[Help] Black background won't go away - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I upgrade to revovler 2.0 from Prime 1.6.
Revolve was working fine after I restored everything from my Titanium backup.
I also installed Clemsyn kernel and 3G enabler.
But after that, I only have black background whenever I start up my HC.
Initially, I thought it's a revovler rom problem. And so I tried flashing to the latest Prime 1.7.
However, I was still shown the black background after rebooting numerous times.
I had done cache and delvik wipe.
I am able to see the status bar and the default buttons, but was unable to do anything more than that.
Now I will try to do a factory reset.
Meanwhile, if anyone know the root of the problem, please advise.
Thanks.

[Q] Stuck during bootup TNT 2.0

My father brought home the G Tablet yesterday after getting it at Office Depot because it was on sale and was the last one left.
I didn't want to open it because I've had my eye on the ADAM tablet and was going to wait for it to come out and compare the two. However, he convinced me to mod the G Tablet to run TNT 2.0.
It worked fine for a while today. I got it up and running, fixed the Market, and was able to download apps and games. Then, I woke it out of sleep mode and the Market started coming up with errors. I figured that I'd just need to turn it off and boot it back up again.
The problem that I'm having is that the thing doesn't want to boot back up. It goes to the ViewSonic screen, then to the G Tablet logo, pauses for a second, then goes back to the ViewSonic screen.
I attempted to do a recovery and see if I could reinstall TNT; it refused. It will see that there is a kernel, but when it goes to install it, I get an exclamation point flashed on screen and then it goes back to the ViewSonic screen (I'm getting really sick of looking at those birds).
Is there any way to fix this, or did I have the shoddy luck to have one with bad hardware?
I didn't use Clockwork to install the firmware. I realize that that might have not been the best choice now.
I haven't had that, probably I'm still stock, but there are threads about getting out of the problem. Use forum search, in this forum. Search titles only, for 'loop'.
Jim
Thanks.
I tried flashing it again with clockwork installed to no avail. I also tried to set it back to the manufacture default, but encountered the same loop.
Looks like it's going back to Office Depot!

If you have clockwork installed then go to advanced and partition the sdcard. I use 2gb, and 0 for swap. Do a wipe data/factory reset, and a wipe cache partition from clockwork also. Problem will likely go away after that. Partitioning the sdcard will remove any data but that's the way it goes sometimes.
Then I would reflash from clockwork something like TnTLite 2.4, or the VegaN Beta 3 rom. You can do that from clockwork also.

x2 on the sd re-partition, it will most likely fix the issue. Many users have reported similar issues.
Here's the problem -- this is very common and exchanging it probably won't help as you might eventually have the problem again. You already have cm on the device, so you are 90% there already.

Partial Factory Resets?

So the past 2 days I've had an interesting problem, with even more interesting results.
Both mornings I've tried to use my GPS and it just hangs on trying to connect to it. The GPS says it's on, and I can toggle it off and back on again but it never finds any sats.
Yesterday I reboot the phone and it takes a while to boot the phone back up (most like the first time you boot after a fresh install), and when the phone came back online the GPS worked but all my bluetooth pairings were gone.
Today I have the same GPS problem so I reboot again, and again it takes a while to boot and so far I still have my bluetooth pairings, but I've been unable to connect to the devices, all my sound settings are back to the defaults, when I hold down the power button now the only option I have is Power Off, nothing else, when my screen times out and I hit power to bring it back on it goes right back to wherever I was, I don't see the lock screen anymore. And to top it all off my home button and my search button do not work.
What a mess, this phone is getting worse by the day, I'm actually starting to regret the purchase. I guess it's time to call it in and see what they say.
Edit: Forgot to add all my SMS messages were deleted as well.
Rooted? Have you done anything to it? That's definitely not normal but I guess you know that
Ya it's rooted and has nvflashed clockworkmod recovery installed. Rooted the day I got the phone and clockworkmod recovery has been installed for about a week.
I just tried clearing the cache partition, wiping Dalvik Cache, fixing permissions, and no change. Running a full backup via Titanium Backup now before I try a factory reset to see if that fixes it.
If that doesn't do it I'll try restoring a backup image from last week.

I would guess it's not the phone but the CWM made the mess. You probably want to try factory reset.
My Bluetooth settings and profiles randomly appear and disappear and I'm bone stock.
Well, factory reset got all my buttons working again, and my screen locks again. Since I'm back to stock now and have to re-setup everything now I think I'll go try out the Eaglesblood ROM and see how that goes.

[Q] Unable to format/rest to factory defaults after Clockworkmod installation

I've had a great experience so far with my xoom! I had it rooted and overclocked since the first day I had it!
Its starting to get sluggish and things are beginning to go a little wonky, so I'd like to reflash to either the stock honeycomb 3.1 installation, or one of the roms that I've seen floating around.
The trouble is that the minute I saw the 'encryption' feature, I used it. I did that before ever rooting or overclocking it.
I am now unable to reset to factory defaults. Here is what I've tried:
- using the menu option from inside of the settings area to reset the tablet to factory defaults: When I do this, it reboots and gets to a screen with a little android logo and a progress indicator - however within several seconds the progress indicator goes away and is replaced by that nasty little triangle with the exclamation point saying something isn't right.
- Booting into clockwork mod and formatting everything available to be formatted from CWM: This actually broke the tablet and I had to reflash things to get it working properly. However all of my user stuff and all the settings remained intact.
Does anybody know how to reset the tablet to factory default after its been encrypted? You guys know 50x more than Verizons support team will.
My only other option is to back up all of my data, "break" the tablet, then go use my warranty at the store to get another one. I'd really like to avoid that if at all possible.
What version CWM do you have? Flash the newest recovery if you flashed the recovery from ROM manager. If that doesn't work then flash stock software.
What version Xoom do you have? This is for 3g http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-hacking-guides/2788-how-return-stock-3g-4g-hr166.html
You don't have to do the last step of locking if you want to reroot. That should also remove encryption. If it doesn't do a factory reset from settings. And verify CWM works as well.

[Q] its all gone loopy

B50 tf101
I was running krakd 1.52 and I started getting fc's on a number of apps so I decided to reflash
It seemed to go ok but when I went to use it it froze and rebooted and has pretty much carried on doing that since.
I have reflashed and wiped all partitions fixed permissions reset to factory flashed prime and revolver. tried blades and roach kernels, and the outcome is the same....
fast reboot, screen will move side to side as normal until I select an app or settings then it freezes and reboots if I leave it it reboots after about 5 mins.
I tried to connect it the pc but it isnt reconised as tf101. now onlyusb mtu
all help gratefully received, thanks
try a fresh download of the rom and when your setting up the tf dont use the google restore option as it usually fracks your apps and causes a few issues with them. im assuming you wiped the dalvik and done data wipe/factory reset aswell as wiping the cache?
do you have "usb debug" still checked when you are connecting to your pc?
Thanks for the prompt reply. I have successfully restored it to stock, no root and I may stay there and lick my wounds for a day or two

[Q] My Tablet Reboots Everytime I open any Browser, and I can't Seem to Reset It

Earlier today I realized my tablet reboots everytime I open a web browser (I tried both Google Chrome and the stock browser).
I tried to clear data, force close, and uninstall chrome, but everytime I do that, the device reboots too.
So I proceed to reset that thing. And here's where it gets weird. Whether by factory reset option from Settings, by wiping /data from recovery (both stock and CWM), or even reflashing the ROM with ODIN, the tablet will boot up, and show my wallpaper, all my apps, accounts, and data perfectly intact. As if I did nothing.
I'm running rooted stock ICS. Can anyone help me with this? I scoured everywhere and I couldn't find any problem quite like mine. I'm starting to think it's hardware-related and that I'm screwed. But I'd like to hear from you guys first.
