... This device is a dying device. There's 1 dev working on a CM7 Kernel and that's about it. More than likely we will never see fully working 4.1.1 or higher on our device. They tried real hard and are some talented people (our devs), but LG handed them a broken pile of excrement and said, "here you go... Jellybeans!!"...

That's almost all true! I have another old phone, Mytouch4g/HTC Glacier. On that one I am running 4.2.2 and there is a lot of development still on. Huge number of ROMs which can be used as daily drivers. But here we don't even have a perfectly working 4.0.4. But again, no complain to Developers. they have tried really hard with a lot of time invested in this device. All the blame on LG.
This phone is lightning fast on 2.3.X variants. still very much usable. I may be late to the party, but the party is yet not over
I just want to chime in that I used this and the phone is working. The camera seems slower (and therefore more blurry). Other than that everything that I use (I do not use bluetooth, tethering, or wi-fi calling) is working. It's about the same speed as CM7 I had on here before. Don't know about battery since I only just did it.
If anyone knows any tricks for the camera please share. I babysit a toddler and his face is often blurry in photos. I'm pretty sure with this new ROM it will be even more blurred. I have already removed the plastic cover over the camera lens, it's not that issue. This is clearly software as it has gotten slower with this ROM.
We thought we might have a jellybean breakthrough when cm started deving cm10.1 on the p990 and had the courtesy of posting a half port of their work in progress. I believe it's called AdamPK's cm10.1 and is usually found with Mazout360 kernel. Hardware Acceleration Work so no camera, camcorder, sluggish or other problems that plagued the hackfests but they ran into and issue with the radio because O2x and G2x use different radio chips. So you have wifi but no data and battery can't be read correctly but other than that it would be as close to a perfect 4.x as we could get.
